The bromance made it worth watching

So many known people were acting in this show so I was excited to watch it. It wasn't as good as I had thought it would be but it wasn't that bad.

The bromance throughout the whole show was amazing and was the main thing they kept me from dropping it. I loved the character development and how every Hwarang became close with each other. It was just amazing and I love all their relationships. I do wish that some plots were explained/resolved better. The show introduced many side characters' issues but didn't properly resolve them so it just left me with questions at the end.

Now, one of the worst parts of the show: the female lead. Oh my gosh, the amount of times I had to pause watching cause I got annoyed with her. First of all, she's popular in town because she tells "erotic stories"... not to judge but that's kind of embarrassing during a time like that. (It's fine to tell those stories but being known around town as mainly that as your identity is kind of weird.) Second of all, in most of the episodes she's in, girl starts crying out of nowhere. Like ma'am why are you always crying. I'm fine with emotional characters but she cried in half her scenes so I started getting irritated. Plus, she always had to be saved by the ML or the second male lead. To me, she didn't have almost any of the personalities I look forward to seeing in a female lead.

Cute

It was a very cliche-filled cute drama. If you want an out of the ordinary plot, I suggest trying something else. If you just want to watch a cute little drama that reminds you of the 2016/2017 dramas, I recommend it. I think some people didn't like it because it looked older compared to other dramas that came out in 2021, but I didn't mind it. Some of the problems seemed like they could have been just talked out lowkey. The romantic scenes between the ML and FL were cute too and I liked their relationship.

Finish in a day type of watch

I don't remember it being as horrible as its rating is. In short, don't take this drama very seriously. I finished it in a day and didn't have a lot of expectations. I remember not hating it, but it also was kind of dumb? Not something I'd really recommend to others to watch but also I might rewatch it in the future just to remember what it was actually about. So just don't expect much from it, know it has dumb parts to it, and the guy is hot (hence why I watched it). If you're looking for a good drama to sit down and watch for a few days, I wouldn't recommend this. There wasn't much of a great plot.

Fun, but long, watch

It's not your typical 16-episode kdrama. It's more like those long, exaggerated family dramas (the types of dramas that characters in usual kdramas are shown watching) cause they're very dramatic, slow, and emotional. So they are a commitment but honestly I enjoyed watching this drama. It kept me interested almost all throughout the episode cause there was always something happening in the episodes. I found myself staying up late because I was so interested. I don't get why it has such low ratings honestly.

Liked (there are more things I liked but I can't exactly pin point them I think):
- Main FL (haha I'm in love with Seol In Nah and her character's so bubbly and strong)
- Main FL and ML's relationship was super cute
- We learned about everyone's little lives
- I think the 100 episodes was worth it, normally it would start getting boring, but this drama didn't
- Character developments! It was satisfying to see

Disliked (Spoilers in last 2 points):
- The dad at first bothered me but halfway I liked him more
- Hae Rang. Girl is not redeemable, she got me mad everytime I saw her on screen. Only the last episode made me ok with her but even then, it took her 99 episodes to be decent??
- All the lies. Like why are they so secretive. If someone break ups with someone, they just don't bother telling the rest of the family and lets them think everything is ok. Like there were so many times some characters could've just clarified some things to other characters, I don't get why they tried hiding everything all the time when the truth will come out one day.
- I still couldn't get over the affair and how they kind of forgot about that. Everytime I liked Do Jin Woo, I remembered his affair and couldn't look at him the same.
- The drama cover confused me because of who Seol Ah ends up with.

What Happened

Listen, the cast was fine af... but nothing else was. The actors and actresses are quite attractive, and the whole "color/filter" of the show was bright and fun.

The show honestly started off with potential and was going pretty good. Sadly, somewhere in there, I got lost. I also learned that I don't really like human-robot relationships unless it's done really well with a lot of emotions. But this show didn't cut it for me. The plot was pretty confusing to be honest and so much happened but also sometimes it felt like I couldn't catch up with the plot. The show wasn't my cup of tea to be honest.

One of the best friends-to-lovers

I really truly loved this show. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and this show carried it out so nicely. I loved that they had that deep connection with each for a long time since they were friends for a while. They know each other the best and always look for each other for comfort.

Also, this show is from 2011 so I was worried it would feel too old and cliched. But no, instead it felt kind of nostalgic to watch and it didn't have any cringey cliches. I loved that the FL was independent and strong. At first she did kind of annoy me, but as I kept watching, I saw that there was more to her and she's actually very caring. The ML is also just so sweet and has so much patience and just overall I love him. I also loved the little life lessons we get from every episode. It had me thinking about my life and the future.

It does take some time for the romantic part of their relationship to come, but I actually really liked that because I got to see and appreciate their friendship first, which is a big part of their relationship in general.

I highly recommend this show to anyone and everyone. I mean, even the title is pretty.

So this is love

WHEN I TELL YOU THIS IS MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE DRAMA. Just watch it honestly. I came in thinking I wouldn't like it cause magical superhero powers trope can sometimes turn out cringey. But man oh man, afterwards I fell in love with Park Boyoung and Park Hyungsik. Their romance, their chemistry, just amazing. It had a great mix of thriller and rom-com in it. The thriller part of the show always kept me on my toes but then the romance and comedy part of it always made me so happy. It's been almost 4 years since I watched this drama but I still think about it and go back to watch little clips here and there.

LOVED IT

This drama was my favorite drama of 2021, coming from a rom-com lover. The chemistry is a chef's kiss like go watch their behind the scenes right now! But anyways, second lead syndrome was pretty bad but as someone who is always falling more for the second lead, I actually really liked the main leads' relationship. I absolutely love the FL because she's so straightforward that there's rarely miscommunication in their relationship. The ML is Jang Ki Yong so you already know he's about to make me fall for him again. Overall, I highly recommend if you just want to watch a cute rom-com!

Cute! But Plot is Kinda Alright

This drama was pretty good! It had pretty cinematography, pretty people, and pretty outfits. I loved the relationship between the main leads and all the other side couples. I'm a fan of shows where the male lead does something wrong to the female lead but then continuously tries to make it up to her, and this show had that arc. I absolutely adored the main female lead's character and even the male lead was great too.

The only thing I would take off points for though, was the main conflict plot:
The main evil guy really tried ruining the world because a girl didn't like him back. Or at least that's how I saw it. The other bad girl Su Ying also really created problems cause of a guy who ended up not even liking her back. These villains gotta go to therapy for learning how to handle rejection instead of trying to ruin everyone's lives.
In addition, I also was just confused half the time with the different rules of the magic or whatever. I usually get confused with this stuff anyway, but I was just extra confused in this show. The ending was also kinda confusing for me because I have no clue where she came from. Either way, it is a happy ending! (But lowkey I wouldn't have minded a sad ending for this show cause this happy ending was kinda random/weird/confusing).

Overall, it's an average good drama. I wouldn't rate it any lower than 8.5 but also not higher than 9.0. I definitely don't regret watching it but it feels like it's missing some sort of impact idk.

Normal Office Rom-Com But Better Than Normal...?

I went into this drama not expecting much but it ended up being higher C-Drama list. I will say, it's nothing really exceptional, it's a normal office rom-com type of story. What made it stand out a little more to me was the FL and ML's relationship, their individual personality, and the way the show was directed.

Positives:
- First of all, the cast (especially our main leads) is so stunning. The FL's outfits were so pretty and stylish, I wanted to buy her whole wardrobe! She was honestly a girlboss and I was living for it. I like that she didn't dive into the idea of marriage and didn't immediately change her values when the ML came into her life. Her character development throughout the show was nice to watch cause she actually took her time to think about her values and slowly make progress. I'm honestly surprised Gina Jin isn't more popular cause her acting and looks are both great (she kind of reminded me of Seo Yeji, especially with the deeper voice).
- The ML was also cute and kind of clingy type which was cute to watch. He was also very good-looking wowzers. Seeing that this is one of his first main dramas, I would say he played his character pretty well. He matched the character.
- I also enjoyed Jing Jing's story arc with her whole husband situation. She was also very stylish so loved to see that.
- The OST was pretty good, I rarely find myself listening to OSTs but this one had some good songs.

Negatives?:
- I'm sorry but it was hard for me to believe that Ning Yuan was the second lead. No offense the actor cause I'm sure he has more emotions but NingYuan's face especially in the beginning was always so plain or angry looking. Looks don't matter but mans had no emotion :|
- Yan Ran needs to learn how to take no for an answer and stop hitting people. She had some bad traits but thankfully became a bit better near the end maybe?
- Duo Xi's story was boring to me (they were literally just a lovely couple, not much going on in their relationship besides that).
- I wish they focused on the ML's and his friend's motorcycle situation more and didn't rush it for the end.

Short drama had me wanting more

Non-Spoiler Part:
It was a really nice kdrama! I was hesitant before watching it especially since it's not talked about a lot, but decided to watch since it was only 12 episodes. I would definitely say it was worth it. I love "found-family" tropes so I loved that aspect of the show. I would recommend the show honestly because its plot is good, its characters are good, the acting was good, everything put together made a great drama.

Plus, I liked all the characters and their development. The main female seemed just to be cranky and a little selfish at first but then they showed us more parts of her character so I fell in love with her character. Kang Bae was also so sweet and he was understanding and just such a nice boy type of vibe. I also loved his relationship with Yeo Rin cause their personalities are so different but them together is so cute! Chef Gwi also was funny and always there for Wol Joo to rely on.
In the end, I wish it didn't end so quickly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commentary w/Spoiler (DON'T READ IF YOU DIDN'T WATCH YET):

I was kind of surprised they couldn't figure out that Won Hyung took over the Grim Reaper's body. I thought it was pretty obvious cause Grim Reaper was acting weird and off so I felt like they should've known something was up if they had known him for so long.

Expected More

I love Shen Yue and Jasper Liu so I was beyond excited to have them work together in a drama. Unfortunately, the drama wasn't that great of a drama. First of all, I don't understand how you can accidentally kiss someone while tripping/falling. I never understood or liked that trope and this drama didn't change it for me. Second of all, I am no doctor or educated in anything related to the medical field, but I don't understand the logic behind some of the medical explanations they had. But again, I am no doctor so I can't be sure that some of these explanations aren't realistic. In the end, I found myself watching the drama at 2x speed. I gave it an 8-star rating because the show/couple had its cute moments.

Didn't live up to expectations but wasn't bad

Ok, here's the thing: it wasn't what we all expected it to be. I expected a typical office romance drama but it wasn't?

+ It had a very melodrama feel and it was pretty enjoyable to watch every weekend.
- It's not something I would binge tbh and I think I enjoyed it as much as a did only because I watched it as it was airing. If I tried to binge, I'd probably get somewhat bored.
+ It was interesting hearing about the weather stuff and fun seeing weather compare to other real-life situations.
- They talk a lot about weather but I didn't really learn a whole lot about actual weather, except for the fact that if they mess up, they get criticized by the public (to be fair, I didn't watch this to get a weather lesson, but still they talk about the weather so much only for us to not gain that much info).
+ It was nice hearing everyone's mini stories. The side characters had interesting stories of their own so it was nice that the show focused on theirs too.
- The cheater couple was cute at the end and all, but in the beginning the cheater guy gave me second hand embarrassment so bad. I didn't really like the way they tried to redeem him and him acting all friendly with the girl he cheated on. Like he would come to her for everything even after all that, doesn't that embarrass him?? The man with family problems also sometimes annoyed me even though I know the whole point is that he can't take a hint, but still how can he keep running away from his family like that. When they're all together, it's a cute family though.

Overall, it wasn't a show I was crazy about but I don't regret watching it. To be honest, seeing it's cast, everyone was super excited but many people ended up dropping it and I get why. I will say one thing, I felt as though our main leads didn't have any chemistry. To me, some scenes just didn't feel right and felt awkward? I'm not sure, but I didn't personally feel any chemistry :( So anyway, although I didn't hate it, this drama may be boring for some so beware but feel free to try out a couple episodes. If you don't like the first few, I don't think you'll like the rest tbh.

I tried to like it

I honestly tried to like it and understand the characters but honestly I don't think I liked any of the characters.

The plot was kind of weird cause she's like his sister basically even though there's no blood connection. If you're ok with that, you could watch it.

The characters were kind of annoying because the FL kept getting into problems and always needed to be saved by the ML. I got irritated at some points cause it felt like she depended on him so much, and she just didn't have much of a personality. On the other hand, the ML was annoying cause he kept making her cook for him like dude you should maybe learn how to cook. And second of all, he was way too clingy. Now, don't get me wrong, I like clingy, but he was like obsessive like he wouldn't let her do her own thing which bothered me. I think space and limits are very important in any relationship but in this show, he just kept making her do things for him and what he wanted. Overall, I just didn't really enjoy this show, except some parts of their relationship is cute.
