I have been a watcher of Chinese Dramas for a while now, I started during the school holidays just to relieve myself from the horrors of the outside world, when I was feeling most down basically. The first one I watched was "Put Your Head on my Shoulder" (致我们暖暖的小时光). I honestly have to give credit to that drama for actually making me continue with this drama watching spree.

I watched this drama "Lucky's First Love" (世界欠你一个初恋) because I really liked the cover image and the name of it. I know that we should know never judge a book by its cover - or in this case a drama, but I felt that because of that I was going to love it and I was right! My favourite genre and storyline of dramas are those warm, fluffy, exciting ones (of course romance!) and after watching them I can crawl into my hole and start questioning my life existence basically (haha why am I single). I also read the blurb of the drama but it didn't make sense to me so I thought, why don't I give it a try. I watched it on Duboku because Youtube didn't have it, unfortunately for non-chinese speakers, Duboku doesn't include captions.

Story:

I really love the storyline, most of it it wasn't too long or draggy, and things developed the way they should've - in a steady pace. One part of the story that I really wished wasn't the way it was is the ending. The ending wasn't too bad, but I wished they would slow it down a bit. One moment they're kissing and exchanging their vows and the next its months later where they are planning to have kids. I really wished the director had decided to slow down it a bit, like I would be really interested in watching Xing Yun move over to Xia Ke's house and the families of both meeting each other. I understand that sometimes the number of episodes in a drama can't be controlled and that is really unfortunate.
Another part of the story that I wish could've been different was during the tragic times, when every just when down - the investment funds, and ex-girlfriend coming back wanting to take the place of current girlfriend etc. Those bits were necessary to the development of the drama, but they went on a bit too long, should've left more space for the happy stuff! I also think that the main characters should've gotten more screen time, not that the other 2 couples shouldn't be noticed of course.

Acting/Cast:

The 2 main leads were really amazing, and I got to discover two new actors that I can watch out for in the future! I have never watched them and they were great. Bai Lu and Xing Zhaolin acted so well that as an audience I feel like I was apart of their world and the emotion and passion that went into portraying the two characters made me cry and feel jealous many times. The kiss scenes between them were hot and fiery and it shows the passion that the characters have for each other (ahhh).
The supporting actors for other characters also did so well. They blended into the storyline very well and there weren't any obvious problems that made them different to what we expect.
I also really want to mention that I am fangirling over Xing Zhaolin so much, he's one beautiful being. So is Bai Lu. :)

Music:

In the drama there weren't actually a lot of obvious music, it was mainly background tracks to work with the scene. I've only heard the starting theme song once because Duboku cuts off the intros and moves straight to the drama, but the theme song is really lively and I like it. The theme song is also sang by Xing Zhaolin. <3

Rewatch Value:

I gave this a 9/10 because I haven't actually rewatched any dramas and I don't think I have a habit of rewatching dramas, maybe one day I will, but when I do this is definitely a should!

Overall I give this drama a 10 because I won't let the score be affected with the music or the rewatch value. :)

If you like warm, fluffy, sweet and dramas that make you question why you're still single, here's the one! Hope you enjoy my review and I hope you watch the drama for yourself.

<3

When I started watching this show I was quite hooked into it because it was mysterious, 2 worlds merging, random guy appearing from the forest y'know? But then as I continued felt like the overall drama was made too long with unnecessary episodes and lots of things didn't make sense in it.

Story: "My Mowgli Boy" is about a celebrity named Ling Xi who one day accidentally brings home a wild man who she later named Mo Geli. Mo Geli becomes an important part of her life and supports her through the high and lows.
I think that the plot of the drama is a really good idea because it's so mysterious. It might just be me but as I got around the middle of the drama, I started getting tired of the main couple, maybe because there wasn't enough happening around them because the scenes of them are usually just talking. Due to that I started getting more and more interested in the support couples Tang Cheng and Lu Ziyue, and Chu Shi and Ling Yu. Tang Cheng and Lu Ziyue were my favourite couple because their scenes were actually interesting, they are 2 different people and with very different interests and personalities but still managed so get together, and Chu Shi and Ling Yu seemed like forbidden love because they have to be pulled apart by Ling Yu's family problems. Overall Ling Yu's life seems to be really complicated and sad.
I really didn't like Mo Geli as a character, because he always seems to not trust Ling Xi enough even though she has said that she would really like to share the happy and sad with him. Mo Geli is always disappearing and is always leaving Ling Xi disappointed.
The ending was honestly what disappointed me the most because the last episodes (50) honestly wasn't explaining what was happening clearly. Once again, Mo Geli disappears without a word while Ling Xi is stuck worrying. I was getting really annoyed at Mo Geli by this point, Ling Xi has already said that she wants to solve his problems with him instead of him not telling her and solving it all by himself. At the end I had no idea what was happening, Ling Xi is just by the river when suddenly Mo Geli appears in front of her with the ring. Even now I have no idea if that was Ling Xi's imagination or if he was really there.

Acting/Cast:
The cast was chosen really well because all the actors seemed to have a appearance similar to their character personalities. Yang Zi really hit me emotionally when she cried, she always performs her character so well. I felt that Ma Tianyu was a little bit stiff at first but then he warmed up in the end.

Music:
The music was alright.

Rewatch value:
I personally think that the drama is too long with to much unnecessary so I don't think I will rewatch it. Plus the drama didn't make any sense in the end and I still don't know if Mo Geli came back or not because it could just be Ling Xi's imagination.

Overall, I think that the plots with the other characters were quite interesting, while the lead couple was confusing. I hope Ling Xi and Mo Geli did get together at the end, but judging by how Mo Geli is always disappearing with unexplained reasons, probably not.

"Dim Light in the Shadow" really spreads an important message about actions and consequences. The things that we as humans do in our lives, good or bad, might come back to us one day. The main point of this story is that we should really think about what we are doing, and if it could change for the worse or for the better. Throughout the show, there were many twists and turns and as the audience I really didn't know where it was going to end up.

Story: I think the message the story is trying to tell us is really important, the fact that we should think about our actions and consequences that may come with it. It also shows that bullying can actually make a big change, allowing a person to go to extremes. The scenes were also filmed very well, it made every episode of the show very intense. Although the show is mainly about life and stuff, the show was set out in a mystery type of format, and I felt scared at the start.(Spoiler Alert: Nothing bad actually happens to anyone in the end.)

Cast: The cast did really well, even though they didn't have to act as much, their expressions and small actions when they were talking felt so real. Most if not all of them were also rookie actors meaning that this is their first time being in front of the camera!

Music: Really fit well with every scene. The background music was intense.

Rewatch value: The show has 16 episodes, and each episode is about 10 minutes long. I personally would definitely rewatch this show at some point, considering it won't take days to finish.

Overall I recommend you watch this show if you want to start something not too long and a show somewhat involved with mysteries.

I watched this movie because it was showing on TV and it looked interesting. Throughout the movie I could feel how intense the characters were and even as the audience I was also pretty intense. I still can't believe that this movie was based on a real incident, the cabin crew in the real incident were really heroes. I even read the news article on the incident, just a miracle.

Story: Still can't believe it was based on a real incident, just amazing, a miracle.

Cast: The cast was amazing, each and every one of them represented their character to the best ability. You could feel the emotion and feelings of the characters even over the screen. I watched the movie with a rollercoaster of emotions and even cried in the end.

Music: Intense background music which fit perfectly with the scenes.

Rewatch Value: 10 I really enjoyed this movie and would probably rewatch it again at some point, it is not too long which is perfect to watch when you're bored and don't want to start a whole drama series.

Overall I recommend that you watch this movie and get to know about the actual incident. (Sichuan Airlines 3U-8633 Incident)

Highly recommend - Must watch drama

"Lovely Us" definitely made my 3 top favourite dramas of all time. It didn't slow down or tell somewhat useless stories, and personally I think that it is just right.

Story: Really good story, I loved it. It's not every drama that can make me laugh a lot and cry a lot at the same time. The plot really made me think more about my life, family, and friends in general. This drama also made me feel extremely jealous of those who have good friends who are there for them and friendships that go forever. I hope one day I can meet wonderful people too. I had too many favourite parts in the drama, but two that stood out to me was:
1. When Tan Song and Huang Chengzi dressed up for Halloween, that was very funny.
2. When Grandpa Lin died, because it was a significant part of story, showing us that we gotta move on. I also cried when they rushed to the hospital.

Acting cast: I don't think any other cast could replace the chemistry and between these 5 actors. I loved them and it really allowed me to get to know some new amazing actors.

Music: The theme song used to be my favourite song. I also really liked the other songs that was in the drama.

Rewatch value: Not too long/time consuming, definitely high rewatch value.

An exciting drama that is about youth and growing up.

After seeing small clips of this drama, I was instantly hooked. The first scene, where the female lead is late to her English test and still managing to get a high score was what made this drama unique. What made this drama exciting for me however, was that it was different. In other dramas of similar plots, it is often the male lead who is the "God", the boy who gets the highest grades, plays basketball, has a cold personality etc, in this drama however, it is the female lead who gets the highest grades, and also has the absolute best personality I could imagine, and that made me like her instantly.

Unfortunately, the ending was disappointing. I did not expect that their software company would have a crisis right in the middle of their wedding. The company was a big one, and I'm sure they have employees for a reason, and I don't think that the bosses should be the ones handling the crisis on their big day too. I also hoped to see the wedding clip in full (the small clips at the start of the episodes earlier) but unfortunately didn't get that. I ending was rushed and it had space to improve for a satisfactory ending.

Overall, this drama was a nice change to the cliches in other growing-up dramas, as it had some nice twists to it.

Cast: I loved this cast and I couldn't have asked for a better one. They are fit spectacularly into their roles, and through this drama I became hardcore fans of Xiang Hanzhi and Wang Anyu.

Music: Liked the starting music, it was very cute.

"Find Yourself" is about how He Fanxing and how she finds love despite trying to fit in with traditional values in terms of age when it comes to marriage. I find this storyline quite interesting because storylines don't usually talk about the age difference when it comes dating.

Story; The story was pretty good, it was quite a calming plot, like there weren't too much happening so you could chill and understand what's going on. The FL character annoyed me a bit because of her "dumbness" and how she can't usually interpret situations. Overall this was a pretty good story because it was quite unique.

Acting/Cast: The cast did amazing! Both the FL and the ML really converted the script into something real and magical. The choices for cast were pretty good too because their appearances really fitted well with the characters they were going to play. Song Weilong seemed like that somewhat rebellious young person that doesn't really know much about life yet well Song Qian seemed quite experienced.

Music: The theme songs were very calming, but I felt like the lyrics were a bit sad and it would've been nice if there was a much more catchier happier tune, but it was alright.

Rewatch value: I personally thought that the scenes with the FL and the SML dragged for a bit. There were also some unnecessary scenes with supporting characters that didn't really affect the FL and the ML. I personally find that the drama is a bit too long, so I won't be very likely rewatching it.

Overall, this is an okay drama because of its uniqueness in plots and the cast were also well chosen. I'm happy to say this is a well produced drama.

Best show ever!

This is one of the best shows I have ever watched! The writer and director are both geniuses. At the start of the show or just by reading the plot blurb you might think it is just a cliche-filled romance drama where the two main characters get together and happily ever after and so on, but this show is the opposite of cliche. There are a billion plot twists ever, and the plot overall just makes you hold your breath - afraid of what will happen next. This drama doesn't drag on. There are a lot of things happening at once that can make you feel extremely overwhelmed, but that's the effect it should be having on you!

The story is based in 2025, where technology is a lot more advanced than it is currently. 4 boys are stuck underground in a stunning mansion known as the "Bay House" where they are told by elegant villains that they will be free once their contract has ended. The villain's aunt has for many years been planning for the boys's escape as she knows they will never be free. The main characters are whisked into this adventure after one of the female leads accidentally causes the aunt to have an accident.

Overall this is not your typical romance drama. It is filled with action, mystery, high tech and funny scenes which will leave you excited for more.

I watched this movie at a friend's house and I was told that the starting would be a bit scary and then the movie would go slow down in terms of pace. Everyone else thought it was a great movie, but I'm not going to lie, because it had some stuff related to Chinese culture I could tell how realistic everything was, and therefore I didn't like it that much.

Story: The overall story was okay, I guess. A teenage boy suddenly receives this box from his friend and then the box transports him into this "other world" to protect a Princess so she could be crowned Empress. Nothing really makes sense in this movie, because the Princess has shown her martial arts skills multiple times but then sometimes she just weakens for no apparent reason and is in need of help, then there's the boy Jack who was supposed to be bullied, weak and not at all good at fighting but then after 2 or 3 lessons with a warrior he becomes a better warrior than the guy who's been training for all of his life. The parts I really hated about the movie was that at parts, the Princess and the warrior would speak Mandarin but then they would speak English to Jack. I think that they should've just spoke English through the whole movie because it just felt so, out of place.

Acting/Cast: The cast was alright, but the main character Jack Bronson (the teenage boy) is supposed to be like 16 or something but then during the Empress's coronation he looks like a 25 year old man. The actress who played the Princess did a good job, and so did the rest of the cast but there definitely could've been an improvement.

Music: I didn't actually remember any music, so I gave it a neutral.

Rewatch value: I definitely wouldn't, but others might so I gave this a neutral.

Overall, watch it if you want, you might have different opinions, but I didn't think this was a good movie at all.

Wonderful Cinematography

Great cast with most actors fitting well with their character. Personally I found the casting choice of the SML a bit weird, as he is 50 and well old enough to be the FL's father. The cinematography is wonderful and the gaming graphics are detailed and well shown. In regards to the plot, I found the gaming aspect rather unrelated to the overall story. There were also definitely unnecessary parts of the plot that made the overall drama longer than it should be. I believe that the drama having at the most 24 episodes will be good enough, or perhaps even less.

Overall, I felt that this drama was alright, but not good enough to the extent that I would watch it again.

This is my first "survival" show and it turned out to be really good!
I'm a bit sad that the last 2 episodes weren't released for free on iQiyi, because I had to find a third party website to watch it on, and the quality was bad so I just dropped it.
I really loved the mentors, and this show really allowed me to get to know them a lot better.
The overall group formed "The Nine" was pretty good I would say. Obviously there were girls that had the talent to get in, but then there's only 9 spots, so I hope the girls eliminated will get recognised sooner in the future somewhere else.
The show was intense, funny, sad, and also really exciting at the same time. The girls in the show also inspires that "No matter how far your goal is, you will always reach it." 多远都可以到达

I have watched other dramas based of other books by the same author and I'm not going to stop when another one comes out!

This drama was so so so. sweet and I will definitely miss it. Most dramas have an abrupt ending but this one even had an extra backstory, and it really sums things up. At the end, scenes of the crew being themselves (as in not as the character) and dancing and having fun and laughing was the best ending to the drama. It not only pulled us back to reality but let's us appreciate the hard work and effort the whole cast put into the show.

Story:
So sweet and I cried midway through it when they broke up. The only thing that made me not give this a full 10 stars was because putting problems and stuff doesn't seem to be quite the author's style. The previous dramas from them are full on amazing, no conflicts and things so as an audience you could just sit down and relax. I felt sad that a few episodes had to be used on the breakup and confusion between the 2 main characters. I wished that they had left more episodes of them being together or after the wedding etc.

Cast:
A great cast. They give off "youthly" vibes like they are so sunshiney and fit the theme of the drama: school life so well. I honestly can't imagine anyone else playing the parts other then the current cast.

Music:
Most of the music were sung by Gong Jun (Main actor) and Liu Renyu(Main actress) and the music fit really well with the song. It gave off energy and excitement.

Rewatch Value:
I would definitely rewatch it again. It's short too so it won't take up a lot of time. I may skip the parts of the breakup because I really hated that bit.

Overall:
A very amazing school life themed drama. Most of the characters are cute.

I finished this drama "Addicted" (apparently this was the actual name because that's what it translates to in Chinese) in 2 days, and this already is already too long on a 15 episode drama that is only 20 minutes long each episode. Apparently, this drama was forced to stop broadcast before all of its episodes were aired so the story stopped at episode 15 with a cliffhanger. The reason the drama was banned from China was because of its special laws and stuff but I've heard that the cast have decide to relocate to Taiwan and film Season 2 there as they won't be bound by the laws. The 2 main actors Timmy Xu and Johnny Huang are also unfortunately banned from photographed together in China.

Story:
I liked this drama way more than I thought. Although it was a drama of only 15 episodes, it was honestly way better than those which dragged on for 20 or so episodes. This just gets straight to the point and I enjoyed that. The story/plot is honestly amazing and this is the first drama I've watched that has involved homosexuality. I love how this drama shows us things that we could possibly relate to, families splitting up and fights ever so often. I really can't express my love for this drama in words, it is an absolute masterpiece.

Cast/Plot:
The 2 main actors Timmy Xu and Johnny Huang performed outstandingly. I personally don't know if they are straight or homosexual but they fitted into the role perfectly like they were made for it. In the drama, there were some intimate scenes involving both of them together and it is so well acted as you could feel the emotion and passion the 2 characters have for each other. It's really sad that the 2 actors cannot collaborate on a film made in China again.
The girlfriend of Gu Hai made me laugh because I saw in the comments that she looks like a man with a wig, and I'm not going to lie, she looked more and more like that as the story progressed.

Music:
I'm assuming that the theme song was sung by the 2 main actors cause it seemed like there was a duet going on. The music didn't particularly stand out to me but I guess I like it.

Rewatch value:
I personally would definitely rewatch because it is pretty short and this drama has a different "feel" to it compared to the other ones I've watched.

Overall, I recommend you watch this drama even if you don't really like romance or whatever because it is pretty short and if you didn't enjoy it you'll still probably finish it as the total time you would take to watch this would be about 5 hours. This drama also gets really funny and sweet so I really encourage you to give it a try if you haven't already!

I watched this drama probably months ago but recently I've decided to write reviews for some of the dramas I've completed to make my experience with watching dramas better.

"Love O2O" is a story about 2 gamers meeting each other in this specific game and finally meeting in real life and falling enough. This, is the summary in short. I actually wasn't considering watching this drama, but comments from others I've watched all recommended this one.

Story:
This concept of the story was interesting, a story about gamers, IT geniuses and the starting of a relationship, well, all is well apart from one flaw of this drama. It was way too perfect, so perfect it actually made the drama boring! Everything was just smoothly flowing and everything had a happily-ever after and there weren't actually a lot of things we as an audience could have suspense for or anything that makes us really excited to watch the next episode.

Actors/Cast:
I actually discovered Yang Yang through this, and I have to admit, this character didn't really show his full potential in acting. The character he played which was Xiao Nai was supposed to be a cold and distant character and the most popular guy on campus and being distant and cold you couldn't really put much emotion into your acting, he had the have almost the same expressions most of the time.
I don't think Zheng Shuang wasn't fit to play the role of Bei Weiwei but I wished that she could've been less "cutesy" and that the editors didn't put a really high squeaky voiceover for her. When I watched a variety show with her in it I was so surprised at the difference of her real voice compared to the voiceover in the drama.
I think cast and actors did an alright job but there could definitely be more room for improvement.

Music:
The only music I really enjoyed was the opening theme song, it had this nice feel to it, but that's about it.

Rewatch value:
Personally I wouldn't rewatch it again, so I gave it a 5 as part of neutral.

Overall:
The concept of the drama was good, but the way the whole thing was film and premiered wasn't exactly the best honestly. In my opinion this drama is a little overrated, being the fact that most people recommend this in Youtube comments, but hey, you do you.

I actually spent quite a while deciding if I should watch this drama because based of the blurb I thought it was going to be pretty intense, bicycle thief and lap explosions and such, and I wasn't feeling like watching anything too intense so I debated for a while. In the end I did want to start something new so that's what I did and I don't regret it!

What makes this drama different from the rest I've watched is because of how realistic it is. Although I'm sad that in the end the friend group separated and the 2 main characters went different ways, I must say that it was still satisfying to know that I and probably many other people can relate to the plot. Most things in real life don't happen with a very satisfying ending filled with love and warmth, and this really portrays actual life. I really hope for a season 2 and so far the director has left some hints, so I'm excited for that.

(I also finished this the day before one of the most important exams this year oops!)

Story:
The story had a really smooth flow it, and most things that happened I could relate to it which made me feel that the drama was a lot more than just a happy ending. The friend group was really sweet because they portrayed some of the most important parts of teenage years 青春 (qingchun) and the hidden secrets between each character was really interesting to see as well.

Cast:
I get so obsessed with the cast every time a finish a drama, and honestly, the Hou Minghao (main actor) portrayed Hua Biao so well that i fell in love with him too! The main female lead also did a great job in showing us the importance of friendship, trust, and believing in yourself. I personally don't think that anyone could replace to cast of the 5 person friend group because they fit in so well.

Music:
I felt that the main theme song and ending song was a big boring, and I understood that it was made to fit the theme of the late 20th century but I personally liked some hype. One of the songs sung by Hou Minghao at the end of the last episode before the ending track is my favourite song in this list. It has energy and it makes me not so emotional that the story didn't go the way I wanted.

Overall this was a great drama that really showed the most realistic parts of life and although it may not be the most satisfying, we as an audience learn a lot from and understand some of the most important things in life: family, friends, warmth, love, etc.

:)
