OVERRATED

I was really looking forward to watching this drama especially when I heard Kim Soo Hyun was playing the male lead, however unfortunately I was extremely disappointed.
I suspect it also has to do with my high expectations of this drama but honestly not only was the storyline average but also the soundtrack and character development wasn't intriguing.
I feel like it got so much attention because of the good looks of the main characters but I felt that their chemistry wasn't amazing and their relationship was overly complicated.
I didn't feel moved at all watching this and the ending wasn't satisfying. It has an interesting concept however lacked thematic value.
Overall it was an alright drama and there were some heartwarming moments however definitely did not deserve the praise that it had received.

I'll start off by writing that this wasn't necessarily a bad drama, however you need to go into it having some idea with what it's about.
I remember seeing a clip of it and thinking it was going to be a great drama that explores the experience of a woman handling her own pregnancy independently and moving towards motherhood but unfortunately I was extremely wrong.
This drama mainly narrates the different struggles and problems of two families who are linked together by the unexpected pregnancy between two young adults.
I felt like this drama was overly complicated and didn't explain some aspects well enough. For an example the girl's boyfriend's personality changes way too much!! He was so nasty at the start of the drama and blames her for the pregnancy as well as basically cheating on her. But then he suddenly changes and becomes this gentleman who cares so much for her. It just didn't make any sense.
I felt as if the drama should've focused more on their relationship, or just focused on the family separately, not mix it all together.
This drama had a lot of potential but unfortunately it was hard to follow and didn't really make much sense.

I remember watching the teaser trailer of this drama and thinking it was going to be amazing so I went into it with high hopes.
Unfortunately I have to say that it didn't meet my expectations and it was quite average. I was actually quite shocked to see the amount of praise it got because although it wasn't a horrible drama, it definitely was average at best.
The concept was interesting however the actual plot failed to engage me. It was one of those dramas that I just forced myself to watch just so I could complete it.
Overall it's not a bad drama but if you like crime/thriller dramas there are many out there that are better then this one such as 'Voice', 'Stranger', or even a more recent one like 'Flower of Evil'.

In general, this drama was pretty solid. The acting was relatively good and there was a good character development throughout the drama. I really enjoyed the unravelling of the secrets of each of the characters and the dark side of the seemingly perfect Yoo Beom Jin.
The drama is quite slow paced and I personally don't mind that HOWEVER the ending I found extremely confusing and lacking. There is no explanation in regards to Yoo Beom Jin's death(?) and the explanation for the actual crime considering it was so complicated was just not enough.
The court scenes also seemed a bit strange to me and obviously I don't know how the justice system works in Korea but I was surprised when Yoo Beom Jin started yelling and ranting when he was on the witness stand (I thought they are only required to speak if they are asked a question).
I wouldn't recommend this drama for people who really value the endings because the last episode of this drama was quite inadequate in my opinion. However, saying that it was a pretty enjoyable drama overall with an interesting storyline.

UNDERRATED

This drama is by far one of my favourite dramas ever!!
Admittedly I am a sucker for historical dramas but I thought this had such a good mix of comedy, suspense, romance, and action.
This was one of the first dramas I had ever watched so I thought maybe my opinion of it was exaggerated since I couldn't really compare it to anything. But I recently went back to watch just in case and was pleasantly surprised that it was just as amazing the second time as the first time!
The first few episodes are quite slow and the chemistry between the ML and FL isn't the best but the overall storyline is so impressive I can overlook all of that. There were times when I laughed and times I would cry and honestly it created a roller coaster of emotions!
It is relatively old so the quality of it isn't amazing but the soundtrack and acting is excellent so I would 100% recommend!!!

underrated

Usually I get put off when a drama has a lot of episodes but for this one I stuck through it till the end and I do not regret it at all! This drama consists of basically 50 one-hour episodes, but trust me it is so worth it.
The amount of plot twists in this drama is so insane and it will drive you all over the place.
The issues that link the two opposite families together and the unlikely relationship that builds between some of the characters is intriguing and pulls you in to continue watching the series.
The only thing I can fault is maybe the chemistry between the FL and ML, I just felt it was a little lacking at times.
Overall this drama was amazing and I would definitely recommend it !

RECOMMENDED

This drama is definitely one of the best dramas I have ever watched!
The acting, soundtrack, storyline, and film techniques were very impressive and I even ended up rewatching it.
However I admit that some aspects of it may seem quite unrealistic so I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't into supernatural themes or fantasy genres as well as historical dramas.
The first few episodes were also a bit hard to get through especially because I thought the child actor wasn't great but after that it was absolutely amazing.
It is quite a long drama that goes for 30 episodes but it is definitely worth it and the ending wraps up nicely. It does have its sad and tragic moments but overall it has a really good ending and is so touching!

I started watching this drama with high expectations because the synopsis seemed cute and intriguing. However to my greatest disappointment I was extremely wrong as this was boring to put it nicely.
The first few episodes were relatively interesting and had potential, but quickly fell when the drama started focusing too much on the rivalry between the 1st and 2nd male leads.
The female lead also had a bit of an annoying character and I lacked sympathy for her.
Overall this drama was disappointing and I would not recommend it.

This drama is definitely one of Kimura Takuya's best works. It is so entertaining and has a perfect amount of comedy!
The storyline is easy to follow and there's nothing too intense so it's such a nice lighthearted drama to watch. I love the aesthetic of it and the acting of all the characters are impressive. There are top notch actors such as Abe Hiroshi, Kohinata Fumiyo, and of course Kimura Takuya.
Honestly there's nothing much I can fault and it's extremely satisfying to watch and rewatch!!
Definitely recommend if you're trying to learn Japanese too :)

This drama was disappointing to say the least.
Every episode was average and I have to say the last episode definitely ruined it.
The whole storyline is ridiculous and to top it off it's barely a happy ending. I regret wasting my time watching this and I strongly recommend you NOT to watch it.
The only thing I can applaud it for is the aesthetic of it and the actors. There was little climax and a weak build up towards it and I couldn't feel any heavy emotions during the supposedly 'sad' parts of it. I feel like this drama could have had potential to remain at average or maybe even slightly above if the ending was different.

Unique

This drama explored really interesting themes that I did not expect. At a glance it just looks like an average drama that narrates the life of an ordinary mother. However, the drama illustrates the detrimental impacts of societal expectations and really captures the insight of the psychological concept of motherhood.
The film technique and the acting is impressive and displays the ugly truth about society. The character's natural submissive behaviours to these ideologies triggered me into questioning the presumptions around certain things.
Overall I was extremely intrigued by this drama and the characters developments, and I would highly recommend if you're interested in psychology.

DISAPPOINTING

This is one of Japan's 'asadora' dramas by NHK, and I have to say this one was a bit of a fail.
The main character unfortunately had a really annoying personality and the storyline was very unrealistic. The acting wasn't too bad but nothing special. It was also disappointing because there were some really good actors like kohinata fumiyo and even yamazaki kento.
I definitely would not recommend this drama, but if you like these NHK dramas there is other really impressive ones such as 'ama-chan' or 'massan' so I suggest those instead.
