I didn't expect to like this story as much as I did by the end of it. I watched it all in one day. I loved it, although it really is a sad story, and it had me crying throughout the drama, especially at the final episode. I've never been in love, but I could feel the love coming from the characters. I think that it's worth watching, just be prepared to read more cry! It's very touching, just keep watching it. It's a short series, too, which makes it easier to get through. Just give it a shot (:

I loved this drama b/c the story it was very touching. I know lots of ppl that have ended up in a similar situation but obviously not the same. I loved the actors b/c they brought a real down to earth feel to the story. I loved how they showed their feelings in different ways, which has a lot to do w/ the back ground that they came from. I understood the read more story very well b/c I fell in love at a young age also. Being w/ that person makes life better and having beautiful memories to remember when he is not w/ me makes those times pass easier. I think this drama touches so many ppl b/c they know how to sympathize w/ the lead characters. If you don't get it that is probably b/c u have never felt what the story is trying to portray. Watch this and enjoy it but expect to cry b/c it is that moving.

The story is different, but the feeling of both series is similar!

Both the movie Yuuki and Koizora involved the main character fighting a disease and changing their outlook on life. Although Koizora focused a little more on romance than Yuuki both still contain the same theme.

Does this j-drama have a sad ending or is it just touching through the whole drama?
Cause I'm looking forward to watch it but I don't want it to have a sad ending...

It's been 5 years since I started this drama and I still haven't watched the two final episodes :) I cried so much leading up to them that I couldn't even think of dealing with the emotions watching the final two lol. I'll never watch them, it's too painful. Sorry!

Is there anyone who has both watched the drama and read the original manga? Because I read the manga, didn't like it that much, is the drama worth watching for me?

Everyone has an opinion, but for me manga is much better from the drama.

Not very. Mainly only events at the university have been shortened.

the drama captures more emotions since it was longer, savoring all the right elements. I never get the same emotions trying to watch the movie (I could not finish the movie). For me the drama version is better and more moving.

gosh... I cried rivers over this....I am watching j-drama over 8 years, but never gave chance to this cause I thought it would be annoying sad romantic thing like korean ones that I now really can't stand anymore.. BUT I AM GLAD I WATCHED IT! gosh >_< great sad drama and actors and music and pace of drama! growing up, first love and love, mistakes and learnings, friends and strength and cowardice...but I really can't understand why didn't they try other ways of healing it beside doctors since cancer can be cured only with nature.. I wanted to jump on the screen and tell them to use Schevcenko method or Kyani.. >_< gosh... this is no good for my heart I told myself I won't watch tragedies anymore.. but it was soo.. omigosh only Japanese can do such good sad drama >_<
as for their romance and story going and actor they acted brilliant! those ho don't understand japanese life can't understand it, so this drama is for those who already watched at least 10 japanese drama, listens at least a few japanese groups or artists, reads manga and watched at least 5 anime..
it's natural slow but strong inside! that's why I like old japanese drama more since they are more natural of those nowdays too hard trying ones for right expressions..
this all felt so uh.. feels.. I guess I will cry all day today >_<

I really loved this drama, I cried over and over again.
I would actually give it a 10 if the tragedy didn't exist in the drama.
Although the story is too fast, but I'm glad that I watched it.

I don't like the story so much because I think it went too fast, I couldn't get their romantical feelings to my heart until the last episode... my heart couldn't handle the last episode </3
