I've been away from the News department for too long, right? Maybe coming back with a packed News article can allow me to get away with my deed. Without any further delay, here's what's happening in Korean dramaland these days:

Cunning Single Lady Premiers this week

Oh well, here comes another romantic comedy that we all hope it will keep the interesting pace. The premise of Cunning Single Lady (aka Sly and Single Again) is simple and should be somewhat attractive to romantic comedies lovers; a divorced couple that reunites again - but wait isn’t that Emergency Couple’s plot? Anyway, I am sure there are some differences since the male lead was an unsuccessful man that his wife divorced him and now he’s a mega rich person. His wife on the other hand, decides to meet a multi-billionaire person after her failed marriage and is shocked to know that her dorky husband has become one heck of a rich businessman, and quite attractive too. Now, her mission is to make him fall in love with her all over again.

The Main Cast:
Lee Min Jung  as Na Ae Ra
Joo Sang Wook  as Cha Jung Woo
Kim Kyu Ri  as Gook Yeo Jin
Seo Kang Joon  as Gook Seung Hyun

Here are the posters and some teaser images:

Trailers:

I was thinking about watching this for Joo Sang Wook’s sake because man, he is a good actor that I appreciate seeing around. Now, I completely changed my mind after seeing the teasers and the path this drama is going to take. Who am I kidding, romantic comedies aren’t for me! But I am sure those of you who appreciate entertaining rom-com would enjoy this.

Three Days releases more posters and teasers

The upcoming SBS Thriller Three Days is probably the only future Kdrama I am looking forward to; whenever there’s something different, you can count me in anytime. The plot's clear enough: the president’s life is threatened and his ace bodyguard has to protect him with his life and reveal the one behind the assassination order. Is that exciting enough? For the lovers of the genre, yes, and for the lovers of YooChun, absolutely! Did you hear the last line our high level patriot said: “You can’t kill the president until you kill me.” I am sure our charismatic president will be in good hands.

The Main Cast:
Park Yoochun as Han Tae Kyung
Son Hyun Joo as Lee Dong Hwi
Park Ha Sun as Yoon Bo Bon
So Yi Hyun as Lee Cha Young
Jang Hyun Sung as Ham Bong Su

Besides being a fan of the Thriller genre, I am one of the few people who are watching this because of Son Hyun Joo. I have no interest in YooChun at all and I still can’t see him as a good actor. But I am sure his fans would be delighted to see him in an action role.

Secret Love Affair, The daring noona romance is coming up

Here he comes, Yoo Ah In, the one who made the noonas lose their minds. Secret Love Affair is just like the title describes it; a melodrama about a love affair between a high class woman in her 40s who works as a director in an Arts foundation, and a poor man in his 20s who happens to be a genius pianist. All you need for this drama to work is hot chemistry and since this is produced by jTBC (a cable channel) then you can expect all the skin ship that Korean non-cable channels forbid.

The Main Cast:
Kim Hee Ae as Oh Hye Won
Yoo Ah In as Lee Sun Jae
Park Hyeok Kwon as Kang Joon Hyung
Shim Hye Jin as Han Sung Sook

Teasers:

This drama is totally not my thing; it contains adultery and noona romance which happens to be two of my most hated themes in Dramaland or cinema but I am sure it would be something very enjoyable and “hot” for those who are into these types of topics and those who are looking for steamy romance.

14 Days, Another time travel drama

http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/gg635/CheerfulSoul/Drama/14Days_zpsd71663ea.jpg

But it’s apparently more intense and serious. Actually, I believe 14 Days looks more like a K-thriller film more than a drama. The drama is about a mother whose daughter has been kidnapped and killed but she’s given a chance to slip back 14 days in time to start the race of saving her daughter. If we exclude the time travel part, isn’t this like Two Weeks? Where Lee Jun Ki has to prove his innocence and save his daughter in two weeks' (14 days) time? I can clearly see the resemblance even if this looks darker.

The Main Cast:
Lee Bo Young as Kim Soo Hyun
Cho SeungWoo as Ki Dong Chan
Kim Tae Woo as Han Ji Hoon
Jung GyuWoon as Hyun Woo Jin
Kim Yoo Binas Han Sa Byul

Teasers:

Unfortunately, I am bailing out of this drama. I simply cannot handle Lee Bo Young no matter what type of role she takes. I am a little sad that I can’t see Jang Gyu Woon, Cho Seung Woo and the adorable child actress Kim Yoo Bin but it’s a legitimate sacrifice for me. However, I am confident that this drama will appeal to most of you; did I mention that this comes from the same writer of Iljimae?

That would be it, which of these dramas do you plan to watch?
