I think 3 Iron is one hell of a movie, I just loved every minute. I'm not too keen on artsy films, because it feels like the director is trying too hard to convince me of something...meh. But 3 Iron was a treat. I liked it so much I placed it at the top of my list but I think that was more the hype at the moment than anything, my all time Asian favorite has to be The Chaser. A crime thriller done Hitchcock style. ;)

Itadakimasu, I say it to myself when I have lunch. I love it. <3

My question now is, what kind of films intrigue you most?
  • NinaJade82 15 hours ago
In return I can answer your big question! And of course Ill get back to you after I finish the drama ^ ^ How can I resist?? lol
Tarantino did a few good movies and got famous. Despite the movies being not of our liking (because I'm included in this group...of two)Pulp Fiction which is I believe one of the films that sent him flying to stardom straight from earth, is rave by critics and lots of film enthusiasts (I don't care for the plot either way) Then he did Kill Bill which is pretty good for an action film about a phoenix heroine, that was cool. True, he lacks in intellectuality which he makes up for in his latest Django in very unconventional ways as always, but the story has a lot more weigh than any of his other movies ( in my opinion, others might kill me for this I guess...)
KKD tries too hard to be artsy in most of his films. But he got it right in 3 Iron.

OMG why do I keep hugging your wall, and why do I find the fact you dislike Kim Ki Duk and Tarantino's film surprising?? I thought those were the kind of films you would like. But then again, I think a person who continues to surprise me is even better!! <3 twinnie.

BTW I so hate 'ottoke' and wide eye kisses, ugh.
My favorite phrase is 'itadakimasu' such a strong meaning in one word.
Miyazaki of course lol, and smoking guys!!!!!! *.*
Where is that video I made for the pretties? lol.

Why did I marked spoiler all the comments below? o.0

I think I would loved King2Hearts to pieces if it weren't for something they did which made me upset at Koreans more than anything. And isn't the reason why I was upset the same reason why they did that? Hahaha, it is a funny thing but feelings and the sense of pride for what you know and feels home to you is something so strong we cannot shake it off.
Still, I rated it high, your 7 for Winter drama did made me pout a bit, but that's just because we love passionately when we do hahahaha...now worries my friend, I understand you even if at the moment I saw the 7 I swore I didn't.
On another note, you could like Nine, yes I agree you need to be ready for Korean dramas again. Take your time.

I need to find the time for my new drama schedule T_T
I want to watch so many!!! :D

Don't be sorry dear Rita. Remember how much we bash each others favorite dramas, but we are still twinnies because we just are ;)
Another thing that I loved was the excellent use of camera work, this director and his crew were the ones from Padam, Padam, which I believe I told you was not my favorite from that season yet I gave it a 10, because it was such a well done drama. I don't think That Winter The Wind Blows is better in technical terms, because the story is a bit stretchy in some aspects compared to Padam, Padam. But I definitively love the characters here more, and I have to love the way they story focuses on Oh Soo's inner feelings and thoughts, he is such a well crafted character despite the mistakes made. The one thing I didn't buy was how quickly he fell for her, but that is not a problem for me when everything else is magical. :)

I have not finished it yet, as crazy as it sound. I had a very busy time last month with school, work, and life overall so I have yet to finish the last 4 episodes I think.
I have to admit to some of your points (I read your review) there is a overacting, and lots of mushy moments which in other dramas would have been my point to hate, but what made me fall in love with this drama was the wonderful respect the director has for art in life. The first scene of the drama, with the tree in winter, and the music, and the camera pulling you in...wow, that was the best scene I have ever seen in any drama. It spoke of the whole drama in one single frame. That made me love this drama.
I have to finish it to fully understand your dislike (the end) and the dislike for the end of so many other people, but as of now, the drama takes a 9 from me.

    :D

Thank you, you are so sweet!

Yeah, Takeshi Kaneshiro is really too yummi to skip. I like the asian males who look just manly and not just beautifully handsome like most of the idols out in dramaland. As you may have noticed I like those oji-san/ajusshis very much.

So you watched the german movie adaption of the book. I watched that movie years ago in class. It was a very frightening movie in its own way. Maybe I should watch the movie with my German Literature Class.

My new job is very frightening in its own way* repeats herself*.

Oh honey.. Of course there's NO problem at all and hope it goes by smoothly without much trouble. Stay Safe.

Ahh, did you watch Turn Left, Turn Right? No, maybe you should give it a try.
I really loved it and if I remember the name right they use a poem of Wis?awa Szymborska in the movie.
It maybe a bit slow paced, but Takeshi Kaneshiro....=)

Hello, so I just watched Meteor Garden ep 7 and Dao Ming Si's German you mentioned somewhere. Gruesome.

Btw. Die Welle is one of my favorite books. To think that where is a real story behind it.

Sorry, if I always come here and leave random comments.

And I hope you will find a way to laugh back into dramas then :)
  • Bladey-Steeleye 2 days ago
Without your posts, MDL feel less joyful somehow, so I was very relieved to see you happily sharing your love for switch girl with your usual style and flair :) Ohh Die Welle has your stamp of approval it;s good I have it right here with me then, but I"m waiting until I finish dinner. I think it may disturbing and certanly one I need pay attention to. Yes, I think kdrama is wat wore me out too, OI finished watching incarnation of money but it was lackluster and there were some really bad choices made. I may still watch some movies but right now after Failan and Oldboy I don't think there can be any more movies to blow me away. Oh by the way I LOVED Last Autumn. It was so interesting and beautiful. Or maybe I just don't feel like watching becaise, ironically, in the UK the weather is as fine as they come right now. I do feel more need to be away from the computer when I can.

Hello Rita! Yes, this is my second change of nick, bur it's going to saty as Bladey Steeleye. I wanted to distinguish my nick from the nick used at some strange gaming sites I found it associated with. I'm really glad to see you around! And I"m even happier to hear from you. I saw your posts on the newsfeed, sounds like you found new drama inspiration :-) I, in turn, am once more turned off by dramas and now want to explore western cinema. I finished watching a couoke if dramas I really loved- like Tonbi (this one I can easily recommend by the way, endearing from start to finish, about father and son, it's a really warm-hearted watch) and right now I turned to exploring movies related to conigitive sciences. I only watched 28 of them so far and there are at least around 200 that I've seen listed. So I borrowed Die Welle. What are your upcoming drama plans? How have you been?
