These two dramas are both special forces C-Dramas! Same trope as falling in love and then meeting each other again many years later!

Both dramas are about first love.
The leads are different, yet despite their differences, they fall in love.
They are separated by fate's order and are reconciled when they are adults.
The tones are somewhat different, as le coup the foudre is fluffy and warm, yet Road home is a bit of a melodrama. Both are very romantic and swoon-worthy

Both dramas have similar premise and the same mature writing and sweet romance. Male leads have similar professions as well. Although female leads have entirely different professions and roles in the story, both of them have similar attributes and backgrounds.

The storyline of both dramas has nothing in common really, but both of the dramas somehow give the same kind of feeling. The kind of feeling that you are watching a real-life couple romancing each other. I mean the chemistry between both couples was perfect. The writing was mature and believable. The production quality of both of the dramas was really good.

- Both are modern romances about teen loves reuniting as adults
- First half is very strong in both dramas
- Themes on the fulfillment of patriotic work are extremely prominent
- The male lead comes from a dysfunctional family background, but is virtuous, exceptionally talented and restrained, the female lead is bright, talented, and privileged
- The male lead doubts that he can give the female lead the life she deserves
- Both have a cute precocious boy who gets shuttled around

On one hand the Road Home is much more cinematic, with some very beautiful outdoor shot scenes. On the other hand, the female role in Road Home is not a fully flushed out character. Her role the whole way through is to be supportive when no one else in his life is. She doesn't have the same agency as in Here We Meet again.

Both male leads are or were in special forces (one a SWAT captain and the other an Army captain), and they both are men of few words, letting their actions speak for them.
Both female leads have their own careers and ambitions.
Both dramas have height differences between the main couple, no love triangle and reunions after a period of time has passed. (One is high school sweethearts finding their way back to each other. While the other one is a reunion after a rescue.)
Both dramas are dramas are adapted from novels as well.
Most importantly, both dramas are sweet and slow love stories with devoted male leads.

Both dramas are focused on First Love ( one in school and one in college).
The leads are quite different but fall in love anyways and are separated by fate's plan.
Both dramas show the leads with heavy baggage in their lives.
The lovers reconcile years later and still love each other.
Road home is focused more on the couple after reconciliation and is really romantic, Yet L&P has a darker tone and the leads take a while before they can reconcile fully.

Synopsis

The drama tells the story of how an ordinary girl Xia Guo chooses when faced with two different choices, and what happens. The drama is presented in parallel time and space. The different choices of the heroine will lead to different endings. There are the challenges and dilemmas of the big city; but on the other hand, there is the stability and triviality of the small town. In life it is always necessary to make concessions, without fear of loss, and moving forward to embrace that sense of the "extraordinary." If life could have other versions, and the "if" could be experienced, what would it look like? The drama realizes this "if" so that the heroine experiences two lives in parallel. How she will handle those choices is the big question.

"I live elsewhere" (from original title in chinese).
