The story and characters

I really liked this season and personally liked this season more than the second one. The characters and story was good i'd say, i love the friendship they all have, and really liked each characters stories, i really liked the second lead more than the actual lead, like i prefer the female lead and second leads relationship more than the actual lead, since its more interesting and I really recommend watching this if you like a simple romance drama and also a drama that is about friends and family!

Very fun, I was laughing out loud!

Very fun, I was laughing out loud. Love the actors Choi Ri as "Oh Ga Rin" and Kang Tae Oh "Choi Hoon"! I actually wanted to see more of them in the drama, but I can understand that their characters could be overpowering for the drama if used too much (like a flavorful spice in a dish). The writers left me wanting more of these two actors, which is good I think. Haha...

There's some drama, but the laughs especially from the two mentioned actors fed my soul. Thanks, hope you enjoy it as well!

Heartwarming slice of life drama

If you are in the mood for something light hearted and fluffy, feel good and cute, then go for this. There is nothing really special about the characters but the way their friendships, interactions and feelings are depicted makes you feel included into their world. The ML and side characters are quite charming and funny. The best parts of the show were when all the friends were together celebrating or just hanging out. There wasn't anything special about the FL character, her story felt too melodramatic and pathetic, nevertheless her optimism in the face of it all that everything will still be okay and the future could still turn out better was quite inspiring.
Coming to the negative aspects of it - I didn't feel much of romantic vibes between the main leads but there is a depth of feeling in their friendship which makes it somewhat worthwhile. At no point do they show the FL developing any romantic feelings about the ML. Her choosing the ML over the boyfriend in terms of priority could simply have been explained as loyalty and genuine friendship where the situation required her to absolutely be there for there for her friend the way he was there for her. Maybe that's why their romance is left till the very last episode. The way she quietly left with her boyfriend without a backward glance at Tae after he was there for her on her most difficult day felt cruel and thoughtless, not in line with her character at all. it feels like the FL was too self absorbed to bother to understand all the family issues of her boyfriend who deserved more, or even the feelings of her best friend Tae. It would have been more fun to have some cliched scenes of jealousy and possessiveness between the leads to show their feelings change, rather than just verbal expressions of it towards the end.
I'm happy the second lead didn't go off disgruntled and heartbroken, but was given a somewhat graceful exit saving face. To sum it up, it was a one time pleasant binge watch experience but not so special that I would rewatch it.

Charming, warm, and lovely--but incomplete! The season doesn't have a real ending and is cut off in the middle of the story. Also wanted to note that, despite the series being mostly lighthearted, there is a brief plot related to a character considering suicide which may be triggering for some.

We have not one but TWO genuinely nice male leads, which is refreshing. I love the focus on friendship between the four housemates. I'm really hoping Netflix renews this so we can finish the story.

LOVE THIS DRAMA

I loveee this show! its just so cute how the four housemates get so close and look out for one another and from their own family as each go them have family issues. This show is almost a 10/10 however I wish they showed a little more of when the ML actress falls in love with the ML actor because the ML Actor's love was very clearly shown. But on the whole would definitely recommend! the side role also do an amazing job keeping the drama lively and fun. The OST is just soooo cute and definitely will get you hooked on to the song.

Heart warming up-coming drama

Amazing drama with amazing characters and heart warming friendship. The story happens around four characters with different background stories that come together because of unexpected situations and decided to move and live in the same house. Its definitely one of the best Netflix dramas that will make you cry and laugh at the same time. A funny and light mini drama you can bingle watch in a weekend. Also, it´s really good to see Jisoo as a main lead, having a performance in this series that is really worth watching.

Captivating. It is a drama with no special element, I have watched the original version, so everything was predictable and cliche and I am not supposed to like it because I didn’t love the original version very much. But everything is just captivating and I cant explain why. Maybe it is Tae Oh’s charm, or the vibe that everyone’s friendship gives…Anyway it is a very refreshing, very easy to watch and a drama that can feel like a friend of yours.

Lighthearted, fun and cute.

I really enjoyed it, every scene is beautifully shot (all the locations and settings are beautiful), the music, the editing, everything makes it enjoyable to watch. On the other side, the story is quite basic, it doesn't have any interesting mystery or deeper meaning, it's just a bunch of young people having fun and going through hardships together. Sometimes the acting is over the top and a bit cringy, so you have to be able to endure that if you want to watch it.
I laughed a lot, cried a couple of times, other times i got quite frustrated.
Overall, it's a cute fun thing to watch when you just want to get entertained for a bit.

Very nice story! I like how it gets very cheesy, but cute at the same time. I was so happy wish Song-i and Do-hyeon's relationship, but they ended up having tae-oh and song-i together. I didn't like that part because the chemistry between (Do-hyeon & Song-i) was great, but didn't last.I watched a lot of dramas that had the same issues. You would feel bad for the second lead cause the chemistry together is just too good. Anyways I loved all the cast, just hoping they would continue the love story of Do-hyeon and Song-i.

This drama is a very nice and sweet drama to watch. The story is funny, light, simple, relatable, and with 8 episodes it is totally binge worthy. I like how nothing was too cheesy and cringe-worthy in this drama.

The characters have their own unique personalities which is what I love in this drama. Despite coming from different family backgrounds they all came together to be friends, and support each other's success and failures without judgement. The development of friendship and romance between the lead characters was very well written and executed too! The actors did great on their roles, Jinyoung and Jisoo did not fail to meet my expectations. They are both very boyfriend and lead actor material.

I also like how the scriptwriter created two opposite characters as best friends namely Tae Oh (Jisoo) an easy going guy who is liked by everyone, and is lucky that he doesn't have to worry about many things, while Do Hyeon (Jinyoung) is mature and realistic when it comes to dealing with his studies, future, and relationships.

I don't know if there will be a season 2 for this because the ending was totally cut off weirdly, well, it can end that way with Tae Oh (Jisoo) finally realizing what how he feels, but if it will have a season two then count me in!!! i will definitely watch out for it. Can't wait for more Do Hyeon because he's totally my type of guy!~

My First First Love was the first Korean TV show I watched, and I finished both the first and the second season very recently. (But I’ll only talk about the first season here).

First of all, the show is very bright, and the camerawork is really nice. It has a very sunny, bright aesthetic. The actors are quite good, the male lead has a lot of charisma and the second leads are also perfectly cast. And, the music sets the sunny, youthful theme too.

I thought the story was okay, however I got a bit bored at times. But, it’s very easy to distract me haha so I think it might be fine for someone else. Not too much happens within the plot, but it’s one of those shows that you watch to turn off anyway.

However, would I watch this again? Probably not. Would I recommend this? Maybe. I think it was just a show that was “okay” for me. There was nothing wrong with it, I just think that the plot wasn’t very engaging for me (however I think the ending was pretty good admittedly). Despite its weaknesses, My First First Love is still quite a good show that is quite nice to watch :)

Great story premise and excellent actors

I loved the intro/story premise! The show starts off with the main characters' back stories, and how all of Tae-o's friends ended up coming to live at his house. My favorites were Tae-oh and Choe Hun. Choe Hun's actor in particular was great; I first saw him as the main ML in Extraordinary Attorney Woo; how he acts there as more serious Lee Jun Ho versus here is so different! It really shows his incredible talent and versatility as an actor!

Season 1 was very, very solid. It was becoming one of my favorite dramas (although I did not particularly like Dohyeon's character). I binge watched the first 8 episodes in one day and was fully ready to give it a 10/10 score. I was super surprised it only had a 7.5/10 rating on mydramalist. In the middle of season 2, the story got began to drag, but overall, great show! Would recommend for a relatively light, fluffy watch with funny characters.

*spoilers below* I can understand why some stars are docked off. Song-i's perpetual despondent sad face was getting to be too much during Season 2. She is like this for many episodes back to back in Season 2. I also particularly disliked Dohyeon's character. Mostly though, I don't know why basically everyone is looking for their mother. A bit too much angst and drama. Dohyeon's character was getting more and more annoying as well.
