Well, normally I write them both in English and in my native language. From time to time - just in English if they're meant to be lyrics for songs of my death metal band. I hope you find reading those positive and empowering. BTW - nope - the ones here were not composed as death metal songs, lol. One was a ballad-style breakthrough though. The first one. Imagine it with a clear voice between 5 other growling songs on politics, philosophy and such :-P It has a solo too :-P After the phoenix rising verse.

Anyway, enjoy!

Hikari (Jap. light)

Sadness inside as the fire burning lines,

Crawl up in silence to heaven.

Sparks shine the skies within light of the stars,

When we walk our paths out of shadows.

Sometimes rain comes bringing  sorrow in hearts,

Sometimes makes pain fade away.

Even when shackles close we still fly with our souls,

We believe in a new better day.

Phoenix rising from ashes, leaves wake up in spring,

Even strongest cold winter gives birth to the trees,

Even if you’re alone, even if you still fall,

You have got all the power to move and go on.

Against raging storms and against tragedies,

Screaming for warmth but not choosing defeat,

You will stand for yourself, you will fight till the end,

Breaking the walls you go straight out of hell.

Against strongest winds and against darkest nights,

You are the light, you have found… your beautiful smile.

Four Seasons (in nipponland :-P)

In the Land of Rising Sun - where Sakuras bloom in Spring,

Eastern dreams are passing by - peaceful whispers of the wind.

White with red on skirts and flags, chime bell songs, old bamboo trees,

Pouring water at the shrines, dancing maidens, lovers kiss.

Summer comes, rain falls and stops bringing heat in people hearts,

Watermelon cracked at beach stays as sign of troubles gone.

Even though it soon must end, fireworks will light the sky,

Over mountains, seas, in stars - happy sparks mark last of nights.

Painted leafs lay on the ground, morning coffee smells around,

Working through the Autumn months wait for what is yet to come.

Cooking rice at midnight time, ancient buildings’ golden shine,

Winter crosses every door with New Year and presents stocks.

Snowy roads, new casted spells - for kotatsu peaceful weeks,

Frozen lakes, hot springs and cakes, Christmas dates on crowded streets.

Household spirits gather now bringing blessings from afar.

Yokai, gods, old legends live - in the Land of Rising Sun.

“What comes it will be”

Bright silver and gold shine up in the sky,

The rivers still flow as time passes by.

All people around crowd tight on the streets,

With fear in their hearts but chasing their dreams.

Cold rain droplets fall, then sun warms our lives,

We keep writing stories, build castles on sand.

Why wonder so often what future may bring?

Is there point in asking? What comes it will be.

Sometimes one wrong step is more than enough,

We try really hard but world brings us down.

Sometimes random fate dictates our paths,

It seems as if nothing can even be done.

Sometimes we must dance like puppets on strings,

Sometimes we are free, we spread our wings.

Sometimes cold wind blows straight up in the face,

Sometimes we succeed when there’s just no chance.

Sometimes we don’t get the point of all that,

But once in a while - we smile… and we run.
