There are frequent shows that are originally Anime and made into Drama (Live-Action).

There is a thread in Anime to discuss which medium one would prefer.

This is a different topic.

If you have already watched it in one medium, do you actively search to watch it in the other medium? Or do you avoid it?

I have noticed that after watching an anime version, I become very tempted to catch it in live-action.

Gintama, Ansatsu Kyoshitsu, Parasyte

even if the anime wasnt the best

Death Note, Ouran High, Hagenai

or if the live-action is trash

Shingeki no Kyojin, Ghost in the Shell

of course, I do drop live-action if they become way too trash

Lovely Complex

However, I tend to avoid anime if I had watched it first as a live-action, even if it was enjoyable.

such as Nana, Nodame Cantabile, Rurouni Kenshin

I feel like its because I enjoy the plotline and upon completing a live action, I find it a hassle to watch 12, maybe 24 episodes of an anime knowing the outcome.

there are exceptions, which piqued my interest

such as Kuroshitsuji, Initial D

On the other hand, seeing animation taken into real life is slightly more interesting, watching a familiar cast accurately portray a character (or not) is fun, and more likely a shorter more abridged version (and so more tolerable even if the plot remains same)

tldr. does watching a show in a certain medium (anime or drama) affect whether you will watch it in the other?  why?

anime makes me wanna explore drama. drama does not make go back to drama.
