Intentionally make your romantic partner mad at you for the sake of their own good cliche

I wonder if anyone ever does that irl or know anyone who does something like that? It always feel very unrealistic to me.

I'm talking about those drama plot cliche where one of the character, who's in a mutual love relationship with another, will intentionally make this other character angry "for their own good," such as trying to forcefully make them leave you for some reason. Of course, this usually leads to annoying misunderstandings that no one seem to like either.
