Not meant as a stand-alone movie

Before watching this, you should watch the prequel mini-series to make sense of it. It's really cute, kind of an F4/Boys Over Flowers thing. I watched this first before the prequel and I kept on wishing that the movie would show the reason behind the leads' actions. The movie did show some glimpse of what happened in the prequel but it's not enough. And it's not the film's fault because this is meant to be watched after the series and not as a stand-alone movie.

The actors acted on point and it's really cute and funny once you get the to know the whole story (mini-series + movie). The movie in itself also portrays the brotherly love of 2 friends who had grew up together.

Didn't expect to be hooked

I never thought I'd enjoy this show. I wasn't expecting anything and was pleasantly surprised to be hooked around midway or so of the series. I love how the story was introduced / started. Tengteng and Lichen's character are cute from the start. Though the story between Xeng Si and Yong Jie is on a more serious note, it added balance to the show. I love that Xeng Si became the "mentor" of the other two couples to smoothen out their relationship. The BL fangirls are also somewhat funny.

Fun, Light, But Insightful

I didn't expect this show to be on point to what I currently feel about relationships. I watched this show looking for some fun, light story with sweet moments and I'm not disappointed. The deep insights on relationships is a welcome surprise. If you're looking for steamy scenes or fast-paced storylines, this is not for you. It has a lot of sweet kisses but that's it.

I wished the side stories had more time, which would have resulted to a longer/more episodes. It would have added more fun to the show. But all in all, it ended with a good note for both side stories and the main couple.

Not a Batman Spinoff

When I was watching the first few minutes, I thought this was a Batman spinoff and I was ready to drop it but as with other shows, I gave it a chance. Luckily I didn't drop it and it's far from being a Batman spinoff. I am already enjoying it and it's just the second episode. To be honest, I haven't seen much shows from the leads and this was a fresh breather for me to see "new" faces that can act on point. The action is nicely done. The comedy is not forced and not slapstick either. Seeing that there's a romance in the genre makes me wonder how it will pan out.

I am looking forward to watching every episode of this series.

Funny and heartwarming

I was looking for something light and this did not disappoint. If you need a good laugh, then this one is for you. This also have romance but don't look for hot scenes as this show is not that lol.

I did not expect to enjoy it but I was pleasantly surprised. The twist near the end made this show all the more worth watching. A light-hearted, funny, cheesy, and with life lessons that people can relate. This is sort of a coming-of-age story but in the adult/workplace scene. And it was beautifully presented with very good actors and actresses that acted on point.

Not that bad, but it could have been better

I enjoyed this drama at the beginning. I even thought this will be in one of my fave dramas list. But in the latter part, some scenes just don't make sense.

The part of the old man who wants to buy the restaurant doesn't make sense. In the beginning, he was there to show the love and conflict between the brothers/family but at the end, his role just didn't make sense.

The acting of ML at the end is a bit forced. Maybe he's just not used to act romantically in front of the camera, as his acting was ok in the prior scenes. I had also watched him in Alice in Borderland and he's also good in it.

Overall, it's not that bad, but it could have been better.

It Didn't Kill My Heart

This might have been the first time I watched a show where I know that the ending will be a tragic one. I don't like sad endings, hence I watch shows that are already finished so I'll know beforehand if it's a sad or happy ending. But I watched this show because the story will make you glued to your seats, and I'm hoping that the main villain will somehow pay for what he did. Aside of course that the acting are on par. The fighting scenes are nicely done as well. And the lighthearted moments will make you chuckle or even laugh. All in all, this is a show that will pull through your heartstrings.

A smuggling story about betrayal, friendship, and justice

As the title goes, it's a story about smuggling. But more so, it's a story about betrayal, friendship, and justice. The story was well-written and some scenes can be improved but all in all, I can say this is a good watch. Could have been better but definitely not a waste of your time.

Around 30-40 minutes into the movie, I was ready to quit watching. But I can't believe that an all-star-cast will just have a nonsense movie. So I persevered. Around 20-30 minutes after the hour, it gets exciting. As the American saying goes, now we're cooking gas lol. It might be a slow start but it really gave a satisfying ending. We already know that the cast are high-caliber actors and actresses so their performance is to a T. The story is well-made. The first part was a bit slow but it might have been caused by poor English subtitles as well. Good thing I know a Korean or two so I was able to persevere lol.

The slow start also made me not expect any big twists. But fortunately it did. And surprisingly, things turned out really well. The diving scenes were really majestic. And the fighting scenes are good. What more can you expect from Zo In Sung? Though I wished they had made more fighting scenes.

My wish now is to see Yeom Jung Ah and Zo In Sung work together in a project where they interact more, which, unfortunately, this film didn't give.

Not as bad as you might think

I wasn't going to write a review but with all the bad reviews I've been reading, I decided to write one instead. First of all, I think being a parent changes a person's perspective in life. The decisions that FL made may make most women hate her, feel that she's dumb and such. But if you're a mom, or taking her POV as a mother, then you'll understand that no matter what, you want to give the best to your children. Their future, their stability, a complete family. As a parent, you're willing to sacrifice your own happiness if you think it will make your children happy.

The mistress was blinded by love, and clung to her childhood sweetheart even if it hurts her or if it caused her to hurt another person or family. Part of her hid in the thought that it's what her daughter wants. And part of it is because she wants to give her daughter a complete family. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending her. I just understand what triggered her to do the things she did.

The ML was a mama's boy who can't decide from himself. Having a mistress that his mother didn't know made him feel that he's deciding something for himself. Plus the fact that he never thought his wife will have the courage to leave him no matter what happens. Again, I'm not defending the ML,

Understanding and agreeing are two separate things.

I like that they had put comedy into this show, or I won't be watching this, as I really don't watch shows about mistresses. Though at times, the comedy is not really funny. I liked that they show how FL stand up for herself amidst the challenges that she faced. I also liked that they gave the FL a peaceful and successful ending, and that everyone is happy and at peace. Though that seldom happens in real life, but hey, this is fiction :)

Pleasantly Surprised

Initially, I thought that this series will just showcase Kim Min Gyu's idol face. And I was ok with that. But I am pleasantly surprised that this is more to it than that. Though the twist at the end is surprising. I'm not sure if it's in a good way but somehow it made me sad story-wise. Not that the story is bad, but you'll see what I mean when you watch it.

I'm glad that this story tackled the stories behind idol groups. I love that they showed the intense training in a light way. I also loved that they showed that being an idol is not just dancing, singing, and acting, That they are persons who have family struggles as well.

Overall, I enjoyed this show more than I think I would. Bonus scenes is Kim Min Gyu's kissing style lol

Not a historical-fantasy genre

This is a bit (or too) slow and I would have dropped this but
1. I want to see Kim Min Gue's good acting skills
2, I want to see how the story ends

If you're looking for a historical fantasy then this might not be for you. This is more of a historical drama than a historical fantasy. The story is told too slow but it kinda picked up starting at the end of ep 11. The story can be intense at times. The actors did a good job portraying their characters. You'll love and hate them as the story unfolds.

I first saw Kim Min Gue in The Business Proposal and his acting here can't deny that he has a great skill and is one of the actors to be reckoned with.

Ordinary but not Ordinary Legal Drama

I Initially thought that this is a common legal drama and I wouldn't have minded since I love legal drama but I'm pleasantly surprised and real glad that I watched this. It is a common legal drama with twists that I love. I also loved that it didn't have the they-knew-each-other-when-they're-kids which seems common in KDramas.

The story was well-written and it will keep you guessing. It might be a little gross for some as they showed some of the tortured dead bodies.

For me, the FL acts ok but it seems she's not fit for crying roles. I like her acting when she's not doing her crying scenes. I specially liked her chemistry with the ML, their bickering is really cute. I also liked that even if this didn't have that much romance. it didn't lack the heartwarming and cute scenes either.

For those who enjoyed Vincenzo, Why Her, and the likes, I'm sure you'll enjoy this one too

Aside from the not-so-good-subs...

Unfortunately the subs were not that good so this may be an inaccurate review. (Plus reviews are really subjective and depends on a person's interests).

This shows a sweet and funny love story but it can be improved a lot. Even though it is just a short series, the storytelling can be improved so it will make better sense for the viewers.

I like the fact that they added second leads and was also able to share their story in a natural manner. This is actually one of the good points of the show.

There are instances that the acting is half-baked specially by the FL.

Stream it or skip it? The whole series is just around 2 hours long. If you like the premise / plot of the story then you'll enjoy this one. Though there are better shows, you can stream this if you're just looking for some short romance series.

I was looking for the 4th knight

I had been wondering who the 4th knight was and had guessed it to be the secretary as he is shown as one of the lead actors in the show's opening sequence. In a manner, he is a knight as he's the first one to protect "Cinderella".

I love how the show showcased that even if you don't get along well with your family, in the end, it's always your family that you can count on. The sweet moments of the main couple will also make you swoon.

I love how they showed the backstory of the 3 knights though it would have been better if they showed what the secretary was protecting when he was practicing karate when he was young. I'm also curious as to how the Chairman's sons was when they were alive and how it has transcended to their sons' mannerisms or attitude. Though this might be better done as prequel lol.

It's also unbelievable that the Chairman's wife really loved him as there was a scene of his wife talking on the phone and plotting against the 3 grandsons.

All in all, this is a light, sweet show worth watching specially if you're missing F4 (like I was when I started watching this lol)

Not sure about all the hate...

Not sure about all the hate but this is not an awful show as others may have perceived it. I agree that it's not a superb show. There are even lots of comedy scenes that didn't hit the mark. But I like that it showcased the importance of family, and that family is not about blood but about quality time you shared.

I also like that the female lead is not feeble-minded on deciding who she wants to spend her life. Even though she has 2 men vying for her attention, she didn't take it for granted and didn't play with their emotions. She didn't go back and forth on both men. She was decisive and I think it's a good trait.

I also like that they added a mix of suspense/detective scenes, as well as a bit of a bromance.
