So before this one started airing I would think to myself 'Why watch a drama about cheating?',but then I decided to give it a try out of curiosity..I have to admit that the first thing that grabbed my attention was Lee Sun Kyun's performance, basically from the first moment he appeared on screen.Thankfully, this drama proved to be one of those rare gems that k-dramaland unexpectedly throws at us from time to time. It's a slice of life drama whose premise and characters are so very realistic, human and relatable. What makes it stand out is that it gets you to contemplate a lot.As the story unfolds you find yourself asking questions, looking for answers, and trying to understand 'human nature'.You don't just focus on the sole event of adultery ; You dig deeper and think about love, marriage, family, what might drive partners apart, divorce, commitment, emotional wounds,self-knowledge,forgiveness,new beginnings, the dynamics between men & women, and how those (may) interrelate with (other) social mechanisms, society's stereotypes, expectations etc etc.The drama approached these topics/issues in a serious, raw and decent way, there was no sugarcoating and cliches. The acting didn't feel like acting in the sense that it was like watching/observing real people like you and me living and dealing with life.I can't praise LSK enough at this point because he fleshed out HW so naturally & vividly that you could feel and experience yourself what he was feeling and experiencing.By the way,my second favorite character was the one portrayed by Lee Sang Yeob who was the ultimate lovely drama queen bae ;) This drama speaks to your heart..and your feels deeply. You feel for the characters, you sympathize with them, you get heartbroken, sad, desperate, angry, furstrated, you cry,and you go through all that along with them and because of them, and at the end of the day you just want to see them find their way and be happy whatever that may mean for each one of them.Surprisingly enough there are enough entertaining and funny sequences that kind of balance out the "heavy" theme of the drama. The ost includes cool emotional indie songs. To be honest,I don't rewatch dramas as much as I may love them // PS: I guess this drama is not for everyone.I mean,it's for mature viewers (this doesn't necessarily have to do with age),for thinkers, for open-minded viewers who want to watch something different for a change. And please,if this drama isn't your cup of tea, don't badmouth it because that would be unfair for such a quality drama.
