We might finally see Lee Young Ae in a new drama!
Top actress Lee Young Ae was offered to take the lead role in the upcoming drama "A Wonderful Insight".
"A Wonderful Insight" is a female centered, action-thriller which is said to be the Asian version of the British dark comedy thriller drama "Killing Eve". Reportedly, the drama will depict the breathtaking battle between a female college student killer and a female detective in her 40s who was a former police officer and an incumbent insurance investigator.
Lee Young Ae's agency responded to reports, stating that the actress did receive the offer for the drama but her appearance is yet to be confirmed. Production company KeyEast also shared that they are currently in coordination with the original Hallyu actress' appearance. They also revealed that with this casting, they are already receiving flood of requests for pioneering sales from leading platforms in China and Japan.
"A Wonderful Insight" will be helmed by Lee Jung Heum, known for his works "Nobody Knows" and "Falsify" and penned by rookie screenwriter Sung Choi. It is part of the 2021 drama lineup to be produced by KeyEast. If Lee Young Ae accepts the offer, she will play the role of the female detective in her 40s who was a former police officer and an incumbent insurance investigator.
Reports about Lee Young Ae's drama casting is gaining attention whether the actress will return to dramas after four years. Her last project was the SBS drama "Saimdang, Light’s Diary" with male lead Song Seung Heon that aired in 2017. The actress also had a successful return to the big screen in 2019 with her acting transformation in the thriller/mystery movie "Bring Me Home".
