Oh Eui Shik joins Lee Min Ki's new action thriller K-drama
Astro's Cha Eun Woo is in talks to join the upcoming OCN drama "Island: Season 1".
On March 2, media outlets reported that Cha Eun Woo will join the cast of upcoming drama "Island: Season 1" starring Kim Nam Gil and Seo Ye Ji.
Cha Eun Woo's agency Fantagio responded to the news and stated that the idol-actor is positively reviewing the casting offer.
If he confirms his casting, Cha Eun Woo will play the role of Kang Chan Hyuk, a hip exorcist priest who was raised in the United States. He's a bubbly character with a secret dark past.
The upcoming OCN drama "Island: Season 1" will be helmed by director Bae Jong and writer Jang Yoon Mi. It will tell the story of a man who's in search of a woman to end his cursed immortal life. Kim Nam Gil will play the role of Van, an immortal and a deadly monster hunter, and Seo Ye Ji as Won Mi Ho, the only daughter of Daehan Group.
Cha Eun Woo debuted from the k-pop boy group Astro in 2016. Aside from being an idol, he also pursued various activities. He started his first official acting role in 2017 with the KBS drama "Hit The Top" starring Yoon Shi Yoon, Cha Tae Hyun, Lee Se Young, and Kim Min Jae. He made his name known as an actor with the hit drama "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty". He also starred in several works such as "Top Management", "Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung", and more. Cha Eun Woo last appeared in the webtoon based tvN drama "True Beauty" with Moon Ga Young and Hwang In Yeop.
"Island" is slated to air on the second half of 2021.
