    1)The reason I watched this:

Simply because it's a musical film since I like musicals and rock was my favorite music genre at some point therefore I watched this film.

    2) Storyline/Plot:

I haven't seen the anime so I didn't know the story beforehand.
Generally, it was pretty good and most of all interesting.

    Positive points:

*Rock bands and guitar love; those facts were appealing enough.
*The relationships in the film were captivating since they enrolled too many great feelings.
*Compititions and races to prove oneself ability and passion for music (rock music to be more specific) was a great theme to follow.
*The story's development was smooth: not too fastforward and not too slow.
*Considering the fact that this was a musical film, the music

As a fan of the manga I think this live action is perfect, really! they captured amazingly the essence of the manga, I have seen that people didn't like that when koyuki was singing and his voice was muted but that's one of the things I loved, his voice while singing was something you couldn't just imagined, what they did was great, when I saw the anime I got disappointed when I heard koyuki singing because it wasn't by far the voice I imagined.
I highly recommend this live action if you have readed the manga, it really worth it, the cast is great also the music! I have to point some details such as hiro's accent and that beck (the dog) isn't like in the

I need to preface this comment with I DO NOT LIKE ROCK. That said I found this movie to be AMAZING, AWESOME, MARVELOUS. Everything about it was just right, the acting, the story, the music, the romance & the twists. It is worth your while to see this one. I will definitely re-watch this one.

oh my... oh my... this was so great to watch!!

there's no voice of Koyuki because of the magic that music bring to us and the emotions.
the short visions you see while he sings indicates that real feelings aren't brought by songs of repeated notes and cute vocals from a commercial band, but only a person with pure soul and amazing ability to show their heart and will can bring us pure and deep feelings with a true song.

btw. Hiro looks so great with that long hair and guitar *total nosebleed*
anyways, i enjoyed it very much!!

Never would I've thought that I'll give this movie a full rating, as I'm not a fan of such story (about bands and music in general). But after watching this, I am very impressed with the whole movie and while I am a little disappointed because Koyuki's voice was muted, the one thing which really irked me about this movie was Mizushima's eyebrows. Sorry, but he's on screen for almost 99% of the time and I can't help staring at his eyebrows. -.- But his English dialogues were FANTASTIC!

can someone explain why cant we hear koyuki's voice O_o i'm really pissed about it. i thought they would show it at the last performance ...but no such luck
    • ilovemassu Sep 4, 2012
i was angry about it too. However, to think about it again, it was probably because in the manga Koyuki's voice was told as very special. so the director leave that to our imagination. if, let say they actually aired Sato's voice, it might be not up to what most fans had imagine. someone said in a review, "Koyuki's voice in our head sounds far better than any actual"...

aha now i get it XDDDD
while watching the movie i wondered if people were surprised by koyukis voice because it was unimaginably bad or good XDDDDDDDD
    • tensainobaka Dec 30, 2012
Yeah, I was waiting till the end to hear it too. I wish they did add vocals to Koyuki's singing. I can understand why they didn't but, even though it didn't take too much away from the film itself,I think it would have been that much better if they did.

I agree completely! It was adapted from the manga/anime SO well! And the casting was PERFECT! The Koyuki singing thing sucks big time though. It really put a damper on the movie. Even if the actor playing him couldn't sing, just dub in some rock stars voice! Sheesh!

But everything else about it was perfection. I love this series!

Loved the casting, I think they were perfect for the roles. One of the biggest reasons I dropped it (not really a spoiler, but a warning): You never hear Koyuki's amazing voice! They just muted it! :<
