Screenwriter and director Moon Ji Won, famous for her work in Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Innocent Witness, will direct the movie Deaf Voice. The upcoming mystery thriller will mark Moon Ji Won's debut as a film director. Based on the novel "Deaf Voice: Sign Language Interpreter in Court" by Masaki Maruyama, Deaf Voice will tell the story of a CODA (child of deaf adult(s)), who tries to catch the culprit of a terrible murder case that occurred 20 years ago.

Director Moon Ji Won's previous works depicted unique characters and the story inherent in the character itself becomes a driving force for captivating plots that compel us to look back on issues that we need to think about in depth.

Moon Ji Won's earlier works Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Innocent Witness bagged numerous accolades. The mystery thriller Innocent Witness won numerous accolades including Grand Prize at the 39th Golden Cinema Film Festival, Grand Prize at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards, Best Actress (Kim Hyang Gi) at the 39th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, and Best Actor (Jung Woo Sung) at the 40th Blue Dragon Film Awards, including others.

Moreover, the hit drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo - starring Park Eun Bin, Kang Tae Oh, and Kang Ki Young - won Grand Prize at the 2023 Baeksang Arts Awards. Hopefully, director Moon Ji Won's upcoming movie will also prove award-worthy.

The movie Deaf Voice, produced by Barunson Studio, is scheduled to be released in 2024. More news about the movie's casting is yet to come.
