Character development done right.

I had a lot of issues with this series in the beginning.

Mew does not look like a college student he looks like his actual age which is (at the time of this show airing is 28.) Now Gulf who was 22 at the tie can easily pass for a 19/20 year old college student.

What Tharn did to Type at the end of episode one was uncalled for and is basically sexual harassment. Why he would even want to kiss and give a hickey to his roommate who is homophobic is beyond me. I understand he wants to get back at Type but that’s not the way do to it.

The whole scene when Type insulted Tharn’s dad, I understand Tharn’s initial reaction, the anger, but when he saw how upset and distraught Type became he should have immediately stopped. I will say I did like Gulf’s acting, he really showed his range from being able to go from a loud-mouth ass to a scared man in a split second. I’ve seen reviews where people say Type is a walking red flag and he is, I’m not disagreeing with that but I also think Tharn has some serious red flags as well.

Although I will say that boba scene in episode 2 was pretty funny.

It took a while but I finally understood Tar's storyline. My main issue is this show has so many character we follow I have trouble remembering them all.

I did not really care for Tharn assaulting Type in the shower, that seemed like a bit too much and uncalled for. Type didn’t give consent and I don’t fly with that.

I think Type’s reaction was a little warranted when he pushed the guy off of him that was feeling him up. He said no, they both proceeded to take his picture and while I don’t think he should have said what he did and called him a sissy. I think his reaction was valid. And for them to blast his picture was a little much. Yes, he should not have called him a sissy and said he couldn’t stand people like him (gays) but they are the ones who harassed him in the first place. Plus, it’s funny how they only paint themselves in a good light, they didn’t mention him saying no first and then getting felt up when he was clearly uncomfortable. God, this whole scene makes me mad.

Type coming clean to Tharn about his trauma is a turning point for him. Gulf did a great job portraying the emotions and while it felt a little odd Type just coming straight out and telling Tharn, was a really heartbreaking scene. At least Tharn now knows why Type ‘hates’ him and gay people, it’s because he has unresolved trauma. It’s hilarious watching Techno and Type gush about Tharn in front of their friends and then gaslight the shit out of them.

I’m not sure how I feel about San having sex with a 14 year old Tharn. I don’t know what San’s age is or how old he was during that, plus the fact that Tharn does the same thing with Tar… I also don’t really care for how Thorn is just okay with his best friend having sex with his 14 year old brother, Thorn beating him up once was enough for them to go back to being bffs? Also, the fact that San is so actively trying to pursue Tharn enough that he told his best friend aka Tharn’s brother, and is ignoring the obvious signs Tharn is showing that he’s not interested in him anymore if troubling.

When Tharn defends San kissing him to Type made me mad. I’ll admit San made some good points to Type about his action and disregard to Tharn’s feelings but, you can keep a relationship a secret without it being a big deal. True Type’s main reason was he didn’t want people to know he was dating a man, but he told Techno and admitted he was dating Tharn to San. For Type, that is a big step and shows his slow-going growth. I understand wanting to protect someone but the way San went about it was absolutely wrong for so many reasons. Plus the amount of times Tharn gets punched in this show is kind of ridiculous.

I will say Type had the hreatest character development I've ever seen. I really grew to like his and Tharn's relationship at the end.

Sweet as honey

It was a lovely movie, even though by the end it got way too dramatic (in hardcore soap opera style, it was too much for my taste; knowing there's a second part, I didn't even expect Golf's death - now I know it will turn out to be fake, but still...)

I hope the next part will have a happy ending: I want to see Golf and Bank back together, I want them to get the apologies they both deserve from their family, I want to see Auntie dearest being told to mind her own business and f# off :P

After 3 tries..it definitely won me over

The ending is the best possible one there could have been. Anything else would have been a fantasy and lala land. As long as this drama was, there was never a dull moment, every scene meant some thing, every character was significant...which I adored. Perhaps this could have been different had "communication" been a legit thing, but it seems in this era...it was all half messages and truths and expectations.

All said, it took me 3 times to really settle down and say, yes let me knock this out....it's only 70 episodes, but it was really worth it.

Flaws were not a result of anyone's acting, which was astounding (although the whole voice change and need to whisper in the most unnecessary amounts was slightly annoying). Flaws were due to the characters themselves and well, that drove the story. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who can deep dive into a hard core historical drama ..it's gets better and better.

Misleading title and summary

While an enjoyable watch and the story is good, the title and summary provided in the site is misleading as this series focus more on the back story and the revenge plot of the antagonist. The so-called "shop" and even the niece were mere plot devices.

The back and forth between the past and the present provided a great way to stitch the narrative together and helped the viewer find out why assassins were after the niece. But then again contrary to what is on the title and on the summaries, the assassination attempt has nothing to do with the shop or the identity of the niece but has to do with what happened in the past.

It feels like the element related to a Company takeover of the shop was shoved in just so the title would make sense. At its core this is a revenge drama about a villain throwing a tantrum because he was chastised in the past for his criminal deeds.

episode 13 felt like a finale

it started out good but the logic flew out of the window in the middle of the series. there's also a lot of things that bothered me while watching.
- antagonists were made stupid as possible to make leads seem smart. it made me think that i'm watching some wattpad live action series. description of a psycho rich girl who tries to take the MC's man belongs right to that app
- the leads' acting was horrendous at times (especially during crying scenes), which made me less sympathetic towards MCs. wipe those teardrops of your face
- phone's plot line would've worked so much better if
a) there was another phone holder (who was trying to save one of the antagonists)
or
b) only yuan xia could accept phone calls
or
c) every time yuan xia survives, someone else d!es
unlike most of the other people, i liked the fact that they didn't threw in random comedy bits and kept leads' relationship romantic and realistic at the same time. second lead' couple didn't make me roll my eyes which was another plus.

It is always the least anticipated one that does wonders

When everyone was waiting for all the big dramas of the year to finally air and end the wait...all they did were just to disappoint the viewers with mediocre acting or boring script. Excessive CGI and stellar cast cannot save the drama either if the plot isn't going anywhere. And we have been graced with such CDramas for quite some time in the last few months. I really find it interesting that most of the dramas that are not hyped much ends up being the best ones. It was the case for this drama as well.
The story isn't too complex to give you headache but still makes you want to stick till the end and despite having many loopholes here or there you would still be on the edge and wait for the next episode. There is nothing much to nitpick about acting when veteran actors are in the side roles and many of the actors that we already love are in the drama. I was surprised by a few actors who didn't leave much impression on me in their other shows but despite small role they did really very well in this one. The main cast and and their characters reminds me of LLTG a lot. ML is just so Ling Buyi and FL is just like Shaoshang. (If you tone down them a little). I loved all the scheming and bonding of the characters. Though the main lead do not interact a lot (especially in the first half) but when they do it is all sparks. All the subtle expressions and longing eyes are enough to make your heart flutter. Special mention for the music competition episode- it was little too much but still very beautiful. From music to production design everything is top notch.
Overall it is one of the greatest dramas of this year which you shouldn't miss at all. I highly recommend this one.

Wow

Indeed an amazing drama. I fell in love with Byun Wooseok and I'm now part of his fandom lol! I started watching this three days ago and already finished, and I'm so glad I gave it a shot (despite it being during finals season.... help!!).
The OST is unforgettable and I loved the whole concept of the drama. There are a few reasons why I didn't give it 10 stars though:
1) There were some holes in the story that made me uncomfortable at times. I don't want to include spoilers in this review so I won't go into detail but I think that all time-travel stories are bound to have some "unexplained" events, and it's okay because it's worth it! The story was fun even though it has some loose ends.
2) I think the first 5 episodes are the best of the whole show. I loved the beginning of this story and I wish we had spent more time there. I don't want to be preachy or politically right about this, but I wish we had had more time with original timeline Sol and Sunjae. I think it was a shame that they took the.... characteristics... of both characters in the first episode. I understand why (related to time-traveling consequences) but still; it's like they were used just to add drama.
3) I love the FL and I understand why she was affected by all that happened in the show, but having her cry in every episode is a bit much. And, in my opinion, she doesn't express mature happiness or love as well as she does innocent/childish happiness and love. There were parts where I was like "You don't seem all that happy??" Hahaha but she is a good actress, don't get me wrong.

I loved the chemistry between all the characters! It is an unforgettable drama, that's for sure.

A Sassy Romcom with Quirky Characters

WeTv’s new Thai Boylove series “Knock Knock, Boys!” is a surprisingly intriguing series. Four strangers move into a boarding house, each with pasts their secretive about. But three of the four share the same fate of being broke twenty-something’s, a fate the youngest of them doesn’t share. The virgin, Almond (Nokia Chinnawat) is quite rich and offers a deal to his new roommates. Whoever can help him “pop his cherry” with the man he crushes on will have their rent paid for a year. Something Peak (Best Vittawin), Thanwa (Seng Wichai), and Latte (Jaonine Jiraphat) jump at.

Why Did I Watch This Show

I waited so long to watch this drama, but was sorely disappointed!

This show was by far the biggest disappointment of 2024. Having watched the trailer last year, “Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact” was one of my most anticipated dramas this year. A beautiful cast paired with some stunning CGI and a commendable story line, this show was expected to be a win-win situation. Unfortunately, it was anything but that. Spurned by repetitive cliche plots, subpar love stories and no chemistry between the main couple, the drama became boring with each episode that went by. The only reason to trudge through this horrible experience was to write this review. There were moments when I wanted to disconnect, scenes where I fast forwarded the track to get done with the entire fiscal situation and scenarios where I wanted to drop the show entirely. There isn’t much to talk about, so let’s get done with this review in a few words!

BEAUTIFUL CINEMATOGRAPHY IN BL CATEGORY

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.

Everything here is outstanding, this is ACTING!

cansei :(

The First Chinese Drama I Rated Perfect Stars

Role's Character - All the actors play their roles well. Personally, I like the character Xiaodong here. In the first 5 episodes, I thought he would strongly oppose his sister's relationship with the main lead. But unexpectedly, Xiaodong's character actually has a significant role in the development of the main relationship.

Sports - They took the sport theme seriously. The author embeds many details related to Billiards so that viewers can enjoy the sports aspect of this series. People who are not familiar with billiards will be enthusiastic to learn about this sport. For instance, we realize that the author has an additional goal of raising public awareness about this underrated sport that hasn't gained much popularity. Since watching this, I've started looking into billiards, such as the basic rules during matches and the playing techniques.

Romance Development - I love how there's no unnecessary love-conflicts in the main role's romance development. Where you used to waatch series with triangle-love, unrequited love, couple that still lingered in their gloomy past, family conflict, extreme parental opposition, etc. Istead, this series shows so much green light vibes that make audience enjoy the watch. No stressful feeling is what i like the most about this series.

On-going relationship - The story is beautifully written by the author and neatly executed by the producers. There are tiny details that related to our real life. sleepcall & making a private account/second account to confide about love-life is something that we often to do in real life when we have a crush and lowkey want to talk about them in your private account. You couldn't find much about this detail in other series i bet.

Musics - I'm not too concerned with the songs in this series. However, there are some background music and instrumental tracks that are very pleasant to listen to and soothing to the heart.

I came her to vent - major spoiler below

It was a 7.5 for me up until ep 31. cute time filler. At Episode 30 it was a nice ending, and very cute wrap up, even the ML and rival (3ML?) resolved their issues and got together. Their chemistry was good and really sweet. The way ML looks at FL is the best part of the chemistry. ML and FL actors are very good. I keep reading about the kissing.. I mean, I guess, compared to the CDs where they touch lips and do nothing, these are real, and not bad. But if you've ever kissed anyone, or seen a regular kiss onscreen, I mean, don't just tune in for that. You'll be disappointed.

And then episode 31 - 36 happened. Wait, what are we doing here....didn't this thing just end? sadly, it did not. Because here, I guess because the network wanted 36 episodes, they made up an enemy. ML's rival (3ML?) for 30 episodes was a conscientious, caring man terribly abused by his adoptive family who sets out to right a grievous wrong done to someone 5 years ago, does a complete 180 and becomes evil? No character building. No reasoning. just "two years later". It's completely and utterly inconsistent with his character from when we saw him as a child to age 30. What's his motivation for changing so drastically? Nothing. Calling complete bull**t on that.. For that reason, it gets a 5.5. Really disgusted with what the writers did to that character. They didn't have to find a cute girl for him and wrap it up with a bow, but dang,, make him act a in a way that is remotely similar to his character.,

If you watch it, stop at the first happy ending, episode 30.

It’s Not a lakorn, it’s a kdrama for me ^^

The cinematography is perfect, the romance is also perfect, the music, the atmosphere... The story... everything is neat and the way it is shot really looks like a kdrama, not a lakorn.

I highly recommend it because it is unique in its kind there are no two like it.

The actors are good and the alchemy between the two is green flag
