After watching One Litre Of Tears I found this drama. Taiyou No Uta or Song To The Sun is an amazing drama. Erika Sawajiri plays these characters beautiful. I never knew until know how amazing Erika Sawajiri can sing and her voice is great.

Kaoru loves to sing but her problem is that she cant go out during the day because of the sun. Karou is someone you look up to. Even read more though she has a disease she stills wants to accomplish her dreams or what she wants do in life and thats sing. Kouji supports Karou with her singing and is a caring guy.

A drama about music so the music has to be good right? Well in this drama the music is good. The songs Taiyou No Uta and Stay With Me are beautiful I wish we could get more songs like those in life today.

I would rewatch this but if you dont like tragedy endings then dont rewatch or watch it. These types of dramas are realy inspirational.

The next tragic story with Sawajiri Erika as the main character. The japanese are masters in inventing new, rare diseases... Though there are differently, I like it. Perhaps, I fan of drama and tragedy.

Amane Kaoru has varied life thnaks to friends. It's a pity, that she hasn't a chance in final scene and she can't make the wish...

'Stay with me' and Taiyou no uta' are beautiful songs. read more I like singing them when I have a worse day.

Midnight Sun is the original movie version. The "theme" songs in both dramas are also great, and sung by the main actresses. The movie has its own unique charm.

Both about making use of what little time they've left in their life, and they discover love and dreams.

Taiyou no Uta might be a little more on the dream chasing part, it is a beautiful movie about hopes and dreams nonetheless, one of those heart warming drama as you follow the character's growth, and you discover precious things in life with them. Both lead are strong characters who works hard to fight for the time they have, to make something out of their lives.

    Real and touching story!
The way she, Kaoru Amane ages as naturally as a crazy teenager; Because she has this disease, but then changes her mind and makes one believe that it is better to live and love, to enjoy her time on earth than to remain without regretting the fact of her illness, an attention to interpretation, which is surprising "You are not Uta" is a touch of life, a reflective drama that will make you grateful to be alive and healthy.

I was getting really confused because I first saw the movie's page "Taiyo no Uta" and saw the lead was YUI playing Kaoru Amane, which I thought was weird because I knew Erika Sawajiri went by that alias in her music. Then I looked at YUI's background and saw that she had a strangely similar life to Sawajiri. Then I saw a video on youtube of Erika Sawajiri playing the role of Kaoru Amane singing the Taiyou no Uta song, and then I saw another video of YUI playing Kaoru Amane singing a different song in a movie by the same name. At this point I was going crazy because every time I searched Taiyou no Uta in google it came up with the movie, not the series. Until FINALLY I saw on the movie's page that Taiyou no Uta (with a U) was related content, clicked it and all my questions are answered.

It's a sad movie they said. Nope, not much.

It wasn't as sad as I expected it to be. Yamada Takayuki and Sawajiri Erika in the first five episodes looked uncomfortable with their roles, I thought they were feeling awkward around each other but they were cute and good to look at them :D

This story was interesting for awhile. Ep.2 is not needed at all IMO.
I didn't care for either koji's or Kaoru's friends. They just annoyed me
    Loved Emily. though
I was enjoying the romance while it lasted, after awhile it seemed like they were just together but not really into eachother. Kissing scenes could have been better
    Loved the ending..
