What's the last Japanese food you had?

Earlier this month at Yaki Yaki Miwa, our fave teppanyaki place in town.

Can never get enough of these garlic butter sauteed clams.

Yaki Yaki Miwa is a small chain out of Horie, Osaka and their okonomiyaki is of that region. Finest kind.

Visit to Bozu Japanese Restaurant from last weekend. 

Watercress and beef salad

Lamb chops. Very reasonably priced here.

Bonus roll from the boss at the counter. Arigato, Katsu!

A few glasses of Asahi Super Dry didn't hurt, either. Always good times at Bozu!

Best Chicken Nanban and Gyoza in town!

Salt and pepper chicken wings. Not really into finger foods with bones but this was *really* tasty.

Another weekly visit to CARP DORI.

Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and happy hour kimchee. Happy hour Sapporo pitchers are "only" $12!

Fries are another great happy hour item. The fried chicken skin is *not* but hey, what are weekends for if not to clog your arteries!

Okonomiyaki 

Speaking of okonomi, we made a return visit to our favorite teppanyaki place last weekend: YAKI YAKI MIWA.

Same old garlic butter clam saute.

Got gyutan this time. The yuzu kosho gives the meat a nice kick.

This is a seafood okonomiyaki. You'll just have to believe me...

Finished the evening with garlic fried rice. So simple and so utterly delicious.

Sushi from a couple weeks ago at Bozu Japanese, a regular rotation visit.

Nodoguro, Kinmedai, Tai, Maguro, Namadako.

We had a marvelous time last weekend at the new Izakaya Tenkichi on King Street, right above Tori Ton.

It's best to go with a group of people so you can sample more items without getting filled up on any single dish. These marinated hamachi and saba dishes were great.

The main star of the restaurant is tempura, so we had all varieties: fish, chicken, veggies, and of course shrimp.

We ended up with small sushi rolls. Again, these are great for sharing in a group. We will definitely return to this izakaya soon!
