Shinichi writes his novel every night, while Yuko goes out at night to date men. She is conflicted with her feelings to act as a strong parent and to deal with her unspeakable loneliness. In both series the man is much younger than the woman and while the relationship starts as too people that make a sort of contract, they end up getting close to each other.

One is fantasy and the other not, but both are about the lonely FL discovering the ML who is injured, taking him home with her, and keeping him as her pet.

Both dramas are about a career woman...known to be tough & cold...is lost between the Sunbae she loved for a long time & the younger man who comes to live with her...Who will she choose in the end?

The main similarity is the on/off mode of our main character and their need to hide their insecurities and personality traits they think that contrast their "perfect" image(if you ask me everyone shows a different face depending on where they are anyway) . Another similarity is the sweet/demanding persona of the mls. Also both drama have a younger man/older woman romance.

Kono Otoko is more of a comedy while Kimi wa Petto is surprisingly grounded.

KWP doesn’t have explicit BDSM the way Love and Leashes does, but the aspect of dog role play and the relationship between the fl and ml is definitely a DS one. Both also delve into how engaging in DS helps relieve stress and anxiety for both parties in different ways.
