Sukitte Ii na yo gets a live action movie adaptation
It’s been revealed that Hazuki Kanae's hit manga Sukitte Ii na yo ( Say ‘I love you’) will get a live action adaptation in the near future. The manga is serialized in the monthly manga magazine Dessert ever since 2008, and it already had a TV anime back in 2012 which raised its popularity enormously.
The manga tells the story of Tachibana Mei, a 16-year-old high school girl who lives a shy life with innocent thoughts; she’s friendless, and she never had a relationship with a boy before. Then one day, she bumps into Kurosawa Yamato; the most popular boy in school, that encounter made him show interest in Mei and he declared that he wanted to be friends with her even one-sidedly. As their friendship grew, he once kissed her in order to save her from a perverted stalker and thus things started to develop between those two.
The movie is to be released in 2014 while the details about the cast members and the exact day of release are yet to be announced.
I saw the anime, and if you haven’t then you should. It had one of the best animations. I liked the art a lot, and the story was cool too. It’s absolutely a slice of life but not melodrama, so I am sure that the live action adaptation was a good choice. Basically, if you liked Kimi Ni Todoke, Bokura Ga Ita Zenpen, and Kouhen I am sure you will like this. I will be waiting for the cast members; I hope they will bring us good actors who can pull this off.

If you’re not convinced yet, here’s the trailer of the first movie that shows the amazing fight choreography and the swordplay:
The films are to be released in summer 2014, but the exact date is yet to be announced.
I am in the process of watching the anime. I like anything that has to do with Samurai and swordplay so it’s a given that I am enjoying this. I delayed watching the first movie until I finish the anime, because that’s always my process: Manga or anime then the live action adaptation. Now that there will be two sequels, I can take my time to finish it and watch all the three together.
