I did enjoy some parts of the love story, even though the couple lacked chemistry and didn't fit each other. Still, the romance was cute.
BUT, for a drama that is apparently about food and love, the food was absent. There were few scenes of cooking and eating and the dishes were not well presented. So, food wise, the drama was disappointing. Performance wise, at least, it was decent and the characters were likeable.
So, four and a half out of ten.

What was nice and entertaining about this show was the family. They created a nice family environment, with a nice web of human relationships. The character development was pretty good and well made as well, with the switch from career goals to family goals for the main character. The performances were really good too.
However, the story was predictable and so the twists were easy to guess. It was also a plot that has been made into a drama countless of times, just with a few other genres in the mix. The pace got slower towards the ending and so there were some boring scenes.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Not Good Enough
Korean Drama " Crash Course in Romance " is a family drama with rom com vibes and some mystery to boot. The drama has an intense family story, with the dynamics between the family members being the center of the story. The relationship between mother and daughter was probably the best one of the drama actually.
The mystery case, in addition, offered some suspense to the plot and a few thrilling moments, when it got darker and more action forward. The game of guessing who was the one behind the murders was what kept things fresh for a while as well.
However, the romance was a let down. The leads didn't sell their chemistry and their romantic, sweet moments were too few to support a solid love story. In addition, they used many cliches, thus the story was predictable.
Finally, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, four out of ten.

Japanese Drama " Alice in Bordeland Season Two " keeps the same atmosphere of the first season, but it's not as intense. The main problem with the sequel is the tempo. When they present the games and the emotional impact of the whole situation on the characters, the series is pretty interesting and enjoyable. However, most of the games are rushed by in fast paced edits, while the whole story feels incohesive, jumping from one storyline to another.
The ending, on the other hand, was masterfully handled and quite dark but hopeful at the same time.
The performances, finally, were all great, just like the first season.
So, overall, six out of ten.

Korean Drama "The Silent Sea" is a decent attempt to create a post-apocalyptic drama with loads of suspense and thriller factors. And for sure, the drama keeps things edgy and suspenseful till the very last minute. The viewer is thrown straight away into the action, with the earth struggling to find water to support the needs of the population, and a scientist is forced to leave the planet. And there is a nudging feeling that something is off right up when the team lands on the moon and goes into the base. That feeling is maintained all throughout the story. In addition, the mystery that is formed and solved is well constructed, well presented, and perfectly paced. It gives small cheese bites throughout the episodes, and it concludes everything nicely in the final one.
However, the drama leaves a lot of things out. The condition of the earth and the dystopian current situation is not well explained and just given as a fact rather than something that needs more exploration. The characters are also the losers of the mystery-thriller focused story. There are some flashbacks that indicate some short of past and personalities, but other than those, the characters are left as blank ones that were acting on based on their initial introductions. The CGI, moreover, were bad and almost ruined the atmosphere of the drama at times.
On the other hand, the performances were top notch, as expected by top tier actors and actresses.
So, overall, 7.5 out of 10.

Korean Drama 'My Name' is a mini-series with a noir story and an action-packed mood. The story starts pretty strongly, with a character-driven plot, and it centers around the main lead and her connections with those around her while being triggered by the revenge she vows to execute if she finds her father's killer. However, the story gets predictable quite quickly. The timeline, also, was not handled that great, something that applies to the dream scenes as well.
The drama actually needed more time to be properly developed, as the short length meant a rushed progress of the story as well. Still, the atmosphere was there and the action scenes were masterfully executed. The romance could have been omitted though, as the strongest relationship of the drama was that between the main lead and her father's friend, which was also the dramatic factor of the plot.
Finally, the performances were excellent by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, 6.5 out of 10.

" My Fuxxxxx Romance " is one of the more mature themed Global Playlist dramas and it explores a wide variety of human relationships. However, the short length of it didn't allow for those themes to be well explored and in depth. The story kicks in with throwing the viewer straight into the action, making you feel like the guy who pressed the FWB button on his profile without knowing what it stood for. The drama quickly moves on, after introducing the main cast, though the fatal attraction between the male lead and the female was kind of off. The rest of it went by in a frantic speed, till we reached the final collition and the concution. So, yes, the story is too quick and brushes off many things that could have aided to the development of the story.
Still, the filmography was spot on, dark, seductive and mysterious. It had this thriller feeling to it, keeping things suspenseful. The performances were pretty good too. Finally, the OST were spot on.
So, overall, 6 out of 10.

" Itoshi no Nina " was an odd drama. It throws the audience straight into the action, with the male lead discovering that his friend has kidnapped Nina, a pretty girl they met while commuting. Things progress quickly, sometimes too quickly, with him becoming her bodyguard, falling in love with her, having a fall out with his best friend, dealing with bullies and discovering what really has happened to Nina. That fast pace was just a bit off for the subjects that the drama was dealing with. The progress of the relationships was lost in that chaotic spiral as well.Other than that, the performances were really good, as expected from some of the best young talents of Japan. The ending was pretty realistic as well and feated the whole story too.
So, overall, 6.5 out of 10.

The drama's appeal to the public is probably due to the intense scenes and the frustrating situations that it presented. The story is packed with twists, revenge, drama and just enough events to make you mad and frustrated, and it keeps that momentum up till the very ending. The latter was actually pretty unpredictable and probably fitted the drama well.
However, there were times in the drama that felt that they were repeated. Also, the whole frustration thing was a bit too much after a while. Finally, the drama had a bit of a slow down towards episode 6, but got back on track quickly.
Still, the performances were excellent and pretty intense. The drama did, in addition, a good job with handling the side stories.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

The idea of the drama seen through, well most of the time, social media videos worked nicely. The actors and actresses of the cast did a nice job and their performances were pretty great, and that helped to pull of that concept. The story was okay too, but I guess the edgy concept overshadowed it. Also, the story was not conlcuded nicely, hopefully, though, the second season will pick up after the first one and they will give a nice ending to it.
So, overall, six out of ten for this web drama.

" My Holo Love " was an AI love story done right. The plot had many leyers, with not only the romance, but the past mystery, the family dynamics and the business drama. The CGI were pretty great too, which helped the drama a lot, as bad CGI would have ruined the whole atmosphere the drama was trying to pull off. The male lead was amazing too, as he managed the two characters perfectly, creating romantic leads with both of them, even though they were perfect opposites. I would have liked if they had explored Holo's and the guy's relationship. The second couple was interesting too and they had nice chemistry. The female lead was cute, but she was annoying at some point, though she got better towards the ending. Finally, the ending was quite satisfying.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

The start was more on the comedy side, with a fun spin on the "cartoon" bentos. The idea was entertaining, with the daughter - mother relationship being communicated via the lunch boxes. The addition of the cute side story was nice too.
The second part of the movie was more on the sad side, with the relationship going through the rocks and the twist towards the end. The performances were pretty good in that part too. Also, it was interesting that they concluded the stories in the end as well, even the side ones.
So, overall, eight out of ten.
