Since this is a 9-minute per episode mini series, I went into this drama with pretty low expectations. I was trying to find something to pass the time with, so I tried one episode and instantly got hooked. The episodes flew by and before I knew it, I had binged half of the drama in a single sitting. It also became my all time favorite short web drama!

The story is about comic book characters becoming self-aware, so right off the bat it reminded me of Extraordinary You and W: Two Worlds, but it still manages to be original. This drama occasionally pokes fun at C-drama cliches and never takes itself too seriously. In fact, the drama is an altered adaptation (kind of like a parody) of a very corny romance novel that actually exists in real life.

Story follows our FL who is a self-aware comic book actress. She has a lot of experience playing the female antagonist in different comics, and since she retains the memories of each comic, her actual personality is cunning, smart and anti-heroish. (Seldom do we see smart female leads in these kinds of Asian dramas, so this point alone is enough for this drama to score high!) She is tasked to play an antagonist again in a new comic, but when she is thrown into that world, a system error occurs and she ends up become the female lead instead, all the while retaining her self-awareness and villainous personality. Due to the mishap, the male lead (I denote him as OG-ML) which she is supposed to romance with is temporarily incapacitated, and she crosses paths with the male antagonist (ML in this drama) instead. Since both FL and ML have villainous personalities, they start playing 4-dimensional chess with each other and always correctly guess each other's intentions. Not only do they have chemistry, they're pretty much the same kind of person, like a match made in heaven. I really enjoyed their interactions. Feelings of love happen early on but naturally, unlike many dramas with rushed and half-baked romance lines. They even came up with a good excuse to add kissing scenes that can be explained by the plot.

In the later half of the drama is where the suspense kicks in and it kept me at the edge of my seat after every episode. I really could not predict what would happen next with all the plot twists. The drama ticks all the right boxes. And even though it's short, it never felt rushed or shallow. It probably told a better story than a lot of full length dramas.

I recommend this drama to anyone who likes fantasy romance. There's literally no reason not to try this - it's short so even if you end up not enjoying it, it's not a huge waste of time.

Positives:
- We get to see romance between two villainous characters, which is very uncommon
- We have a smart and cunning FL who can defend herself
- Plot makes fun of drama cliches (even FL points out how cheesy some of the plot is)
- Unpredictable twists and turns, engaging from start to finish
- Liu Xie Ning's acting really stands out

Negatives:
- Why in the world is this drama so short, when some way shxxier dramas get 30+ episodes?
- Characters are paper-thin, they have no backstory except the several lines of description given to them by the comic
- Certain plot points make no sense at all, such as the knife stabbing scenes in the drama
- The logic of the comic world is unclear and inconsistent, causing problems to arise and get resolved out of the blue without a convincing explanation. This is one of those dramas that are not to be taken too seriously.

Antagonists in love?

So, listen here, the story goes like this:
Qiqi is a character in the comic-world, who has always played the female supporting role (antagonist) and thus is very experienced in that. But due to a system error, in the next comic she is sent to, she mistakenly has to play the part of the female lead instead, which she is not familiar with at all. Because of this sudden realization, she accidentally injures the male lead of the comic, making him unconscious for some time. During those days, as the comic-ML is down, the main story of the comic can't start, and is instead changed and dragged out by the comic's supporting female lead chasing the female lead. Qiqi, trying to escape the situation, runs right into the arms of Leng Yehan - the male supporting role (antagonist). She feels safe with him, because she is aware he doesn't have a love-story in the comic, plus she knows his secrets, with which she threatens him to help her during this period of time. With this unplanned connection, a new love-story evolves.

The quality and acting were pretty decent for such a short drama/mini drama. There were also lots of fun scenes that made me laugh out loud, as well as some adorable ones. But I'm most surprised about the very interesting story-line. There are currently lots of short C-Dramas coming out, in which the female lead time travels, or is pulled into a drama-, book- or comic-world. But "Night of Love With You" still felt fresh. I was entertained throughout the whole drama, I binged it within a few hours.

What I also loved are the Main Leads of the drama (Qiqi and Leng Yehan). Qiqi was not cutesy, nor over the top. I actually found her pretty cool. Although she had to abide to the story of her comic character, she let us know her thoughts about those annoying clichés used in dramas/comics, haha. I also loved Yehan. Although he changed after meeting Qiqi, he didn't take a complete 180 degree turn. Some character traits of his stayed through the whole drama, which I'm glad about. Fortunately, Qiqi only had to act FL-like when the comic-ML was around, so with Yehan she could be herself xD I also really love the ending! <3

Don't be scared off by the Love Square tag. It wasn't that bad, plus it's essential for the story. That's what made the story interesting. I also loved how some characters were forced to certain key-events of the comic, and got conscious of it. Pretty cool.

Still, I have lots of questions. Given the short length, they focused on the relationship of the characters most. Otherwise they could have made it a full length series and focused on all aspects here. Like… what is outside the comic-world? Why is Qiqi aware of the comic-world and plays her role in different comics, while other characters don't? What are the rules and tricks in the comic world? They could also have dug deeper into the character's stories, etc etc...

This is worth watching

This was pretty good over tons of dramas I have watched. This has the comic character kind of story, the start was truly captivating but the reason i minused off a 0.5 was because of around the last 4 episodes it was a little disappointing around there. However, almost the entire thing is super good, I reccommend this alot if you are tired and just want a break. Also, the male lead is pretty good looking and you may or may not cry when watching this, it depends. I really would reccommend this! However, when you watch a new drama each time, you should have an open mind to truly enjoy the process of the drama. Thank you for your time if you read this!

Extraordinary You goes CEO revenge plot

This is the story of the professional comic book villain who happened to end up in the body of the protagonist... and well that marks the start of this funny comic rich boy good girl rom com parody... As we get to hear this smart girls thoughts about the cliche plot. While watching her actually have to do stuff...

To begin with the girl has a heart condition that requires kisses from men from a certain gene pool as medicine and who would not want to kiss a handsome male lead or villain to avoid death by heart attack? Ridiculous yes but done well and indeed a lot of fun to watch. It also makes way for a whole lot of kissing in pretty much every episode, the kisses may not be steamy but they are humorous.

What I enjoyed was the smart leads, the whole examining my oh so loved cliches from a bunch of angels and the kissing.

For a web series it is really good, it is in no way a masterpiece but has high entertainment value if you have seen any type of CEO revenge type drama. So if you love your cliches and can handle them being made fun of this is definitely a good choice.

One of the better ones for short Chinese dramas and highly entertaining

In recent years, Chinese entertainment have really expanded their list of short dramas and you can start to see which ones are the better ones. This is one of the better ones on every level: production, soundtrack, acting, story, and directing. Compared to bad ones--where there are a lot of inner monologue to move forward the scenes and lack of cinematography (all meant for quick consumption)--this one is longer in episode length and so have more time to develop the relationship. I definitely put this on the higher tier, among other well known short dramas like "Queen of Attack" and "The Killer is also Romantic."

Premise: A manga character who typically plays the female villain role in stories gets a new assignment: she is to be the female villain character for the romance story of a domineering CEO & pure-hearted kind girl. However, after she entered the world, she somehow took over the role as the female lead! To survive against the female villain while the male lead is in a coma, she teams up with the male villain.

The chemistry between the characters is sizzling and the story is so fun as the character makes fun of typical cliches and tropes (while being stuck in it) and there's actually several twists that had me on my toes since I didn't expect it. At the same time, there is a bit of a fun tragic/angsty aspect: as characters in a story, you're stuck to follow the story--but what happens when you break from the story? I love these kinds of dramas.

Overall, a very entertaining drama with memorable scenes and several good songs and especially a breakout moment for the main leads: Liu Xiening and Guan Yue. They have great visuals and look really good together!

When two hot villains fall in love with each other

This mini drama is about the female lead who is a comic book character with her own consciousness. She always plays the supporting role of the villain however in the new comic story, she is unexpectedly the heroine who ends up falling for the villain.

The best part of this transmigration story was that the story takes place in a comic book which meant the writers had the creative freedom to bend the story’s reality in an engaging way.

POSITIVE:
- Villain/morally grey male lead and female lead.
- Lots of kiss scenes!
- Love story of a morally grey couple (very rare to see).
- Top notch comedy.
- Lots of cool twists and turns.
- Plot that is just as good as the romance.
- Hot second female lead (I always find these obsessive female characters annoying but this one was cunning and looking stunning)
- Binge-worthy (I watched it in one sitting)

NEGATIVE:
None! It’s truly one of those rare dramas where I can’t think of anything I really disliked.

OVERALL:
If you want a mini drama with crazy twists where two hot villains fall in love with each other, watch this.

Worth watching

Not sure why doesn't have a higher rating. The series is on the short side but it keeps the plot moving and one of the few I've re-watched as it doesn't take forever to get through . The female lead refuses to play the character as it's "written" and this creates some really funny scenes.

I like how since both of the characters are a villain neither of them really understands being in love and it had to be explained to them. One they do both of them are willing to sacrifice for the other.

Story does have a HEA but they could still go with a season 2. Crossing my fingers even if actors play a couple in another series, they just had great chemistry together.

Fine watch, but a bit disappointing... I wish they would give us 2 season

This is a good and entertainment watch for a short drama. It has nice quality, good vis-dev and interesting plot. The concept of parallel universe in comic universe isn't anything new, but it's still little used and has a great potential. Within such a fictional world when an author can set any rule and doesn't make them any logical, you can push the story how far you like. That's why the concept is interesting - the plot is unpredictible because it doesn't have to stick to true world's rules nor logical sense. I wish they would push it more in this drama. When I started watching it, I really hoped for more ridiculous, surprising turn-overs and I wouldn't mind plot wholes. Sadly the story writers decided to play it safe. There could be more fantasy elements and comedy - instead writers focused on the fast paced plot development and it didn't give justice. I feel I didn't get the thing I was looking for in this drama.
What's more to say... The pace of the story is good. It looks like a drama with fine budget. Actors did fine job. Characters were interesting. It's an entertaining drama to watch in around 4 hours. Not too long, not very short, just fine. In my opinion, there are still things that the story might use for the plot, to show us more. If they were to make 2nd season, I would definitely watch it.

THE FL WITH A SHARP TONGUE!!

This is my fav mini drama<<<<<
Just give it a shot!

I didn't read the plot when i started watching the drama. So It was more worth it. Though it was not perfect, i love the FL! . Falling in love with a villain while she used to play villain for stories. They did not fall in love, right away. BUT THEY DID. I was laughing most of the time because of the FL's consciousness. The ml has a reasonable past though the show didn't focus much on that. It clearly conveyed the purpose to seek revenge!

Villains were always the best (and this drama proves it)

To be honest, I watched this drama because it's really fast to finish it lmao but the comic thing is something which attracts me a lot (Extraordinary You and Pop Out Boy can say it better than me ~~) so I gave it a try.

The story is about Qi Qi, a comic character who's always chosen to be a villain, so her main mission is to separate our main couple. But the thing is: this new story called "Night Of Love With You" she's chosen, incorrectly, to be our female lead, the pure and good girl who's poor and sick that needs to fall for the CEO to have a great life/romance. Although she's chosen as the female lead, she also is conscious this time (she knows she's on a comic book and she can talk freely as the way she thinks), so she knows something is really wrong.

The story goes on and Qi Qi meets our main male villain, Ye Han, who hates his brother (the ML) to the point he just wants kill him and the person his brother loves. They meet and Ye Han really feels a bit attracted to her odd behaviour (since he knows she's someone his brother showed some interest) and also he feels a bit threatened because she knows his secret.

The drama is pretty good and both of the leads are sassy and funny. In the beginning, all Ye Han wants is to k word Qi Qi, but she says she'll announce to everyone that he's the ML brother/illegitimate son of the Mu family, and then when Qi Qi realizes she could die to solve the bug on the comic, she wants so badly to be killed by him that he refuses lmao

I loved how they fell for each other, specially because Ye Han is said to be someone who can't never fall for someone (love has no place in his heart, he's just focusing on his revenge), but the way Qi Qi changes his life's reason to loving her and being the best version of him, is truly beautiful (even though they have some consequences after that but anyways).

Qi Qi kinda reminded me of Dan Oh from EY, specially because when she was in the "shadow" (as said in EY when they weren't on a comic strip scene), she would talk the way she wanted and even punish the other villain (who actually was the real FL, but because of the bug, she turned to be the villain).

Simply an awesome drama. It's funny, emotional (cried a lot in the ending lmao), a bit apprehensive drama, but it's really good and it's worthy to watch.

Pleasantly surprised

This is the first short/1 video long drama that I've watched so I wasn't sure what to expect. I really enjoyed the format as I tend to get bored of the standard 24+ episode dramas and struggle to finish them. The story can be described as sort of an anti-drama which was super unique and interesting the whole way through. It was refreshing to have a cunning and self-reliant female lead that poked fun at tropes in dramas while also utilizing them. I really enjoyed the romance scenes and thought they had some witty dialogue that complimented their characters quite well. I will say, the actual logistics of the story became a bit muddled towards the end and I'm not sure if it was lost in translation or what. It began to drag as a result of this, and I was thankful when I reached the ending. I think the actors did a pretty good job given the material. The production and editing were a bit low budget, but it didn't deter me from watching. This drama is definitely worth the watch!

THE BEST SHORT DRAMA

First mind you this is short drama with 9 min per episodes. And by end of episode, i was hoping for the drama to be 1 hour per episode. And would love to have 2nd season on it. READ MORE BELOW !!

STORY; the drama was a about FL who are always holds a supporting role as a villain in comic worlds. One day, glitches happened and she became a good main character of the story. And she get to control herself without having to follow the original plot of the comic. And there, she met another villain character. WARNING; THEY KISSED A LOT. The story was quite is relax phase considering they had only 9 minutes per ep.
They are not cringey, but the plot are smooth. The romance are good. And what are the best about this drama. It’s the romance between two supporting characters, villain FL and villain ML. 🤣
The plot and twist will keep you wanting to watch more for every episode.

ACTING/CAST; first. I’m in love with FL, 2nd I’m in love with ML. She is beautiful and he is handsome. Both of their acting is really good and smart. The FL is smart, independent and she is a villain. She is not a weak FL like other drama where they just waiting to get slap. Not a damsel in distress waiting to be save. But this FL won’t let people step on her, and most probably she’ll step on you first. 🤣 ML is smart, always save the girl, and evil enough to keep you on toes. but at the end of the day he willing to sacrifice himself to save the girl. Twice. Sobs Sobs. And his crying scene is sad 🥹

MUSIC; there is this one song that is noticeably and i loves it. Even search in on spotify. But honestly, the OST or BGM is not really noticeable.

REWATCH; I’m rewatching it twice ady. And will rewatch again while waiting for wetv to upload new drama.
