gory, funny with a questionable plot

I just had to write a review because the ending left me absolutely baffled. I’m still confused on who Kim Seon Ho is supposed to be. In his introduction, he said something like “I’m older than I look.” I can’t tell whether that means he’s not human or he just has amazing genetics. His character 100% carried the plot. Now, I may be a little biased to his charm, but his acting was perfect. His character is so charming and funny.

*major spoilers of plot*

I still don’t understand why the Childe went thru all that work to find a replacement and fake his records just because he’s dying. Like, if he wanted to do some good that was definitely not the way to go. It’s also never explained exactly who he is?? Like, where did he learn all that fighting from. We did learn he is half Filipino, which means he’s human ig. That whole parkour action sequence was so funny by the way.

Okay so, this wasn’t a horror movie, so idk why they made the dude kinda stupid. I literally don’t know his name but it’s the main dude who was taken away to Korea. This man literally goes to the road when he’s being chased by a car(?) like, sonny, you’re not outrunning a car. If he had any chance at escaping, it would’ve been running off in the forest. But you have to give it to him, he actually did run, while most characters seem to like basically handing themselves over. Also, why does he never take the gun. He had a couple chances but he just ran off without it.

Go Ara. haven’t seen her in a while but I loved her part in this movie. I don’t quite get why she died because it showed she was in cahoots with the Childe’s plan? I Guess she just got more money from the daughter and switched sides.

Overall, I think it was great casting with great characters, but the plot was a little sketchy. Definitely worth a watch for Kim Seon Ho’s psycho character and acting.

gritty, inspiring, absolutely perfect casting

First off, **major spoilers** everywhere so be warned, and this is gonna be long.

Absolutely addicted and love this drama, so why did I not give it a 10? One, because the parents annoy me, which is why I’m writing this review before finishing the last ep. Two, because Li Xun went on a path of self destruction.

Now, let’s talk about Li Xun. This man is an absolute genius through and through. He’s pretty cold and indifferent, but I ADORED this man…until he blinded a guy. I completely support the revenge path and whatnot, but that was just so out of character. I get he was grieving and people make bad decisions, but man PLANNED that shit. He’s so intelligent, so why would he throw his whole life away just for that? Even more, he not only gave up zhu yun but was a complete jerk about it. She did not deserve that AT ALL, and his idea was just so bad. Like you had so much time and that’s what you come up with? Aside from that, I feel like he didn’t deserve zhu yun’s forgiveness. He never really tried to make it up to her, and the apology wasn’t satisfactory enough for me. He deserved way more than that one slap. But oh well, that happened. Although I complained a lot, I still like his character. He went through a lot, and nobody’s perfect. In their uni days when they were together, he was such a golden retriever bf and it was so adorable. Combusted everytime he called her princess. SO CUTE!!! Also, this might be just me, but his walk is so funny. Like, someone sign him up for the runway. He’s perfected the angry boy walk. On a bright side, the actor is incredibly handsome. His eyes speak wonders, and not everyone can rock a buzzcut, but he definitely did.

Next, I wanna go over Gao. Keep in mind, I was one of those avid supporters of him up until the prison fiasco. He was relatable. It’s understandable to feel like someone else’s shadow and want to find their own light. Plus, Li Xun was also being an ass towards him at the beginning. He only cared about results and made Gao do his bidding. I get that he has a vision and all, but people were hurt in the process. Gao was doing everything right, going abroad and all. His mistake was blaming Li Xun for losing that opportunity and going on a revenge path. Fast forward, after prison, Gao is still suffering from his inferiority complex and only after money. I was like okay, understandable, cuz some people really only go after money in life, but he was playing dirty for it. His villain arc was very thorough and relatable. I actually cried for him when he was in the hospital. He was a good guy in the beginning. I hope he survives his procedure.

Well, if we talk about Gao, we have to talk about Fang Ziying or whatever his face was. Not much to say really. He was already a bad person at the beginning ?. Breaking up with someone isn’t a crime, but pretending to be a victim is. He shouldn’t have pinned the blame on the girl. He also should have felt bad about her death. Fast forward, still a bad guy 3 yrs later. I don’t know where he gets the face to show up after being exposed before. I don’t think Li xun’s sister death is his fault because he only moved her hotels, not hire a truck driver to kill her (unless I missed something and that was intentional). Anyways, it was definitely wrong to trick the sister, but it’s not necessarily his fault she died.

Xu Lina. I don’t exactly like her, but I don’t hate her either. At the uni, I definitely did not like her. She lead on Gao, using him to get closer to Li Xun. Also went for him even after knowing he was with Zhu Yun. You don’t go after taken men. She still even went for him after he got out of prison. Like girl, he barely even spoke to you, what do you even like about him?? She was tolerable when she stayed with Gao and gave him oranges. That was really sweet, and it shows that she cares even a little.

Know, onto the characters I liked. Ren di and fang shumiao. AMAZING. Great friends and couldn’t ask for better ones. XIUZHU GE THIS MAN. Actually perfect. He can cook. He can clean. He’s kind, funny, patient, AND successful. Literally glowing green flag. Like, I’ll take him, hello?! Also, shoutout to the office workers because they were such goofballs and great people.

Saved the best for last. ZHU YUN MY LOVELY. She was definitely my favorite character in this entire drama. Intelligent, funny, caring, pure, loyal, AND AN ABSOLUTE BADASS. I don’t think I’m gonna find another FL like her. She is the most loyal character IN EXISTENCE. Like bro, I woulda left Li Xun to rot in his emo attitude. Ms girl really sticks to her words. She’s so strong TT. Also, GORGEOUS. I cannot stop looking at her. She steals the scene everytime, and the actress is so beautiful. I definitely feel like she has a staring contest with Li Xun every episode, but I can practically feel them using telepathy. She’s so pretty ><. This is true unconditional love. Literally won’t find that in the real world ?, or maybe I’m just a pessimist.

Conclusion
Every single one of the cast members did such a wonderful job. I CANT think of a better casting. Their chemistry is definitely enough to cause a reaction. Overall, this show is very addicting and well-written. It takes its time and their love endures <333

thoughts from a WEBTOON reader

I can’t believe it’s over already. I got used to the weekly Monday/Tuesday release. Now what am I going to do with my weekdays :(

Anyways, compared to the WEBTOON, the show definitely focuses more on romance. In the WEBTOON, it was mainly about revenge THEN shifted to romance, but the show had a good balance going on. It was also more empowering to Ji Won as the webtoon leaned more on Ju Hyeok. I really liked the show’s progression of events and the comedy they added.

All actors were great despite this not being their forte, which makes them very versatile.

Overall, solid watch. It was fun to pass the weeks with.

Squid Game x Single’s Inferno

This is definitely one of the most well-produced Thai shows ever. The CGI, the editing, everything. It was so well-done. The camera work was amazing. Some of the shots were oddly close to the face, but overall it was so pretty.

It felt like a light-hearted squid game as a dating show. Personally, I loved it.
Similarities to Squid Game:
- colorful
- parallel plot w game and what’s going behind the scenes
- policeman type role

This show was such a fun watch. The plot was very well-done, and the characters were so loveable. Even the second female leads were so nice when they’re usually made to be a bitch, which was nice for a change.

Sun is so fuckkng hot. Like, I actually cannot comprehend how handsome he is. Nobody can convince me that man is Thai because he looks hella Korean or some shit. He’s so fine it hurts to look at him sometimes.

Val is definitely one of my fav side characters. She was such a badass. Her vibe was giving girl crush.

** major spoiler section **

So, I guess they could have a season 2 of this, but, honestly, I feel satisfied with the ending they gave in this one. If they were to have another season, I’m guessing the Farm would be after their son, so they have to get rid of it once and for all.

wholesome, heartwarming, tear jerking, adorable

I will never stop saying good things about this drama. I started on a whim and fell in love. Just one more episode turned into let’s binge all of this. Waiting every week for it gave it a certain charm that just made it all the more enjoyable.

The best thing about this drama for me was the characters. They made everyone so damn likeable (except Cheungi, Eun Bi, and Yong Pil dad). Like genuinely, I would’ve watched a whole drama based on anyone of the characters. They’re all so wholesome, and the entire town is so cute. It’s such a close knit family, and they may be nosey at times but it’s because they care.

This was my Ji Chang Wook awakening. I have missed out. Then, I went to watch his other dramas, and I LOVE HIM EVEN MORE. He is so golden retriever coded. Lord bless me with a Cho Yong Pil.

The sisters were all so spectacular in each of their own way. I wish they gave more screen time for the other two sisters because their story was so worth it. THEYRE SO CUTE I SWEAR. The rich guy is such a puppy. He never did anything wrong. Hae-dal and Ha-yul are absolutely adorable. Hayul is a national treasure, and I can’t wait to see how the actress grows up.

The love story. IM DYINGGGGG. I thought I would be annoyed, but they did it so well. They’re very mature about it, and I love them so much. The Power Rangers are iconic, and I wish everyone could have friends like that.

THE MOM. Let me tell you, I love this woman. I love this actress too. I’ve seen here everywhere, and she ATEEEEEE.

This drama made me go through all the feels, and I feel so full from it.

lots of waiting for lasting love

I <3 Zhao Lusi.
I now <3 Wang Anyu too.

I think their chemistry was amazing. Their characters always had feelings for each other whether the admit it or not. It was definitely angsty, but I think it was just about the right amount.

The Eagle Princess. I love her. I watched her in Twin Flower, and I didn’t like her character there obviously. This one, she was amazing.

I am also one of those people that want a drama with Zhao Lusi and the Fox as the leads ?. Let the man win her over for once.

*** major major show spoilers ***

Okay, so I think I’m finally getting how Wuxia works. One of the leads MUST die at the end and the other has to wait til they reincarnate. It’s a MUST not a MIGHT. There is no way I waited A THOUSAND YEARS just for them to look at eat other. AND I DIDNT EVEN SEE YUAN QI CLEARLY. They did not. This is the biggest blue balls case in history.

addicting, angsty, romantic journey of love and found family

I literally could not put this drama down. It just kept playing and playing, and I could not stop. It’s so addicting. Like, I have to watch til they’re back together again, which is only for a short time then they get separated, so, of course, I have to keep watching to see them reunited. The love story was AMAZING. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I was living for it.

Admittedly, there are some plot holes in the story, but it’s okay to just glaze over. Also, the characters are supposed to have such strong power, but when it comes to it, they get defeated somehow ??? And how was Suying that strong ??? Like I really wanna know what ms girl was on.

Yanhui definitely going down as one of my favorite female leads. Although she didn’t have that much power in the beginning, she still had a strong character. When she did get more powerful, she was such a girlboss. Sometimes, the power wasn’t powering, but I can forgive those parts for the final battle.

Tianyou is great too, but not as good as Yanhui. He would give up his life so many times, and he was an absolute sweetheart. My take on the stabby stabby controversy: he could’ve at least told her the plan. Like, I get he was clouded by his emotions, but anyone would be mad if they were stabbed. I’m glad he had a recovery arc.

Also, another thing that pissed me off so much was the Master Lingxiao person. Like, after what he did to Yunhui, everyone was defending him. I’m like ??? Were you there with us? Did you not see what happened?? I think she forgave him a little too easily because I would’ve definitely been okay if she went back and murdered him…. Just saying.

** major major spoilers **

Okay, so I KNOW that wasn’t the ending. Like, directors, let’s be so for real here. You could’ve added FIVE MINUTES to explain what happened. Since you didn’t, I’ll make one up for you. So, Tianyou finally finds Yanhui, who’s been reincarnated as a human with her memory intact. Over time, she can cultivate to immortality and they all live together happily ever after forever more. The end. See???? That’s not that hard now is it.

journey of healing in a musical

I think this is the only kdrama of its kind that’s set in musical standard. It was such a refreshing watch because I LOVE musicals.

To think JCW can still get better. The haircut in this was just on another scale of handsomeness, and his singing was so captivating.

The story is a good story. It’s not great, but the music really made it stand out. Personally, I’m not a fan of Hwang In-Yeop’s character. He did grow throughout this story, but I feel like he was useless to the plot. His plot line was kind of weird too because I wanna know what happened to him… If he wasn’t in it, the story would’ve been find.

I know it’s not a romance but there was definitely some chemistry between JCW and the main girl. Sorry, Hwang In Yeop, you had no chance. Zero sparks there.

Main girl had a wonderful voice. Angelic I might say.

Okay, so what the hell is his real name?!?!!!! Like let’s be so for real. JUST TELL US ALREADY. The cut off is killing me. I bet it’s cuz they couldn’t come up with a name cool enough to satisfy our curiosity.

The story was intriguing. The plot was there. The acting was absolutely phenomenal, but I had high doubts about Anna’s role. They made her a useless female lead. Her role was purely for plot and less personality. She was important for her relationships and being Jeha’s motivation.

The romance. What can I say. Everyone who said he had more chemistry with the Yu Jin was correct. I think the writers realized that after the first few eps so they rushed to give Anna more screen time. Like, all of a sudden, he’s watching her unable to cook ramen and he’s in love…. HELLO ?!?!

Him and Yu Jin had shocking chemistry. The held at gunpoint, the car crash, even when she was shot. He looked more worried about her than he ever did with Anna. With Anna, it’s like he’s annoyed. He’s like, AGAIN ?!?! This bitch cannot stay out of trouble for ONE second.

Choi Yu Jin was written BEAUTIFULLY. I could never bring myself to hate her. She really did care for Jeha and Anna. All this time, she felt guilty for not helping Anna's mom, so she's playing the bad guy. I did indeed cry when she died. They also tried to salvage the dad by making him die along with her. It was like a last aftempt for redemption. if only the secretary died too, but alas.

The ending scene of Jeha and Anna was the most chemistry they had in the entire series… I was like, where did this come from? Don’t get me wrong, their romance story was still cute, but it was definitely questionable.

Overall, watched for Ji Chang Wook. Did not disappoint. Mans is glorious. I heard the bath scene stirred up some controversy, and it’s definitely stirred up something in my heart. His actions scenes are to die for, and his romance <3

wuxia game of thrones with a timeless love story

I will never stop saying good things about this. Everything about it was just perfect.

The drama started off more martial arts centered with a side of politics then became more and more about politics. I’m not complaining, of course, because I it was a masterpiece. Everything about it was just so well done: the romance, the politics, the people.

Their love story was to die for. At the beginning, it was already clear he had feelings for her. It was an enviable romance. Each party was self sufficient in their own way, and they were perfect for each other. He chose her over the world because she is his world. I know that doesn’t make sense, but it does I promise.

Zhao Lusi was amazing as always. There’s never been a drama where she fails my expectations, Her character was so well-written. She is truly a girl boss. The only thing that bothered me was when her voice cracks when she’s yelling… it’s only a bit, but it was noticeable. Nonetheless, I love ms girl because she is a power move.

Yang Yang was surprising. This was my first drama with him, and let me just say, he has looks. Not everyone can pull off that top bun but he did it. His character was arguably one of the most complex ones. He’s methodical, cunning, and witty, but he’s also caring and loving. He is one of my all time favs because he chose the girl over his ambitions,

The purple dude was my favorite “side” character hands down. There’s just something so charismatic about him that you just got to love him. I started getting a little wary when they were fighting, but in the end, he proved himself just and charming as always. When our ML started wearing purple, I was thrown so off guard because like it’s Huang Chao’s signature okay.

All the other characters were amazing. They 100% killed off so many just like in game of thrones. Our fl was really going through it.

Obviously, the CGI was amazing. This is one of the best productions I’ve ever seen, next to Love like the galaxy. I really want to know how much it cost….

** major major ending spoilers **

Okay , so I was wary of the time skips at first, but then I realised it made perfect sense for the story. Wars take a long time, and it’s not gonna end in just a couple months.

Also, I KNOW that wasn’t the ending. I’m going to pretend that as they’re spending the rest of their days together, they somehow found a way for them both to live to an old age and die together.

I hate Langhua. Like, I actually hate her. When her father went missing, she was so fast to get mad at FL and throw blame at her. Then, she ducking stabbed her. She fully believed FL would kill master Bai without any convincing evidence. Ms girl is immature and I wish she died…. Idc if she came around because she will always be ready to blame FL if anything happens. She quite literally killed her. Ain’t no way I’m forgiving anyone for that.

If she hadn’t stabbed her, there would still be flowers left. Then, ML wouldn’t have to give up his life to save FL because he could’ve used the flowers. Hate that bitch.

cute, angsty, adorable

This will go down in history as one of my all-time favorites. I regret not watching this sooner.

This may not have been my ji Chang Wook awakening, but I love him all the more for it. He is best boyfriend material.

I have to admit: it does take a second to get used to the old style of filming, but I LOVED IT. I wasn’t sure about it at first, BUT IT IS SO GOOD. THIS IS 100% A CLASSIC.

The romance was just everything. It was so good, and I love the Superman hidden identity of Healer. He’s so charismatic. It was just SO GOOD. I got addicted to the OST, and it brings an onslaught of feelings everytime I hear it.

“ITS A BEAUTIFUL FEELING ~”

I will be rewatching this drama every December because it was just so good. It was kind of(?) a slow burn, but that made the angst feel so much more angsty.

Park Min Young was absolutely adorable in this drama. I’ve only been used to her as a kept-together woman, but she was so cute in this. Her acting is so versatile, and I loved her in this. ONE THING THOUGH. They did her bad with the haircut in the second half. Her hair at the beginning was perfect, but they cut it too short later. It’s okay though, because she still rocks it.

Overall, I will keep this drama in my heart as a classic.

great potential, outrageous results

I made an account just so I can write a review for this show. Personally, I live for the horror theme, and I had great expectations for this show, like many others. I’ve read other reviews on this show, and these are the points I agree with:
- her laugh sounds forced / feels awkward (love her acting though)
- some of the people wouldn’t have gone so far as they did without her probing

It feels like she’s pushing people into committing these heinous acts that they wouldn’t have otherwise. Others may feel differently, but I definitely think none of the punishments were worthy of the crimes. It’s always the innocent ones that somehow get punished.

** spoilers **

Starting off right in the first episode, it was a teacher rapist. The man had a great loving family of mother and daughter. Someone dies here. Who is it? Not the rapist. The daughter. Why the heck does the daughter die. She’s innocent, and all the father gets is jail. I get that seeing someone close to you die is a horrible punishment, but she did nothing to deserve that.

Second episode, also rape theme. Bunch of kids group up on Nanno and kill her. It was because of her provocations. Her friends were actually supportive of her, but Nanno intentionally made them feel bad. What kind of friend makes goo goo eyes to their friend’s crushes?!?! She was in part to blame, but what the “friends” did after was unforgivable. She doesn’t kill anyone though. She just haunts them. Like hello?!?! They committed murder and that’s what they get???

Third ep, she purposely led a girl into plagiarism. If not for Nanno, the girl would not have become twisted to that extent. Although she did harbor envy and greed, I don’t think it would have gone so far without Nanno. The outcome? She frames another girl for hammering her hand. Why?? The girl didn’t do anything. I don’t remember if she was rude before, but she profusely refused to injure her friend. She didn’t deserve to be framed for something she didn’t do. Yet another innocent victim. And the one that lied about it all and framed someone else? She got her fame and stardom. I get that it leaves her feeling bad, but why did her friend have to be punished to??

Fourth ep was about a guy that pretends to be rich. He has hardworking parents that do their best to pay off debts for their child to go to school. What does the kid do? He steals their money to keep up the ruse of being rich. Then what? Nanno makes the parents play the role of servants as the spoiled brat and his spoiled friends played Russian roulette. (Sorry if the story doesn’t make sense in my explanation, I’m not trying to go into much detail). Anyways, the end: his parents got beat up and bled so much I thought they were dead. They were just brutally beaten up while the son did nothing. It was never even revealed that the kid was lying while his parents, who did everything they could to give their son a good life, lost so much money and got physically and mentally abused.

5th ep: she seduced a guy to cheat on his bf. Once again, I don’t think he would’ve cheated without her provocations. Of course, cheaters are the ones at fault, but she is too for purposely going for someone she knows is taken.

**spoiler ends**

Anyways, I will definitely keep watching, but so far, I do not agree with how the story is being brought about. Like, make the punishments worthy. If they’re gonna be severe, they better be severe on the person doing it, not innocent people on the sideline. I do love the actress though. Her smirks ( ^ω^ ). Her laugh ಠ_ಠ.

fluffy, mature hotel romance

*there will be spoilers*

SOOOOOOO CUTE. The characters are so well written, and we got to know the side characters really well too.

Main leads are so handsome/beautiful. Literal fantasy pairing. THEY HAVE SUCH GOOD CHEMISTRY. They even had dating rumors from their history TT. Well, the story itself is not very realistic, but their relationship was so healthy. There were up’s and down’s but they had great communication. No unnecessary misunderstands. Probably because they’re adults, but their romance was very mature and fitting of their age. And the ending was just PERFECT. Sa rang becomes the girl boss she is, and Gu Won is making a dream franchise. Obviously, running a business isn’t ass butterflies and rainbows because you need funds, but it’s nice to see an ideal one in the drama.

Side stories:
Personally, I’m not a fan of the one friend who has a kid and is married. I’m sorry, I’m so bad with names. She’s such a strong person, so why does she have such a trashy husband :(. I know divorce is hard and everything, but she definitely deserves better. Hopefully, he improves!

I actually really like Pyeong-hwa. I remember her from Love to Hate You, and her gum smile is so cute. Her romance with Ro-un is also adorable. I keep thinking of Rowoon everything I see him because his name and face are kinda similar. I don’t really get why being divorced has anything to do with her job (?) but alright.

Gu Hwara. At the beginning, I actually quite liked her. She just had an inferiority complex. It was only after all her tricks with Won that I realised how much of an inferiority complex she had ?. And her child is literally an angel, loved him. I literally cried when she didn’t send him to US. ? character development ?

Overall, it’s a really nice and relaxing watch. Off the charts chemistry and amazing comedic moments. Definitely worth a watch!
