The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) announced on September 13th that Kim Ji Yeon, the producer of Next Sohee, has been selected as the recipient of this year's Lee Chun Yeon Film Impression Award.

The Lee Chun Yeon Film Impression Award is given in honor of the late chairman of the Korean Film Association, Lee Chun Yeon, who contributed to the development of Korean cinema. It selects producers who participated in the production of outstanding Korean films and includes a prize of 10 million won. This year's jury comprises Kang Je Gyu, Shim Jae MyungYoo Ji Tae, and Jeong Han Seok. 

Next Sohee, released on May 25th, tells the story of a high school girl, So Hee (Kim Shi Eun), who goes on to train in a call center and faces workplace abuse and extreme stress. She then mysteriously dies, and Detective Yoo Jin (Bae Doo Na) decides to investigate the matter. 

Next Sohee was also selected as the closing film of the 75th Cannes Film Festival Critics' Week and has won numerous awards, including the Cheval Noir Award for Best Director and Best Asian Feature silver award in the category of Audience Award (Fantasia International Film Festival), Special Jury Award (Tokyo Filmex), Audience Award (42nd France Amiens International Film Festival), and Best Film Award at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, to name a few.

Meanwhile, the 28th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) will take place from October 4th - October 13th at various venues in the city, celebrating a ten-day festival of films.
