King Maker becomes the King....

The ending was satisfying ... but it wasn't impactful enough?? I'm so glad that Tae Oh and Hye Won didn't end up together. Thank goodness, I was silently wishing the entire last two episodes for them not to end up together, or otherwise I'd really be disappointed.

Umm.... I'm actually glad it's over..... but what make me so sad is all the effort that went to waste. The acting was good, the directors were good, but the writer was just shit, making it all go to waste. Lee Jae Wook in Suits for almost 10 episodes was a candy to the eyes... but that's it..... that's the only thing that got me going until the 12the epi.

The story overall is told in a very shallow way and made complicated uselessly, when it could have been told in a much simpler way, especially HTO's king-making road.

And at the end of last episode, I can understand why the chairman made HTO the heir, I mean he was the one who was capable enough to protect the company and also save his life. But Seunju?? He just has a sudden realization that he didn't want all that....like really? And what??... We don't even get an explanation as to why In Ha did to what he did?? So many loose ends.

I hope Lee Jae Wook will get a better project next time...

[heart] [heart]

It started off as bland but then when you started to understand why things happened the way they did, it started getting interesting. Especially the murder mystery embroiled between the characters and trust me, when the real murder was revealed it actually got me by surprise. cuz I NEVER saw that coming!! and the reason behind it is something no one could have guessed! That's why I said, things get interesting when you know why they did to why they did.

And a [rose] for Kim So Hyun, my baby is getting better in her acting with each of her projects. [heart] [heart]

Despite the tacky title, the drama is worth a try.

The story depicts the story of a woman who goes through a breakup and how she deals with her carrier, emotions, social life and how she slowly gets over her heartbreak. In addition, there is the love story of Bo Ra friend's married life and how she deals with after-marriage problems, how Bo Ra co-worker deals with her life after divorce and her views of what divorce means, and there is also the story of Bo Ra sister and her teenage love story.

All in all, it was a good story.

Honestly, the story survived due to the Lee Seung Gi and Lee Se Young. Overall the story doesn't have any strong points, a story about a female lawyer whose absolutely thick-headed, dumb and stupid when it comes to love and a bum who is not actually a bum who loved her for some + years. The story is just lukewarm and not very impactful. There were a lot of happenings in the story but they weren't brought to light in a proper dynamic..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Absolutely Heartwarming

tbh this is the first-ever weekend drama with 50+ episodes that I watched without missing out on a single episode. The story is absolutely heartwarming, and a realistic portrayal of family relationships and relationships between lovers. The story focuses on the dating life of three close knitted brothers and their character development from being immature men to responsible husbands. With a mix of family relationships and twists here and there, the story is spiced up in a way that you don't feel bored at all.

tbh I'm not trying to find faults, but having a lot of characters in a movie is a considerable drawback. So I can guess that several parties from different countries are involved, but why keep mixing languages making it so messed up? The mandarin team should stick to mandarin, the English peeps should just continue to stick to that, of cuz maybe because their origin is the same (??). And trying to cover the story of all those side characters while ignoring the main characters and the object of all those peeps chasing....maybe they should stick to one story. There is a limit to what you can say within a 2-hour movie, why make it so messed up? But truly the only exciting thing is the fight scene at the end, but I feel they gave me a candy and then took it away before I can taste it. If you ask me The Witch Part 1 is waaaay better than Part 2.

This is a story about the people spanning for three generations in a little fishing village in Jeju. This is not about some smart uni graduate living in jeju or some cheobal coming to jeju to get away from the busy life of soul, this is a story about low income families and villagers barely graduating from high school, living in a little fishing village all their lives. Their entire world revolves around this little village and all their pain and happiness is etched within the confines of this village. Their biggest happiness is to earn a good daily wage and then go for a drink at the end of the day.

This is not one story but several story arcs telling the story of several people living in the little fishing village of Jeju.

The first arc is about Jung Eun Hee and her first love coming back to jeju. She thinks it is the right time to rekindle their love only to find that he was here to borrow money from her due to a failed business venture.

The second arc is between Bang Young Joo and Jung Hyun, two high school students. The girl gets pregnant with the guy's child. This is the most intriguing arch out of all for me because this talks about teenage pregnancy. The issue is debate worthy because this couple decides to keep the baby. I personally feel this is is a bad idea because the two are in high school and both of them don't have mothers and only two incompetent fathers as family members. And both their fathers barely make ends meet with their meager daily wages from working in the fish market. The couple have fantasies about doing their further studies after having the baby, but how far will it be possible? A baby needs attention and as they grow up they require more money and the couple are determined to raise the baby while doing further studies and doing a job while still relying on their father's daily wages. But I feel like their future plan is not very realistic considering their economical background. But I also understand why the kids decide to keep the baby. They are both brought up by their incompetent fathers without a mother's love, so both of them want to give the love that they didn't recieve to their baby, which is undestandable. But in the end will it be possible to give a good future to the baby while securing their own future??

The third arc is between Lee Dong Seok , a street stall owner and Min Seon Ah, a woman going through depression and divorce. Lee Dong Seok was her neighborhood oppa when she was little. Lee Dong Seok meets a depressed Min Seon Ah after years and helps her go through the worst period in her life as she struggles with dovorce and child custody lawsuit with her husband while fighting with her severe depression. Later her condition improved with the support of Lee Dong Seok.

The fourth arc is the love story between Lee Young Ok, a harvester and a captain of a ship, Park Jung Joon. Park Jung Joon pursues the beautiful Lee Young Ok, who is famous for being a player in the village. But Lee Young Ok has a lot of misgiving in her life and repeatedly rejects Park Jung Joon. Later they get together and the reason for her misgiving is revealed to be due to her disable twin sister who she has to look after for the rest of her life.

The fifth arc is about friendship. The story revolves around the friendship between Jung Eun Hee and her childhood friend who comes to jeju. This arch reveals the loyalty and talks about the pure friendship that was built over years in this little fishing village. The friendship described is so pure and simple. These people don't have complex minds and their hate and love is expressed in a pure and straightforward way that it's absolutely heartfelting.

The sixth arc is between Hyun Choon Hee and her grandchild who comes to Jeju for a few weeks after her father gets into an accident. The love between grandparent and grandchild is expressed in a raw but sweet way. The arch shows how the entire village get together to fulfill a childish fantasy of a little child which will make you want to cry.

The final arc is between Lee Dong Seok and his mother who is in her late stage of cancer. This story shows how Lee Dong Seok fulfilled his mother's last wishes before she died and how Lee Dong Seok reconciled with his decades long hate towards his mother after she remarried to another man when he was young.

Every arc speaks to the very depth of my heart. The story is absolutely the most heartfelt story I ever watched. Each and every episode makes me want to cry. There is no tragedy, just talks about the most basic human feeling to its very rawest level.
Apart from those arch it is also laced with other stories and pretty much talks about human nature and their feeling and thought to the most primary levels.

Each and every second is worth watching and I'm so glad that I didn’t drop this drama. The first 4 episodes are more or less an introduction to the lives of the people living in the village but things get interesting from the beginning of the second arc.

Beautiful

idk how else to describe this movie other than "Beautiful". The story looks simple but at the same time, it has depth to it. Talking about people's struggles, love, life, trauma was a very refreshing watch. I absolutely love this drama and it's worth the watch ..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Are they trying to kill me with cuteness overloaded??!!

I watched this drama 90% because of the little kid. OMG!! the kiddo is such an adorable cutie!! The kid is adorable enough but did they really have to add kittie noises in the background??!! Are they trying to kill me with cuteness overloaded??!!
The drama is really good. The acting is great. The chemistry between the lead is also good.
Basically, the story is about a pretty psychiatrist and a handsome CEO trying to cure the psychological issue of the CEO's kid, while the kid luvs her and wants the psychiatrist to be his mom. So the kid and his dad join together for a "Let's make the pretty psychiatrist my wife" project. XD

This story is basically revolves around the period of King Gwanghae and the coup that took place during his rule. The political aspect is not interesting but the love story is. I especially like it when at the beginning when the couple keeps bickering around like an old married couple and the kid keeps fanning the flames.
To sum the story up, it is about this guy who kidnaps a girl, find out that she's the "wrong girl" but too late to turn things back cuz she is also a " princess". and then they decide to pretend like a "married couple". but then the politics catch up and the couple gets drag into the political fight. blah blah blah.
granted that the actors are a bunch of veteran actors, the acting is obviously good.
I won't judge if watching this drama will be a waste of time or not. But for a historical drama it give quite a raw feeling.

The entire drama is overall good as expected for a daily drama. the acting is fairly good. the story is draggy provided that this is a 100 episode drama. but the story line is orderly. I find it quite acceptable.
But don't expect a lot from this drama. pretty much a so so. the characters are messed up mental people with no ounce of guilt. and there is the victim going in a revenge rampage, she becomes wild at the end (which is understandable).
But no matter what I can't agree with the ending. usually dramas like this tie up the loose ends at the end, being 100 episodes drama and all. but I find that the ending slightly dissatisfying.

The Rise of Phoenixes is a hunger games of the royal family.

I put off watching this for 2 years and finally I got the courage to watch this. 70 episodes?? tai duo le!! The story begins light heartedly, your everyday gender bender period drama mixed with politics and palace schemes. But over the length of the drama it transformed into many forms taking us through an emotional roller-coaster. Its hard to describe in one words, the emotional turmoil this makes you go through. The story is not perfect, its boring at times and interesting in another.

The acting is the most noteworthy in this drama. The main leads deliver us an unforgettable version of the broken Zhi wei and Ning Yi.
From the very beginning the drama hinted the possibility of tragic romance.

This drama has many flaws but I think its yet worth watching. I believe 70 episodes it too draggy. They dragged the story for 60 episodes and then fast forwarded the last 10. I pretty much skipped most of the first 20 episodes or so and the last few. But the middle part of it is interesting

In the span of 70 episodes Feng Zhi wei went from Zhi wei to Wei zhi to Ultimate scholar to Director Wei back to feng zhi wei then to Zhangsun Zhi wei to royal inspector wei and finally Queen of Jinshi. Which shows how much changes the story goes through over its course.

This is NOT another Descendants of the Sun.

First of all, I want to say this is NOT another descendant of the sun. when is first read the plot I was hesitating thinking it was going to be similar to DOTS but it's not. The FL is a doctor and the ML is a civil servant. the ML and SML are besties and that's pretty much where the similarity ends.

The story is super cute . i think i was pretty much smiling like an idiot for most of the 40 episodes. And the chemistry between the leads are so sweet. Sometimes i wonder if they actually include the bloopers into the drama because the lead couple seems to be having so much fun on screen.

There are intense moments, cute moments, cringy moments which are perfectly executed by the leads. This is one of those Cdramas that should end up in your watchlist.

A BL that is worth watching

Although I'm a fujoshi, I don't watch many BL but read ALOT of BL novels. And of the BLs I watched so far this is so far THE BEST!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!
The plot was interesting, keeping you in suspense. The acting was excellent and didn't make me cringe. And the chemistry between ALL the couples in the drama is *internally screaming* SO DAMN GOOD!!
And the steamy scenes........*drooling*
...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
This is definitely a BL that is worth watching.

The true satisfaction comes when you look at the entire plot.

From what I realized is that everyone has mixed reviews on this drama. So If you want to watch this drama there are a few things you need to know.

1. The start is slow, like any other normal drama to a point that will make you even wonder why everyone is making such a fuss about it. But believe me when I say it's going to snowball into something really good. At times you will find yourself at the edge of your seat and the next second rolling off it while laughing.

2. You're going to meet the most eccentric bunch of characters, that you won't see in any other drama. The only sane character is Vincenzo and he later gets influenced by those bunch of weirdos down the story. At first, you will probably find it exasperating, but trust me those characters will grow on you.

3. Truthfully the story doesn't have much depth to it. but the true satisfaction comes when you look at the entire plot. Usually, most of the stories are good guys vs bad guys. but have you ever watch an evil guy standing alongside the good guys and kick the asses of another bad guy? and the satisfaction of the bad guys losing at every corner because of one big baddie on the good side!!!

To sum the story up, it's about the evil Wusang- Babel family bullying the Geumga family and the rest of the society with their power and money. This powerless party pairs with Vincenzo Cassano to fight against the opposing party. So a fight between the Cassano - Geumga family Vs. Wusang - Babel Family ensures. To put it simply it's like a fight between Godzilla vs king kong.
