I'm not really sure how I feel about this drama. I don't want to say that I really enjoyed it but I don't want to say that I dislike it either.

Great things in this drama:
-the acting
-the chemistry between the main lead actors
-it's loosely based off a real person in history
-formidable villains
-the pace generally isn't too slow unlike many dramas
-some character development
-happy ending unlike many read more Chinese historical dramas
-well thought out uses of symbols and cinematography

Bad things in this drama:
-the setup for the ending
-frustrating villains but this is what the drama intended so it's not actually a bad thing

In comparison, the good things should outweigh the one real bad thing, which is the ending. However, the ending really decides how good the drama is. I don't want to give any spoilers, but the drama writers kinda pulled a deux ex machina from their butts at the end which I wasn't particularly happy about. I appreciate the effort to end the drama on a positive note but still...

In any case, the journey through most of the drama itself will probably negate the weird ending. I'm rating the rewatch value lower because I'd skip all the angsty villainy parts and just rewatch the good romantic scenes. Overall, pretty good drama!

This drama was just WOOOW big times.!!!!!

I have never seen such an amazing chemistry between the lead couple. EVER. Whenever they were together it was like seeing fireworks. Seriously.! I have seen so many dramas but this has by fare the best chemistry ever.

Wallace was amazing at his role. His acting was superb and so believable. As was XiaoRans. An amazing female and male couple. APPLAUDS!!!
The acting was generally read more great from the whole cast and deserves a perfect score.

Wallace was so great at his jealousy scenes that I melted every time. Not only by that but the kisses killed me on the spot. That's how good it was.! xD
And yeah the guy is FREAKING HOTTTTT. Ahhhh. I will never get a guy like that.

The story was great and really intense. It hooked me really well and kept me wanting to watch more and more. Episode by episode.
A lot of stuff happens but not at the same time so it's build very well. I liked the flow. It was almost perfect. ^^

I got MAD, SAD, IN A KILL MODE, DEVASTATED, HOT, HAAPPPYYY, OVERJOYED and COOLED down again. So this was a very joyful ride since it ended happy too. YEAHH

Though I'am still in a mood of not knowing what to do with my love for the 2. lead guy. He was soo sweet and deserved more too. But I already knew and wanted her to end up with by BIAS, the lead guy!! :D

Anyways I would say this is a very recommendable drama for u guys who likes HOT chemistry beside some action and drama. Especially if you are in a drama-slump. It will wake you up right away. If I were you I would watch it! Believe me you have never seen anything like this. The chemistry! WOW.

The setting is a similar time period. There is a war turmoil and yet two people meet and fall in love.
Both stories have male leads that are from a militaristic type background and the leader of a large group that controls lots of territory. The lady is engaged to another man but another man comes into her life.

Both are pre-modern era romance dramas. 'Too Late To Say I Love You' is set in 1930s China while the 'Suparburoot Chuthatep' series is set in 1950s Thailand. So both feature period costumes, sets & culture, especially of the upper-class, which is just really gorgeous.

Both feature main female leads who come from a different background/ class from the male lead, which forms part of the conflict in the shows.

Both male leads are from old, established, wealthy and powerful families and have high standing in society. Both male leads fall in love very early in the show and are rather single-minded in pursuing their ladies.

Both shows have crazy, obsessive second female leads who have known the male lead for years and consider him their property. There are also the childhood engagement trope, fake relationship/ marriage trope too.

Note: "Khun Chai Puttipat" is Part 3 on a series of 5 brothers (it focuses on the 3rd brother's romance). It can be watched as a stand-alone, but it would help immensely if you read the synopsis of the first 2 brothers ("Khun Chai Taratorn" and "Khun Chai Pawonruj"), to provide some background and context.
Alternatively, you could also watch the other brothers' shows because they all have different conflicts, settings and personalities which makes each show unique and compelling.

I regret very much for watching this drama the end was sad .. it was great at start but it turned into great disappointment at many times as the story line progressed ...as a lover of drama ..I say it could be better and waste of great potential..

Well, what a mess. I wish she ends up with the doctor

Forget about passion, I am more interested in how she coppes the betrayal.

Plenty of lessons here: love can't be forced. Karma is a bitch. War is ugly.

    Great drama series

This drama feels older than it actually is. A big problem I have with modern drama is it tries to make the romance too unorthodox so that it can be interesting or "fresh", why not just keep it classic sometimes. This one goes the opposite extreme, it's too old-fashioned that it's hard to watch.

Are you kidding me? What made this drama great was indeed the fact that the romance went totally against the grain of the usual childish, idiotic & cheesy type romance that's common in the Asian drama sphere. For once I didn't have to roll my eyes until they almost fall out of my head. I hope they kill all the classic romance bs & continue with interesting & fresh!

I kind of want to watch this but no English subs anywhere online, sadly. All the previous links either don't work or had the videos removed. If anyone stumbles across any, let me know.

I'm at episode 21 and I need to vent a little.... UGGGHHHHHHHH that horrible woman I want to strangle her... and the ex-fiancee too. I'm so annoyed, I really like this drama but those two, and the father in the past few episodes, have really annoyed me to the point of a headache. xD

I don't think it's a SPOILER if I don't say who does it, but still, read with caution the next lines if you don't want to know anything about the series beforehand:

In ep 10, I found it hilarious (yet a bit disturbing lol) how they transition from nearly sexual assault to discussion of war strategy...

To anyone asking about subs: I just started watching on VIKI and at least 2 first episodes worked perfectly.

I'm at the ep where you said everything goes downhill and you're right, I love this series but I think from this point onwards it will drag a lot.
