I think a lot of times we find ourselves looking for drama that is 'different'. Well, here's one for you. This drama manages to be cute and fresh without any makjang, birth secrets, evil relatives, amnesia, tragedy, abuse, crime or unbearable second leads. It felt like a breath of fresh air.

Not to say that this is a story wholly deprived of cliches. Of course, it does have a love triangle/square and read more some romantic conflicts between the main leads. Refreshingly, for a change the conflict between the leads comes from within themselves and not any external sources (which I usually hate).

What I liked was that the characters seemed realistic and relatable on a certain level. They are both very, very normal people trying to juggle their love lives and careers- like most of us do. So this drama has its relatable aspects to it like career, life, aging and love. But don't worry. It's not a boring drama and there are enough laughs and light moments to keep one entertained. :D

Anyway, it takes a long time for the characters to fall in love. So if you're like me who prefers a build-up before love, you'll definitely like this drama. It is nice to watch these two people become strangers to friends and then friends to lovers. After all, cohabitation between two people of the opposite gender has to lead somewhere, right? This IS dramaland we are talking about here. :D

The story on the whole seemed to me like a mixture of My Best Friend's Wedding and the Taiwanese drama In Time With You (I read somewhere that both shows have the same producers). At times, this story seemed to me like an alternative universe to In Time With You. There's even a reference to that drama in the first episode!

I have to say that I liked all the subplots in this drama. There are many sub-romances also which were all likable. The friends of Ji An Lei were hilarious (Tiffany!) and supportive. He Wei Ting was also a sweetheart for the majority of the show. I did have problems with the female lead's character at times but she grows later on so she kind of redeems herself. I also had doubts about the main pairing but they managed to have good chemistry throughout the show. Also, there is an age difference between them but it isn't so apparent.

I also liked the ending of the drama. Being a Taiwanese drama, it dragged more than required but it didn't get unbearable. Watch this drama if you're bored with usual cliches and are looking for a good story.

before i go any further with this review, please let me say here that i have only watched a handful of Taiwanese dramas. BUT among those few, this could very well be the best i've seen.
the OTP's chemistry is totally off the charts! their acting, spot-on! i can feel their pain, their frustrations, their happiness, their emotions.
the only reason i put an 8 for rewatch value instead of a 9 read more or 10 is because i rarely rewatch dramas that i've seen. but i wouldn't be surprised if i catch myself taking another peek at an episode or a scene from this drama in the foreseeable future.

Both are about succesful, single working women in their 30s. They have a very similar vibe...The director of In Time With You was also part of creating The Pursuit of Happiness.

you get the office dynamics, old love vs a new love, successful career woman and nice chemistry between leads. PoH has more female friendships. Both have elements of over the top comedy at the beginning and end of the series

I ended up binge watching this, so I didn't find it slow at all. It's something different from the usual Taiwanese romantic comedies I'm used to seeing. I really enjoyed it.

my first time that side charas destroy a pretty good romance.. i mean everone besides the main cast(hre friends and his friends) tries to destroy what they have whatever it was...

i liked no over dramatic makjang like explosions but a coll steady modern romance which makes you yearn for it...

Even with 13 eps they manage to drag it out for no reason. The drama for why they couldn't get together was so stupid. In the end I wanted to here more about what happened with her friends instead of the main couple. I had to fast forward every single time they went into philosophical rants about love and life. Especially Yi Kang. It was like just get together and stop talking and whining about it. I didn't really care for this show.

I had to force myself to finish the 1st episode!....... Yet I continued....why?????
This show is very, very, very, slow.... 1/2 way thru drama and they have just started to notice each other...
Boring writing, and very bad acting... and no chemistry at all for main couple...

The lead actor seems fine, handsome and appealing on screen.... He's the only one!
The lead actress is so very annoying!... ..... She can not act at all....... ...... She is very 'fake'..... and her face has so much botox and plastic surgeries, it is completely expressionless!.....
Plus, sorry to say this, I find her very unattractive...... everything : her dull personality..... her plain face..... her monotone voice..... her lanky body w/ no curves .... .....
but worst of all ... is her acting! :P

..... I'm dropping it ...... nothing interesting is just torture.
Too bad, b/c I liked the plot line and the 2 lead male actors were OK.

The way she shows off her lanky body w/ exposed belly and the shortest shorts -
I swear I saw 3 in. of her "Cheeks" in the orange shorts when she stood up (ep 5 or 6).....
Mwaahhaaahhaa .... the only entertaining part of the series!... XD

Do they allow that in Chinese dramas? I thought I was watching European TV or cable. ;)

It was an okay drama. Kinda of draggy at parts, but I liked all the creative directing while the characters were mussing over things so those scenes didn't get boring. Needed a tighter script for sure, though. And that acting... it felt incredibly awkward to me for about half the drama. Then, either I got used to it or the leads improved by the second half.

More of an in-between drama, though I can see the similarities between how In Time With You was shot/produced, it really fell short of reaching the same level. The actors took a really long time to get into characters, so the first few episodes are a little stiff. But overall not bad, it does drag a bit but thankfully not as much as is the norm for Tdramas.

I want to reach into the screen and smack the lead girl. I am four episodes in and she is driving me nuts. Eye rolling, telling our lead guy to shut up, being overall just annoying and majorly selfish. The lead guy is so sweet. Nevermind that Tony Yang is freaking hot. His character has feelings and they aren't self centered. I am hoping this gets better. I really want to finish it.

This is a short a sweet drama; a very good drama overall :) If you're looking for something to watch, definitely don't skip past this! Had me smiling at the end :D Both leads were fantastic and the male lead Huang Yi Kang is so totally my favourite !!
