"Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Actor Kang Tae Oh is a Rookie Detective in Shin Hye Sun-Led "Target"

The upcoming K-movie Target is generating excitement with its gripping storyline and the cast, featuring Shin Hye Sun, Kim Sung Kyun, and Kang Tae Oh. Recently Target unveiled character stills of Kang Tae Oh, who will be making a special appearance as Detective Na, junior of Detective Joo (Kim Sung Kyun) of the Cyber Investigation Unit, investigating crimes related to second-hand transactions.

The film is a suspense thriller that delves into the strange events that unfold in the ordinary life of Soo Hyun, who becomes a target of crime after buying a second-hand washing machine.

With its release just around the corner, the movie Target has released character stills of actor Kang Tae Oh as he takes on the challenge of playing a detective for the first time. 

Kang Tae Oh, a rising star known for flawlessly portraying diverse characters in popular dramas such as Run On and The Tale of Nokdu, is garnering attention for his exceptional acting prowess. 

In Target, he will be making a special appearance as a dedicated rookie detective.

Of particular interest is Kang Tae Oh's portrayal of Detective Na, a character distinct from his previous role as Lee Joon Ho in the hit drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo. 

For this character, Kang Tae Oh extensively researched the lives real detectives lead and the responsibilities of rookie detectives through acquaintances. 

As a result, he meticulously constructed the nuances of his performance. In the movie, Detective Na works in the Cyber Investigation Unit, dealing with numerous cybercrime cases on a daily basis. Despite the challenges, he approaches each case with unwavering passion. He responds kindly to Soo Hyun, who reports a second-hand trading fraud, and, together with Detective Joo, relentlessly pursues the culprits. The on-screen chemistry between Detective Na and Detective Joo is one of the film's highlights.

Kang Tae Oh shared his thoughts on the role, saying, "I wanted to [take up the] challenge [of acting in] the thriller genre and portray a detective character. I consulted with an acquaintance to better understand their real-life experiences and the duties of rookie detectives in preparation for this role". He further revealed, "I invested considerable thought into the chemistry between Detective Joo and Detective Na". He expressed his commitment to the preparation process for his detective character.

The K-movie Target is set for a theatrical release on August 30th.
