A good drama but is not my type of drama

Honestly, this drama wasn't my cup of tea, but I did find some parts enjoyable.

**Cons:**
- Every episode seemed to emphasize the main character's gender excessively.
- The reverse-harem aspect, while expected, felt a bit overdone with everyone constantly intrigued by the FL.
- I sometimes felt disconnected, possibly due to this being a sequel and references to past events that I didn't fully grasp.

**Pros:**
- The actors, all four of them, were excellent. Their performances kept me engaged despite my reservations.
- They each used their own voice, adding authenticity to their characters.
- The unique setting in primordial times with lots of sunlight and a sunny atmosphere in the earlier episodes was a nice touch.
- One of the ML was particularly gentle and kind-hearted, which I appreciated.

A gem of lakorn

This drama is a true gem! I'm easily sold on comedies with a solid storyline and great actors, and this one had it all. I stumbled upon it years ago on YouTube, and it's remained one of my favorite Thai lakorns ever since.

What sets this drama apart is its refreshing take on comedy, with an unconventional and hilarious heroine who's both an antagonist and a protagonist. Her schemes and antics had me laughing out loud in every scene, adding a unique twist to the usual slap-kiss dramas.

**Cons:**

1. **Typical Endings:** While the drama breaks clichés, it still follows some typical lakorn endings, which was a sort of downside for me.

2. **Quality**: The videos I found to watch this drama was really bad. But it was given since it's a lakorn that aired in 2009.

**Pros:**

1. **Refreshing Comedy:** The drama offers a unique take on comedy with an unconventional and hilarious heroine who adds a twist to typical slap-kiss dramas.

2. **Top-notch Acting:** Led by Ken and Anne, the acting in the drama is highly enjoyable and adds depth to the characters.

3. **Gentle Male Lead:** Ken's portrayal of a gentle and understanding character, especially given his villainous role with the same FL in another drama, adds charm and depth to the storyline.

4. **Chemistry and Relationship Development:** The chemistry between the lead actors is wonderful, and their transition from sort-of-enemies to friends is a joy to watch. Their banter, understanding, and solid boundary line create an engaging dynamic.

5. **Supporting Cast:** The supporting cast adds depth to the story, with not every character opposing the FL being a flat villain. Their performances clash hilariously with the FL's antics, adding layers to the narrative.

6. **2nd Female Lead:** The dynamic between the FL and the 2nd FL is particularly enjoyable, adding another layer to the character relationships.

7. **Food Scenes:** The inclusion of food scenes, given the ML's role as a chef, adds visual appeal and thematic depth to the show.

8. **Addictive OST:** The drama features an OST that is both enjoyable and memorable, enhancing the viewing experience.

9. **Rewatchability:** Despite some typical lakorn endings, the drama's ability to break clichés while embracing others makes it highly rewatchable and engaging.

10. **Ahead of Its Time:** Despite airing in 2009, the drama feels ahead of its time, offering a fresh perspective on the genre.

Enjoyable

Despite my beef with this drama, I enjoyed this drama a lot.

Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons:

**Cons:**
- Some actresses' perfect makeup seemed unrealistic, especially on the female lead, detracting from the drama's authenticity.
- Female characters occasionally felt underutilized, lacking agency or impactful roles.
- The female lead's inaction in certain situations felt frustrating and undermined her character's potential.
- Prolonged focus on the female lead's love for the 2nd ML felt drawn out.
- Awkward kissing scenes detracted from the romantic elements.
- The male lead's love for the female lead could have been developed more convincingly.
- Some side actors delivered hilariously bad performances, particularly the Marquis.
- The presence of a reverse harem dynamic with multiple male characters vying for the female lead's affections felt clichéd.

**Pros:**
- Positive portrayal of cousin relationships and strong female friendships (sismance).
- The male lead's character was well-executed and compelling.
- The 2nd male lead was realistically portrayed, adding depth to the narrative.
- Abundance of comedy scenes added levity and entertainment value.
- Enjoyable banter between the male and female leads added charm to their dynamic.
- Strong performances by all actors and actresses, particularly the leads.
- The female lead's comedic daydreams added humor to the storyline.
- Depiction of evolving feelings and relationships over time was well done.
- The female lead was portrayed as practical, comedic, street-smart, and relatable, avoiding typical Mary Sue tropes.

This is one of my FAVOURITE Korean drama of all time.

Do not watch this drama if realistic drama with imperfect romance and characters with selfishness or prejudices is not one of your things.

Many people hated this drama for its realistic flawed characters. And I also would not have loved it if not for the choices Cha Ki Young made - aka the main heroine. Usually, in these types of dramas, the FL pisses me off to no end. But this wasn't the case with this drama. She was always steadfast, strong, and never forgives those that are not worth it.
Park Si-Yeon nailed the role.

What I love about this drama
- had grey characters (both the good and bad character)
- showed that love does not conquer all
- showed the sexism, discrimination, and prejudices in modern Korean society against women, lower-class, and unwedded mother at that.
- did not sugarcoat all the issues
- Park Si Yeon's beauty: She is a goddess in every single scene
- Bae Soo Bin's realistic grey character
- realistic ML, SFL, SML, and others also brought so much realism than the typical Korean drama I usually watch.
