I completed reading all 1728 of the Chinese novel after watching the animation Season 1 5 times. But this drama is still the BEST!!!

I was over the moon after knowing that Yang Yang was going to star as Ye Xiu. I was sceptical that the drama animation will be any better than then Anime after seeing the trailer. But I was wrong... in fact I was very very impressed with the outstanding quality of the CG animation of the eSports. I waited for more than a year for this drama and I must say it was a good wait for such a good drama.

Bonus for this drama is that the Actors and Actresses are all very good looking. And this is indeed a very good production.

Although there’s no romance for The King’s Avatar because the author decided not to incorporate it in the nove, I still think this is the best drama for 2019. Highly recommended! 10/10!!!!

This is one Chinese drama I disliked a lot. I’ve just finished watching Eternal Love / Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and decided to give this drama, “The Eternal Love” a try since the rating was rather high. But I was utterly disappointed by the third rate acting of the actors / actresses and that I felt the actors needed voice actors to effectively bring out the emotion. I find the female lead’s tomboyish accent a bit annoying and was rather irritated by the male lead, Mo Lian Cheng’s hairstyle. How to fall in love with this hero?

Having watched lots of Kdramas and CDramas, in my opinion, I will give this series a miss. It puzzles me why the rating is so high though, but this is just my opinion.

Don’t waste your time watching this drama

I watched this drama due to the high ratings and good reviews. But was greatly disappointed by it. Fan Xian, the male lead died in the end.

But the dramas had plot holes which I wonder why reviewers didn’t point out yet rated it 10.

For example, the main lead Fan Xian... his life is so charmed. Every time he gets into trouble, someone powerful will come to rescue him in the nick of time. The Majesty will send his eunuch to send a decree to bail him out, the black knights will appear out of nowhere at the right moment to save the situation. His father will send his troops to protect him when he got cornered. It’s just so many coincidences in the drama making me feel baffled.

The story is biased towards the main lead as Fan Xian is the chosen to lead the next generation. Fan Xian is the chosen successor of Neiku (treasury) and Investigating Office. His backing is the emperor, the top powers like the prime minister, minister of revenue and head of the investigation office. Seems like he’s more powerful than the good-for-nothing crown prince and 2nd prince.

With lots of unexpected twists and turns in the plots in the later episodes, just make me feel that the drama is toying with the audience expectations. The story is not endearing at all.

Xiao Zhan (famed in The Untamed), his appearance is not as stunning as in The Untamed since he’s not the male lead. Looking at the unnatural curve on the lower curve of his eyes just made me wonder if he had plastic surgery.

Finally, the drama ended with Xiao Zhan stabbing Fan Xian and FX died. Duh.... and the story is not ending there.

I watched this drama after reading all the positive reviews. After watching so many episodes, I started reading the web novel instead.

What I liked about this drama: the main leads are so very gorgeous and I love the bromance and brotherhood. The charm and charisma of Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu are what I look forward to every minute. If only the drama didn’t censor scenes from the web novel... ????

What I didn’t like about this drama: it’s sad and disheartening seeing black robe losing his powers and awesomeness as the episodes progresses. If only he’d not reveal his identity and continue to appear as the ever so awesome and much feared godlike black robe envoy or ghost slayer.

I've watched both Ashes of Love and Eternal Love aka Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. But I must say this is the BEST Chinese Fantasy Drama I've watched. I like Ashes of Love a lot too but Eternal Love's characters and casts are all so endearing. I was so addicted to this drama that I had to rewatch it many times. The only episodes I had trouble watching was from ep 20 to ep 27. The love story between the leads were so tragic I can't bring myself to rewatch. After which the drama picks up momentum pleasantly and brilliantly until Qian Qian regained her memory of her tragic past with Ye Hua. I swear I'll rewrite the script that instead of Ye Hua waiting punishingly outside the fox den for Qian Qian to forgive him... I'd rather he magic himself into the cave, seal the cave and hug her and calm her jealous nerves. :P
