Ha Jung Woo and Joo Ji Hoon-led Ransomed has secured sales in 103 countries.

Directed by Kim Sung Hoon and inspired by actual events, Ransomed tells the story of diplomat Min Joon (Ha Jung Woo) and taxi driver Pan Su (Joo Ji Hoon), who team up to rescue a missing diplomat in Lebanon. 

The film has garnered widespread anticipation, attracting interest not only from East Asian countries like Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam but also from global markets including the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, the Middle East, and Russia. 

Ransomed was released on August 4th in North America. It is scheduled to be released in the Philippines on the 9th,   Australia and New Zealand on the 10th, and the UK on the 18th. 

Furthermore, the film's release is scheduled for Vietnam in mid-August; and for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar in September.

Well Go USA Entertainment, the film's North American distributor, commented, "Audiences will undoubtedly be enthralled not only by the exhilarating action sequences of Ransomed but also by its heartwarming story and comedic elements". 

Taiwanese distributor, MovieCloud, commended the film, noting, "Ransomed, which carries the new and creative perspective of director Kim Sung Hoon, who achieved global success with his previous productions like Tunnel and the Kingdom series, offers thrilling action and tension". 

The sentiment was echoed by The Klockworx, the Japanese distributor, who stated, "Korean movies have consistently excelled in portraying stories set against high-stakes situations abroad, and Ransomed is bound to join the ranks of memorable masterpieces". 

Ransomed was released on August 2nd in South Korea.
