Heartbreaking

I knew what this movie was about going in but I don’t think anything could have prepared me for it. It is an amazing movie, the acting is phenomenal and the cinematography is beautiful, but I felt sick watching it. This movie is very very upsetting and I don’t think any amount of warning will prepare but I will try. This movie includes on screen child abuse and on screen child sexual assault and rape as well as ableism. It is tragic and horrifying. The child actors did so well, I am not certain if they are actually deaf or not but they did an amazing job. Min Su’s “I don’t forgive him” scene was one of the most heartbreaking scenes I have ever watched in cinema. Those poor children, it is truly horrific that this is based on a true story. Gong Yoo did amazing as did the lead female actress. Overall I would very highly recommend this movie but only if you can emotionally handle it.

Disappointingly Average

This drama's problems begin in the marketing itself. I will be candid, I'm not really a fan of the story within a story format. Especially for romances, because that always feels so unfulfilling at the end. But nowhere in the description of the drama on MDL or IQIYI did it announce it was that, so I went in thinking it was a regular historical thriller. Despite tending to dislike that plot, I decided to watch on because I love tension and everything I'd seen had promised me that in spades. However, I think this drama only partially delivered. The past life scenes between Ning and Xie Wei were so tense and just what I was looking for however it wasn't the same with the current timeline. Obviously, they did have chemistry and tension but for me, it just wasn't doing it. Like when you compare the two timelines, past her is not nearly as frightened of him so they have this intensity that just doesn't happen in the current timeline. It is basically a one-sided obsession for the majority of the current timeline, and I don't even understand how she fell for him. Another thing, what was with the mental health rep? I don't understand why they included the mental illness at all, he could have hated the snow and been cruel without bringing in a disorder that is already stigmatized to use as an excuse for his violence.
I do want to say I did enjoy this drama, it was beautifully shot, the soundtrack was epic, and the acting was great. This was my first Bai Lu drama, but I've been in the cdrama sphere for about a year so I'm familiar with her name, and I was really impressed. I will definitely check out another one when I have the opportunity. The male lead did great as well, as did all the supporting actors.
Overall, I would recommend this drama, 8.5/10

Heartbreakingly beautiful

So this movie has been sitting in my watch list for a hot minute so I decided to finally watch it. And I am so glad that I did. This movie is absolutely amazing, it's well written and acted, the direction and cinematography is excellent, it's simply fantastic. This movie will rip your heart out but I promise you it's worth every tear. It does have a happy ending and the storyline is amazing. Highly, highly recommend. I've seen the female lead in a couple things(but I haven't finished either of them) and I had recognised her acting talent before but oh my god is she fantastic in this movie. I have not seen anything else by the male lead however I am familiar with his face. He was amazing as well. Truly, I think they both deserve awards for their acting in this movie because they are perfect. I also really like the second couple, their chemistry is great and I am hoping they got their happy ending too. This movie is a 10/10 for me and I think you should watch it as soon as possible

Amazing

I love this drama so so so much. I found out about this drama through youtube and the fact that it stars a kpop idol, I just knew I had to watch. I do not stan WayV or any of the NCT units but I might start now because oh my god I loved Yan Yue so much. He is responsible, respectful, he cooks for her, he has good communication skills (for the most part), he's kind, he protects her from her sh*tty ex, and he is utterly gorgeous. What more can I wish for in a male lead? I also really loved An Ran. I don't mind the older/younger trope, as long as it's a reasonable gap, and I really like the way they set her up as slightly immature for her age so they balanced each other well. I also love love love that she protects him just as much as he protects her. They didn't set them up to be unequal, they both give an equal amount to the relationship. I just adore them so much, I don't know else how to express that anymore though without spoiling a lot. So onto my babies, Ying Jun and Meng Yao. I am a big sucker for the enemies to lovers trope, it never gets old for me. I really enjoyed that it didn't jump immediately from enemies to lovers though, that they actually set up a friendship first. Then we had the trouble period or as I like to call it, the Ying Jun not recognising his own feelings nor Yao Yaos. It's ok though, he figured it out eventually and they were so precious together.
Speaking of Ying Jun, can I just applaud the writers for giving us a completely platonic male/female friendship between Ying Jun and An Ran? No one sided feelings, he didn't like her in the past, they are just purely platonic besties and I love it!! Their friendship is so cute and wholesome. Speaking of cute and wholesome friendships, An Ran and Yao Yao were so lovely. I won't lie, when Yao Yao was introduced I was expecting her to be the second fl and for their friendship to be kind of surface level but no. They are supportive and loving and it's amazing. Also get you a friend who you can call on the phone while you're literally in the bathroom, I love it. The other employees were also lovely, I loved them all so much. They cared for and supported each other through everything, it was beautiful.
All that being said, I really think you should watch this. It's honestly my new favourite contemporary drama and I hope it will be yours too. The sound track is also really good, I'll be adding a few to my playlist. 11/10 stars<3

Cute and wholesome

I don't have anything really to say about this bl, which is strange. It lies in the category of good but not extraordinary so there is nothing to rave about but it's not bad so I can't rant about it. The couples are cute, Phumjai and Yang are so sweet together. So supportive and adorable. PhoJai and Tag are also cute, I wish we'd seen more of them. The acting isn't the best but I didn't mind, not being good at emotional scenes saves me tears so I won't complain haha. It does have a factor to it that I think is very rewatchable. It seems like one that I could watch again if I were introducing a friend to bl or something. I would recommend this bl to everyone but I don't think it's going to be a new favourite of mine. Solid 8.5/10

A sequel that completely stands on its own

I will be honest, I have not watched the first love class. I never saw anything about it that drew me in so going into this, I was prepared to be a little confused plot wise. Luckily, that wasn't really the case and I was able to enjoy the episodes completely. In order of couples, I was really having trouble picking a favorite. I loved all of them. I geuss I'll put Sungmin and Joohyuk at the bottom because their story is my least favourite. The synopsis of their story is completely wrong, which is why I must have been so let down at the start. I am not really into the drunk hookup trope but I thought it would be kinda fun for them. They had chemistry, that NC scene had me in shock, so I felt like it could have worked for them. But instead, they made Joohyuk an ass and had him threaten Sungmin in order to get a date so they could then drunk hookup. Post hookup though, I really liked them. I wish it'd started different but I really liked where it went. My second favourite was Maru and Minwoo, I'm a big sucker for unrequited love. My main, and only, issue with them is Minwoo slut shaming Maru. I get he was upset and Maru had deserved to be lectured but calling him a slut was WAY too far. I wish he'd gotten a little more lecturing but he did apologise and seemed to know that what he'd said was wrong. That aside though, I adore them. I love jealousy (done correctly) and I was living for Maru when Minwoo and Sa Ra were pretending to date. His reactions were everything, I loved it. And now, my favourite couple, Kim An and Lee Hyun. I loved them so much, they had a good plot line and their chemistry was good. My only qualm is the kisses were not good. Especially when you compare to the other two couples, who were doing very well with their kisses. I don't really have any excuses for lip presses anymore, don't join a drama that has kiss scenes if you can't commit to kissing.
Overall, this drama is good and it's worth the watch. You don't have to watch the first season, I didn't, so if the couples interest you than please give this a watch

A mess but it's entertaining

What to say, what to say. This drama is very difficult for me to review because while I know it’s not the best show objectively and has its fair share of issues, I had a really fun time watching it. So the reviewer in me wants to give this a solid 6 stars, the rest of me wants to give it a nine. So I decided to give it an 8.5. I think the thing about this show that makes it so enjoyable for me, rather than something I was watching purely to review it, was the chemistry between the actors. Sunny and Pak had excellent chemistry, they were able to make most of the horribly cringy dialogue bearable and I don’t think this drama could have worked without them.

This drama follows Namnuea, a wedding planner, as he falls in love with one of his clients. I know, it’s an alarming premise. But it is not what you think, well actually yes it is. The plot twist in this show is so predictable, everyone can see it coming. If you guessed both Lom(the groom) and Yiwa(the bride) are gay and that the marriage is fake to appeal to their parents, congrats. You would be correct. This is not an original concept, Mame really was just writing an excuse to get the LITA couples married and threw the main couple in to fill time. Which really makes me laugh seeing as the LITA couples got maybe 2 minutes of screen time each, in total. I could be wrong, it could be Mame wanted to try her hand at a cheating romance and added the LITA couples in to show Nuea working but I don’t think so. Before you watch this show, I do think it’s important to know that there is SA in this. Nuea sleeps with Lom while he is sober and Lom is very very drunk. It’s in episode 4, around the 53 or 54-minute mark. It is, as is typical for Mame it seems, not portrayed as SA but romantic. I hope I don’t need to tell you that drunk people cannot consent to sex, even if they make the first move and a sober person sleeping with them is assault. The scene is kind of important to the plot in the sense that it starts the episode 5/6 conflict but you don’t need to watch it if it will upset or trigger you. They do sleep together again if you want an NC scene. The dialogue is very cringe, I feel so bad for Pak cause it’s always Nuea who gets the terrible lines. As for the other characters, I really liked Yiwa and Marine. They are so adorable, a very desired wholesome and drama-free break from the emotional roller coaster that is Lom x Nuea. Nuea’s co-workers/ friends are so funny but I also really love that J’Im always had Nuea’s back. She was very protective of him and I loved that. The secondary side couple is cute, from what little we see of them.
But for all this show's flaws and issues, I really did have fun watching. I laughed, I giggled, and kicked my feet, all the stuff. Maybe I’ll edit this when the wedding episode or whatever the 8th episode on IQIYI will be comes out and give my feelings on that but for now, this is it.

*EDIT*
Hi there, I'm here after the wedding episode. Um, it was cute. It's always fascinating seeing wedding traditions from cultures that aren't my own and they're very cute together but like, there was no need to make it behind a pay wall. It's like seven dollars, so not terrible, but the episode should have been free. But it doesn't matter too much now anyway, I already bought it. Over all notes are J'Im rocks, she's the best and we're honestly being robbed of Sun and Ryu. They're cute and I wanted to know more. Also really wasn't vibing with how rushed the wedding was, Nuea only knew he'd be getting married the night before and Loms mom wasn't even invited. Not that you have to invite your parents to your wedding but I felt like there was no reason to exclude her except maybe for Yiwa and Marines comfort? Idk, it felt odd. Like Lom could get them from the UK for a wedding but not his mom from Bangcock to Chang Mai? Especially when the beginning of the episode started with Nuea wanting to be approved by the mom, a good full circle would have been her saying some lovely words of blessing at the wedding. But whatever. This episode doesn't improve my rating, the episode itself will get probably a 5, but I said I'd update so here it is

Mediocrity at its finest

I have many issues with this drama, which I'll go into later, but I think my biggest problem is that this drama COULD'VE been a 10 star for me. They kept dropping interesting storyline after interesting storyline and if this drama had properly explored even one of them, it could've been great. But they didn't. Anyway, here is my review of Tin Tem Jai.
Story:
So this drama follows Tin, a university student who lives with his long time crush Park. I actually really liked Tin as a main character. He was funny, caring, sassy, and just overall fun to watch. His storyline with his mom was also extremely interesting and I wish we'd gotten more from it. Seen his relationship with her before she left him with Park and his mother, actually gotten some exploration into Tins abandonment issues and his feelings on his mothers new family. We got crumbs but I wanted more. My problem was with Park. How do I say this? Park was boring. He had barely any personality, he had no hobbies, he had 3 facial expressions the entire drama, and he had the charisma of a twig. Together, these two characters had no chemistry. Enter the second lead, Ploen. He's got good chemistry with Tin, they share an interest, he's open with how he feels about Tin, and he's handsome. Literally they made the perfect love interest the second lead? I was so upset that Tin didn't pick him, I knew he wouldn't but I was grinning and kicking my feet for them only for Tin to reject him. As for the second couple, I feel robbed. We get build up, a hot sex scene, and then we never saw them alone together again until the special episodes. We see them together in group scenes and they both get a few solo scenes but I wanted more. I wanted what was in the special episodes to be in the main ones. Just them being a cute couple and that chaotic boyfriend calm boyfriend dynamic they had. They had the chance to make them stronger as a couple when Pao ods. It is said that Kana previously did drugs so if they'd given glimpses of him helping Pao through the rehab process (not that he actually went because tv doctors are stupid but hypothetically) would give them a chance to connect more. Another unexplored storyline dropped in for conflict. Speaking of unexplored, I want to know more about Bai. Her transition, how she built herself from a run away to a successful hair salon owner, and the tense relationship she has with her family. Because having family be unaccepting of your identity is a reality for many lgbtq+ people and it clearly had not resolved. Though her brother and her friends show her unconditional support, her parents do not.
Acting:
The acting in this show is fine. Not horrible but not going to win any awards either.
Soundtrack:
Fine, except during the sex scenes. Specifically for the main couple. The main couple has one sex scene in the 10 episodes and 2 in the special episodes. All have terrible music. Due to the actors lack of chemistry, the sex is kind of boring and awkward so the terrible music just makes it worse.
Rewatch value:
Haha, no. I will not watch this again, ever.
Overall:
I did not hate this drama but I was severely disappointed and underwhelmed. Personally wouldn't recommend

A story of love, loss, family, and friendship

This drama is beautiful, truly. From the story to the cinematography, everything about See You in my 19th life is amazing. I became aware of this dramas existence a few days before the first episode dropped and I knew I had to at least take a look. This drama follows Ban Ji Eum, a woman in her early twenties who is able to remember her past lives. Her most recent past life, Yoon Ju Won, died as a 12 year old and Ji eum plans to reconnect with the people of Ju Wons life, mainly Mun Seo Ha whom was her first love and who was with her the day she died. However while inserting herself in the life of the now older Seo Ha, they both end up discovering things that will change their lives forever. Does that premise interest you, even if just a bit? Then I beg you to go watch this drama. I truly think this is the best drama I've watched in 2023, the writing, the cinematography, and the OST were all phenomenal and truly made this drama shine. Another thing that made this drama shine is the acting, it was excellent. The two main roles, played by Shin Hye Sun and Ahn Bo Hyun, are not easy roles to play. And both pull it off excellently.
If you are a bit hesitant because serious dramas don't really do it for you, please don't give up yet. While this drama is serious overall, it has no shortage of swoon worthy romance scenes and comedic moments.
Overall I highly, highly recommend this drama and I hope my review encourages you to watch it :)

I enjoyed it (a review for both seasons)

So I decided to watch this drama, even though it is an older one, because I'm a fan of Zhao Lusi and plan to watch as many of her dramas as possible. This drama was fun, it's an easy watch and the storyline is interesting enough to hold your attention if you aren't really feeling the romance. It is a comedy romance and really lives up to that, almost every scene up till the last episode will make you laugh. Or at least it did in my case. Normally I don't really like love triangles but this one was fine, I didn't mind it's existence because Mo Ran knew his limits. I'm not going to lie, I was having trouble getting into the romance for the first few episodes of the first season. They had good chemistry but having just watched Hidden Love and my favourite cdrama ever being Who Rules The World, I have seen better chemistry between Zhao Lusi and her male leads. However, as this drama progressed and especially in the second season, I got into the romance more and more. By the end, I was very emotionally attached to them. Which made the ending that much harder. I am glad he joined her world at the end but I honestly wish she'd just stayed in the Zodiac Kingdom. I do have some gripes with this show, it is certainly far from perfect in my eyes. For one, I am so tired of the constant fat shaming in this drama. It was excruciating having these men constantly calling the female leads(but mostly FeiFei) fat when she is no where even close to fat. But even if she was, so what? And also the 'not like other girls' themes in this were a little irritating, except they were the opposite of normal not like other girls rhetoric. Male characters kept saying Fei Fei and Dali weren't like other girls, Fei Fei was average looking (except they casted Zhao Lusi so who on earth is going to think she's average looking) and talentless while Dali is undesirable to anyone but Wuchen because she's too man like. I'm used to the not like other girls stuff in cdramas, especially historical/Xinxia ones, but usually it's meant to compliment the female lead. This just felt like the male characters trying to tear them down.
Speaking of side characters, I swear they were queer coding the relationship between Xie and Shang Yu. Especially at the end of the second season but maybe I was just reading too much into it. And I will say, my favourite couple was Dali and Wuchen. Though I loved the main couple and TangTang was cute with Xia Bing while it lasted, I loved the way Wuchen was totally head over heels for Dali. He seemed like the male character who loved his love interest the most. So their ending had me sobbing, severely. I hope they are ok after Fei Fei's clan healed them, that they were able to get married and *major spoiler* their baby was also saved. In terms of the main romance, Yi'er was very dumb. I get it was meant to be like that and played for laughs but sometimes it could be a little frustrating, as the viewer, when he wasn't getting Fei Fei's hints. Also what was with those kisses ? I know Lusi can do some good kiss scenes, both sweet and spicy ones, so I was so confused as to why they were doing the dead fish lip press. Especially for the final kiss scene, it's meant to be intense, romantic, and emotional but all I could think about was why they weren't for real kissing. I was stuck wishing for the kiss scenes to end soon because it was awkward to watch.
For the acting, it wasn't bad but Xiao Zhan and Zhao Lusi have both done better. I haven't seen the male lead before but he was good enough, same for all the side characters.
The soundtrack wasn't bad, the songs were all sweet and cute but not my favourite.
Overall, I recommend this drama. It's nice, it's funny, both seasons are good (but season 2 is better imo), and the romance is cute.

A wholesome drama to make your heart flutter

Cute, this cdrama is utterly adorable and there's no other way to describe it. Normally I don't gravitate towards contemporary cdramas, I'm a historical/Xinxia girl, but I will watch almost anything with Zhao Lusi in it so I decided to give this one a go. And I'm really glad I did, I loved it so much.
Story:
So this drama follows Sang Zhi starting from middle school and going into college, all revolving around her relationship with her older brothers best friend Duan Jiaxu. Personally, my least favourite part was when she was a minor. I wish it'd started with her in college and shown brief flashbacks to them meeting when she was a kid because though the age gap isn't massive and the relationship only begins when she is an adult, it's kind of weird to start a romance show with the fl being a middle schooler and the ml being in college. This is the only thing I don't particularly like about the show, idk I just don't really care for the teenager crushing on the adult trope. I love their romance and I ship them so much but I just wish they'd changed that. So that's why it gets a 9.5 instead of a 10. But besides that, I absolutely adore this show. Sang Zhi is such a fun, sweet protagonist and I love her relationship with her brother. Also as a Love like the Galaxy watcher, seeing the mom again but as a good parent this time was so lovely. As for the romance, it is so sweet and healthy. Coming off a drama where the Ml repeatedly betrayed and hurt the fl, I was in need of a Ml like Jiaxu. He is responsible, he is respectful, he is protective, he is the perfect boyfriend. His only problem is he needs to have some self respect, why he wasn't filing a restraining order against Jiang Ying was baffling. After I paid that debt and told her to leave me alone but she didn't, I would have made sure she couldn't be closer than fifty feet to me or my loved ones for the rest of my life.
I know they'll be making a drama about Sang Yan and unfortunately it seems they won't be casting Victor Ma so I don't know if I'll be watching or not because this version of Sang Yan is the best one so I can't imagine another person playing him. Speaking of actors, they all did phenomenally. As I said before, I will watch almost anything with Zhao Lusi in it so I'm very aware of how incredible of an actress she is. This drama was no different, she did amazingly. Chen Zhen Yuan also did a very good job, this was my first drama of his and I was very impressed. As for the side characters, I wish we'd seen more of Wang Wang, especially about her relationship with the athlete. After the confession, what happened? Are they dating? Did he say no?
Overall I really enjoyed this drama and I think it's really good for any beginners or people who love romance dramas. I'm really happy I watched it and I hope you will watch it too

Ok so hear me out

So I know I'm kind of in the minority here, seeing as this has an overall 7/10 and most reviews I've seen have been negative, but I loved this drama. Do I think it's the best, most spectacular drama out there? No. Do I still love and recommend it? Absolutely. This drama for me was right up my alley so I had a feeling going in that I would love it and I was right. The story is interesting, the charecters are likeable, and the leads have good chemistry,
As for our male lead, oh boy do I have a complicated relationship with him. Cause I both love and hate him, it's very emotionally draining. Cause I like him when he's being himself, kind and protective, but when he's in his god mode, I hate him. In real life, I would never ever take that man back like Wei Zhi did. Restraining order immediately. But since she does take him back, I wish he'd had to work a bit harder for her forgiveness. Not nearly enough apologising for his actions, he did it once and got forgiven. Like Wei Zhi, make him work a little for it.
Wei Zhi, I literally love so much. She's been through the ringer these past two lives. She needs a good hug. I wish we could see them living their human life, just for a little bit. I also want to know what will happen when they die? Will Chen Yan become Yan Yue again? Will Wangyue become immortal? Or will they both die as humans and then reincarnate? I need answers.
Anyway, if you are interested by the premise what so ever please give this a watch. I really enjoyed it and I hope you will too

This drama is truly amazing

I saw clips of this drama on YouTube and it immediately caught my attention. I'm not a huge cdrama watcher and historical dramas don't usually peak my interest but this one did. And I'm so glad I watched it. This drama has everything you could ever want: Interesting plot? Yep. Great acting? Yep. A beautiful romance? Absolutely. Strong female characters? Heck yes. Male leads that are strong, respectful, and handsome? Yes, yes, yes! This drama is perfectly paced, it's not too fast or two slow. Every plot point is properly explored and everything that happens has an effect, nothing is pointless in this drama. The romance had me swooning, it's so perfect. It's healthy, it's cute, there aren't that many obstacles, it's simply wonderful. And I love love love that the character that could be considered a love rival for Bai Fengxi becomes her best friend. She doesn't try to hurt Fengxi because Lanxi likes her, instead they become close friends and support one another.
Over all this drama is a 10/10 and I highly, highly suggest you watch it

Cute

I mean, I don't know how else to describe this drama. The romance is cute, the village dynamic is fun, the actors are good. It's just so cute. It's not anything absolutely ground breaking, in fact it's got quite a few kdrama romance clichés(they knew each other as kids, male best friend is the second lead, etc) but it was cute and I didn't really mind it. I think this is a great drama for beginners or for anyone who loves cute romances. Also if you liked Hometown Cha Cha Cha then you will probably like this as well. Overall I highly recommend you watch it, it's a mood booster and a fun watch

I love this drama so much

I stared watching this because it's premise reminded me of one of my favourite kdramas ever and because I love putting myself in emotional pain using kdramas. And I'm really really glad I did. From the first episode, I really enjoyed the drama and was immediately invested. I love Dong Joo, probably one of my favourite female leads I've watched. I also loved TaeHee, mostly, and the other main characters. My favourite characters were the uncles, Vincent and the priest. They were so funny and co led the Dong Joo x Tae Hee ship club which I am a member of. The romance, btw,is adorable. The bad beginning (screw her ex by the way, if i could enter dramas I would have gone in and nutted him) and then them getting to know each other better and slowly coming to have feelings for each other. I literally screamed at my screen when he first rejected her, it upset me so much. Wanted to shake him and ask him wtf he was doing. Speaking of romance and rejections, justice for Chung Ha. He was so unnecessarily hostile towards her, she literally did nothing wrong yet he treated her like she ruined his life. I'm glad he became nicer in the end but jeez, he was so harsh.
The plot twist in the drama was crazy. I started to see it coming about an episode or two prior but it still was insane. Did not expect that when we started. I have mixed feelings about him. I liked him in the beginning but the more we learned about the incident and all the events, the less I liked him.
I love Dong Joos friends, they had such a good relationship. We only really saw So ra but they were both great. Dong Joos dad was great, I really liked him. I saw spoilers so I knew what was coming but I still sobbed and I'm definitely judging if you didn't at least get a little choked up. The acting in the drama was really good. I haven't seen the ML actor in anything else before but I have seen the FL. I watched the first few episodes of My Roommate is a Gumiho but I stopped. She was really good in this and her fashion was everything, I aspire to dress like her.
I'm not religious myself but I didn't really mind it. I liked the priest uncle and Dong Joos confessions were always fun so I didn't mind. Usually anything with excessive amounts of religious anything make me uncomfortable but this didn't focus too much on it so I think even if you are atheist or believe in a religion other than Buddhism and Catholicism, you will likely still enjoy it.
Over all I really love this drama and the only thing I'm upset about in the long run is the fact that they didn't kiss more than once. I was so happy when they kissed and I love them together so I was waiting and waiting but no :\. Anyway, please watch this if the concept intrigues you even a little, it's really good
