Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
Park Gyu Young and Jo Yu Ri will possibly be the female leads in the upcoming second season of Squid Game.
On June 23, Squid Game Season 2 held its script reading. After this, reports circulated that Park Gyu Young and Jo Yu Ri will also be joining the new season of Squid Game.
Park Gyu Young's agency Saram Entertainment and Jo Yu Ri's agency WAKEONE both briefly responded to the casting reports. According to them, they cannot confirm the casting of their artists for the upcoming K-drama Squid Game Season 2.
If Park Gyu Young officially joins Squid Game Season 2, this will be her third upcoming Netflix original K-drama. The actress is also set to lead the series Celebrity and she will also return to the new seasons of Sweet Home.
Park Gyu Young will also lead the upcoming K-drama A Good Day to be a Dog with ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, Lee Hyun Woo, Yoon Hyun Soo, Lee Seo El, and Song Young Ah
Meanwhile, this will possibly be Jo Yu Ri's debut in a Netflix original K-drama.
Squid Game Season 2 will continue to showcase the story and journey of Seong Gi Hoon, the recent winner of the mysterious survival game 'Squid Game' which has a prize of 45.6 billion won.
The upcoming new season will be led by Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Gong Yoo, Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, and Yang Dong Geun.
The new season will be helmed by director Hwang Dong Hyuk.
Squid Game Season 2 will officially start filming in the second half of 2023. Meanwhile, it aims to premiere in 2024.
