A movie full of class, personality, and meaning. I didn't expect that.

It's not often I give 10 star ratings. My P.S. Partner is the best Korean movie I have ever seen. Everything from the cast to the music to the expressive acting is perfection. Let's get into it.

Story: The plot of this movie is pretty standard and stays true to most rom-com tropes and cliches. Thankfully, it did them so well. I can't stand over the top dramatic plot elements, and this movie knew exactly where it wanted to go and how to get there. Nothing was forced and everything was plausible within it's own world. Heartbreak, love, friendship, more heartbreak, laughter, you name it. The plot points felt meaningful and natural where nothing was contrived and it all made sense. In the world that was created, the story just came to life.

Acting/Cast: Prior to watching this I was largely unfamiliar with the cast, but this is not usually an issue for me. For those of you who have doubts about acting quality demonstrated in this film, let me assure you, there is none lacking. I have never felt for characters so profoundly.  Everything they said and felt was completely relatable. We've all been there before, or we know we might one day. It's almost like this is a coming of age film, except the angst and emotions are through people in their 20's, struggling to settle down. The themes explored in this movie are very real and very accessible, something I find equally refreshing.

Music: Usually this is the section I rate the worst. I don't care too much for the soundtracks in most films or shows since they usually all blend together and sound the same after a while. This is not the case for P.S. Partner. No spoliers, but if you watch, you'll understand why.

Re-watch Value: I've seen this at least 10 times over the course of a year and a half. That should speak for itself. I probably see it twice a year: once around Christmas, and once in the spring or summer.

Overall: 10/10. Hands down, no question. This will always be one of my favorite movies period. Give it a try.

The weird situational humor expressed in this show reminds me an awful lot of the late night television show in the states. At some points this has a kind of Seinfeld feel, where the characters have managed to find themselves in absolutely ridiculous situations (or Arrested Development for those who haven't seen it). These situations are often a result of their varied and strange personalities coming into clash with the real world, and it's hilarious to see.

Story: This show is largely episodic, meaning each episode will have two unique stories within that can act independently from the others. This isn't to say that it doesn't have a larger story--it does-- but rather that you won't feel like you need to catch up on what happened should you take a break from watching it. The actual plot lines are fun and simple, something that works well with the overall humor of the show. There were many times when I was choking on my spit, and I have no doubt you will too.

Acting: Amazing work by the actors. Phenomenal, really. They nailed the personalities and really are the main reason this show dazzles like it does.

Music: Simple and good. Pretty forgettable, but that's not why you watch a show like this.

Re-watch Value: Great! The episodes are so short that if you need a quick pick-me-up or are looking for something really late at night, they're always a good choice. The episodes remain hilarious even after a few watches, so no problem there. I highly recommend this show.
