"Bargain" and "Island" Officially Invited to 6th Cannes International Series Festival.

TVING's original series Bargain was officially invited to a feature competition section for the 6th Cannes International Series Festival. 

Bargain competes with ten nominations for feature competition, and awards are given in five categories: Best Series, Music Award, Screenplay Award, and Actor Award.

The Cannes International Series Festival is a festival for drama and series content that recognizes and awards TV content from around the world. The festival will be held in Cannes, France from April 14-April 19 this year.

Bargain tells the story of three people trapped in a collapsed building due to an earthquake, and each starts a dangerous deal to seize the last chance to survive. 

The K-drama was released on October 28, 2022. It casts Jin Seon Kyu, Jin Seon Kyu, and Chang Ryul in the support role. 

Within the first week of the release, the series recorded the highest viewership among all TVING originals and maintained its record for two weeks. 

Along with Bargain, TVING's original series Island was also listed in the Rendez-vous section of the non-competitive section of the Cannes International Series Festival. Based on the original webtoon and comic book of the same name, Island tells the journey of people who are destined to fight against the evil that is trying to destroy the world.

Island, starring Kim Nam Gil,  Lee Da Hee, and Cha Eun Woo in the lead roles, entered the top 10 list of most popular shows in 26 countries in the Amazon Prime Video TV show category and topped the box office in 4 countries including Singapore, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. 

CCO of TVING Hwang Hye Jeong, said, "I hope that Bargain and Island will promote the competitiveness of the TVING original series to global audiences through this festival, and further promote the brand value of TVING on the overseas stage".

The Canneseries Artist Director Albin Lewi commented, "I have strong confidence in the global box office success of Bargain as the first series to be invited to the feature competition section".
