It's so cheesy and the acting is horrible. It's supposed to be a comedy, but it's not even funny!!!

A huge disappointment.
Lovely Complex was the first anime I had ever watched so it holds a very special place in my heart. When I first watched this movie I was 8 years old and even as an 8 year-old I knew this movie sucked. I rewatched it last year thinking maybe I didn't get it as a child and maybe it was good but nope.First of all, it was extremely rushed. It skipped a lot of major events which weakened the story. It brought the original story from amazing to meh.
The acting was nothing special. It didn't need to be but I felt that the casting really didn't fit. I love Teppei but he was not suitable for Ootani imo.
The soundtrack was very forgetable unlike the anime that had amazing soundtrack that I still listen to even now.
It has no rewatch value. There's literally nothing about the movie that I enjoyed enough that I would go back and watch it again. There isn't even a good scene from it that I remember.
If this movie is your first introduction to Lovely Complex then I recommend just skipping it. Go and watch the anime or, even better, read the manga.

There were some important bits from the anime that the movie didn't have so it was kind of frustrating knowing there were particular scenes that I liked that didn't end up being shown in the live action adaptation. However, it still had its funny moments and the casts slightly exaggerated acting is definitely amusing and will have you laughing at some points!
Overall, it was bearable - it's something to watch when you have a little bit of time to spare, but it's also not something that will leave a lasting impression on you.

So far the plot/story didn’t have the big gap with the manga. The cats acting are good too, but sometimes I feel Fujisawa Ema's acting is too much, it makes unnatural. My favorite scene is on the Christmas Eve when Otani looking for Risa.

This movie is sweet, colorful, and just plain ridiculous. Therefore, I love it.I have not read the original manga it's based on (although I plan to), but I could tell the writers were really speeding through the story (kind of like a bear rummaging through a picnic basket). There's an odd balance between moments that were clearly meant to be over the top, moments that were clearly not meant to be over the top but were anyway, and moments where you weren't sure if they were going for over the top or not (especially towards the end). But it's just so dang cute that I don't care.
And this review would not be complete without mentioning how much I love the fashion sense of our main characters. They were just so dang colorful!
