Move over Hana Yori Dango or Hana Kimi. This is definitely the best Jdrama I have seen till date. This is what I call a must-see. Even people who generally don't like Japanese dramas should watch this because they don't know what a marvelous show they are missing out on. I am so thrilled that I watched it because these kinds of shows nowadays are rare.

While the story of the show is nothing out of the ordinary, it turned out to be a lot different from what I expected. I thought it would turn out to be predictable and cliche from start to end, but it left me pleasantly surprised at a lot of places. There were certain twists that I had thought would happen

What a sweet drama! While the premise of Nobuta wo Produce is not original, it is freshly told and I enjoyed every episode.

What I really found endearing is the frankness of the lead male Shuji and his inner monologue/narration. I like that he was outwardly popular but inwardly unsure, bored, scared and lonely. The theme of this show is a simple one. Finding true friendship...whether you are a popular kid, a quirky loner or a withdrawn, scared and painfully shy newcomer.

Each episode is written to show the development of this core friendship. As the synopsis and title reveal, these three come together to 'produce' Nobuta and make her popular but...wow is that so not what really matters here. I loved the way the story

  • Both are essentially make-over dramas. While YNSH focuses heavily on a romantic aspect more than Nobuta does. They have a lot of similar qualities. Nobuta is more comical than YNSH as well but still both convey good messages. Kamenashi Kazuya also stars in both of these dramas.

  • Both are dramas about bullying in high school. Nobuta wo Produce concentrates on comedy while LIFE goes much more deeper.

Am I the only one who was satisfied with the ending? I found it hilarious when Akira suddenly showed up in Shuji's new class x)/which I'm okay with, because he was actually the most lonely one) And that Nobuta was left alone, it showed that she had grown so much, and now was able to stand on her own feet in school. People started to like her for being her.

I thought this would be better, honestly. It was only cute. And that ending... Are they making a bet of who does the worse endings? haha
Anyway, it's nice to watch if you want to entertain yourself ^^ I'm not into these kinds of dramas any+ so it was hard... Kusano was epic, though xD

Heard lots of good things about this drama, so decided to watch. I loved that this was a friendship drama instead of it being romance-driven. Did not like Kusano until the last episode. Was he drunk/high of something?? Throughout the drama though, i was constantly thinking "Why do they need to prove themselves to their classmates anyways?!!
But after every episode the drama gave me warm/nice feelings.
Loved Nobuko the first time she appeared, lol when she tried smiling at Shuji. The soundtrack (Instrumentals) were awesome IMO and Vice Principal Catherine was my favorite character after ep.6, when she was laughing manically while going into some students locker lol.
    Yep drama was pretty entertainnig.

Sweet drama showing a really strong bond between unlikely friends. Shuji is a really caring, selfless "popular" guy, Akira is so off the wall but fun, and Nobuta is extremely loyal and tries so hard despite how difficult it is for her. Loved all of them so much! Excellent portrayal of what a strong friendship should be :-)
