A Nice Bit of Silly Fluff

Another completely biased review from me to you.

Initial impressions: if Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella started smoking crack together late at night they might come up with this storyline. I don't know wtaf is going on but l am laughing my ass off. Really super attractive cast with great wardrobe and hair. (Including 'those ladies' lol.) The location (hotel?) is wonderful too. BTW, this has nothing to do with What's Wrong With Secretary Kim so far. Completely different story line. And since each episode is ~10 minutes long, including the intro/exit credits at around 1-2 minutes, leaving about 7 minutes or so of story, you can easily watch this in a couple of hours. I do wish the subtitles were a bit better, but having them be so bad actually adds to the weirdness.

Episode 1, I think she got sucked into a book world/game? ?
Episode 2, I shouldn't be laughing this much for such a silly show but I am.
Episode 3, the 'falling into a kiss' trope is done so badly and yet so well. Definitely LOL! Also same actor is playing 2 roles (so far) 'since all bossy bosses look alike, and the budget for the cover of web fiction is limited'?
Episode 4 with him boxing ?I just can't.....
Episode 5, I can't believe how adorable the ML is, allergic to alcohol and the FL was able to save him with mouth to mouth!
Episode 6, the ML is playing yet another character? Too funny. And the chef is great!
Episode 7, oh no, ML doesn't remember her. Boohoo!
Episode 8, hmmm aphrodisiac drug trope?
Episdode 9, well that's one hell of a twist on the drug trope! lol
Episode 10, ok, the pigeons in the courtyard scene was pretty cool
Episode 11, cheesiest lines with the new "SML"! But I love her. Best "SML" ever! And this is a story line that I'm having a hard time believing got through the censors
Episode 12, another twist! I like the 'real' ML's character too! And whoa, the "SML" really looks beautifully androgenous in that suit dress.
Episode 13, the playing scene is a bit silly

Episode 15, another interesting twist! My head is starting to spin with all the twisting. but why did it have to get all angsty? I wish it would have stayed light-hearted and weird
Episode 16, hanging off the merman's ass lol
Episode 17, the edge of the world is pretty cool. why do FLs always talk out loud to themselves in such embarrassing ways? Just curious. Why is his tux so awful, the rest of his clothes are wonderful!
Episode 18, I don't understand the changing the card bit. Or the wedding
Episode 19, and evil NPC? 'the bus takes 30 minutes' lol
Episode 20, wedding kiss, what an awesome scene! But damn, that ending after all that silly fun! "you are the determination in my chaotic life" and the huge smile on her face, at first. And then....

Very interesting plot only for it to breakdown halfway towards the end

Just for disclaimer i was both of the leads fans, but being a fan doesn't mean i can't critic their work ok.

I already watched this drama before it became the hot topic over the neighborhood lol, it was because i like the fl and the ml previous work (sky castle and 20th century girl). I was so crazy about it when episode 2 was dropped, i was gagged and it got more exciting.

But the disappointment hits me at 10ish episode, because there was no character or even plot development at all. The plot losed it focus when they started to date i think. I know the main point in this drama is to save sunjae, and this drama is a romcom, but i really really hope that the fl and ml could have more bond with other characters too. I think it got to the point that other characters are pointless(?) and written just to fill the void. The ml's world is only imsol, he will do anything just to be with imsol, it's like he has no character at all because his decisions are easily influenced by his loved ones (imsol) (i know it's a romcom but come on... you can be lovey dovey while doing other things too). Same goes for the fl... It's like their character couldn't care less about other people if it's not about their gf/bf.

And the fl character is bad written imo, thank god hyeyoon saves it with her acting. She's supposed to be 30s yo woman trapped in higschooler body, but she even acts more childish than the highschooler could be. I know sol's character main purpose is to save sunjae, but she's too careless, has no plan, and just couldn't think straight (and i can't relate to it maybe that's why i can't empathize with her character).

Overall the acting was good enough, and the chemistry was fire. But there were probably some parts that's not really enjoyable to watch. Idk if it's because sol character is bad written or whatever it's, but sometimes the "i'm shocked" in sol's face kinda unnatural and i could tell that she's trying to act there, but other than that it was just great.

It's just my opinion, yall could try to watch it if you're interested, because i swear the few early episodes was dope tho ngl.

An unorthodox Red film, an absolute must-watch.

-SPOILERS FOR THE STORY-
An American doctor falls in love with a girl who loves a wanted revolutionist when she gets him to treat the Chinese guy for one of his ptsd attacks, where he falls into a stupor and chants his dead wife's name. Despite knowing the girl and the guy's love isn't mutual, the doctor only asks the girl's permission to date her and upon rejection, doesn't persuade her. He helps the guy get an Xray to see what causes his attacks, it's a sharpnel embedded in his brain, without removing it he will die soon but removal might result in paralysis.
Because of his entanglement in the political situation, he loses his job and the girl gets arrested, and the revolutionist tells him that he has realised he has truly moved on from his wife's death, and now he's nearing his death because of the shrapnel too and he will surrender to police in exchange for the girl.
It turns out the girl is now pregnant from an encounter in one of his attacks, and she is taken care of by the doctor while the revolutionist is executed. She dies in childbirth and the doctor adopts the baby girl, and asks the police to put the baby's parents' ashes together in a box. When the girl is older, he takes her to see the box and she opens it, and finds her dad's brain sharpnel inside.
The doctor watches his daughter smiling at a street parade with red galore all around and thinks "Seeing her smile, I understand her parents' passion now. They take joy in realising the ideals they believe in."

One will not be inclined to check this out because it sounds heavily political and potentially racist but damn, it was a pleasant surprise through and through.
It's a gem of a non-judgemental movie, where the story is told from an outsider pov but he doesn't whitesplain things that he has no business doing so, and despite the backdrop being that of a such chaotic and stressful time period, it focuses on the very human emotions even the revolutionists experience and the final result is utterly empathetic and charming. If this movie was made today everyone will be namecalling it propaganda and whatnot.

Star-crossed lovers

I'll keep this short and major spoiler free, a little word of advice I can give is that if you want to leave this drama with a happy ending, end at episode 35, if you would like to see a tragic ending, watch till the end
All in all this is a very well acted story with intresting twists and turns, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to rewatch it since its a little bit predictable. I heard they cut down the episode length of it, which makes sense considering how slighly weird the editing can be at points. I think that its initial premise is good, but it unfortunatley fails to fully deliver after the halfway point. That doesn't mean its bad perse, but that it falls victim to the typical issues that plauge many c-dramas, misunderstandings for misunderstandings sake. Even when the characters are intelligent and could just clearly ask, they just don't because the writers need to prolong the story somehow.
The chemistry between the leads is good and is worth the watch, but the story can hold it back at points. Thats why i'm rating the plot 7 and the rewatch value 5, because while its very well produced, i can't ever imagine someone going through this again.
I already knew that it wouldn't be a happy ending, but I wasn't expecting it to have such a non-ending as it did. Like really? thats how you're going to make use of the final moments of the show?

The replaced actors fell short

I love JOF very much and I am glad I waited long enough to watch the first season. This season started out a little slow and the vibe was off, but it picked up by episode 4.

I love Fan Xian, Old Wang and second prince. I like that I know the characters well enough to know what they can and can't do. Like I could tell the second prince was innocent of certain crimes, just cause I know he isn't that sloppy and obvious ?. The crown prince was a crazy in the first season so even though I am only on episode 7 and just found out he framed the second prince, I was not surprised cause I knew he was guilty and still evil the moment he told Fan Xian about the burned village.

As for the new actors, Ye Ling Er and Yan Bing Yun's characters are different not just as cast but their roles had particular personalities which do not translate well in this season. Yan Bing Yun was very robot like in season 1. He portrayed an injured man that was paranoid but very patriotic. He was emotionless and somewhat arrogant. This new Yan Bing Yun even flinched at his father yelling at him ?. Ye Ling Er isn't any different , she was brazen and tomboyish in the first season.

what happend to Lang Tao? The guy is acting friendly in this season. He was scary in season 1 and not talkative.

Overall the story itself is going well so I hope the ending won't disappoint.

Happy Pill

It’s hard to put perfectly into words just how amazing Lovely Runner is, but it is without a doubt, one of the best ones out there. Aside from the fiery chemistry of the leads. The storyline and narrative itself is just top notch. The way it could just make viewers like me feel so giddy in one second and fearful and stressed on the next is just perfect. I also loved how the ending unfolded. How it stressed that memories are etched in the heart. I just wish we had more time to uncover if and how is Grandma connected to the time traveling that’s happened. Speaking of Grandma, big kudos as well to the great family dynamics of this show. Within all the timelines all the family interactions where great. The love showcased within was truly heartwarming. Ahh~ would definitely rewatch this again.

Boring drama

I saw this drama go viral because people were talking about it a lot on social media. And I saw a scene of the supporting ML and FL (where she was captured) so I liked it thinking it was the actual ML and FL so I decided to watch it.
Usually when I find a new drama to watch I download the first 3-10 episodes to watch to see if I’d continue but with this I was so convinced it’ll be worth the watch and downloaded all episodes at a goal! I regretted it! I had to force myself to watch the whole drama since Ive wasted my data to download the whole show.
I must say I was utterly disappointed with this drama. Storyline was wack, the actors didn’t impress me.
I honestly wouldn’t recommend this to anyone to watch unless I dislike the person.

Must watch ! Cute, funny , sexy and healthy relationships/friendships

So cute especially the part where the 2 babies are like lets go on a trip. From determined to feeling a bit sad. From not gonna talk about their loves but feel the struggle haha

A very cute , loving , charming , respectful , sexy series and love both the dynamics ! Different but such good examples of healthy relationship

Love the part at the pool where payu and pai just looks at them from afar with pure love and adoration. Also how the 2 of them priortise sky and rain and just pampers them and gives in always hehe

Pai confusion and struggle was so real and funny hahah

Watch it yourself ! Must watch !! The angles, lighting, camera cinegraphics are all so well done

VERY DARK MOONLIGHT

Well the story was different from other series....it shown reality of the relationship. but the story feels confusing as their no proper subtitles and connecting parts ....somehow u feel there is no logic in story....i feel bad for pin jun after all he has done lot for hai qing he always there for him and at the end he has to give up but kind of good that he can be finally relax from toxic relationship. about yan fei ...we always want our main characters end up together so i was happy they end up but i m not statisfy with he end as he was never prorper try to find hai qing after knowing he didnt call him even he saw him swimming center he should have go after him but he goes to swimming and after knowing from the swimming teacher that someone is looking for him he should have done to find hai qing. then Hai qing what should i say he is totally messed up everything i understand he falls in love with first sight with yan fei but after one year you went with pin jun you should have known who is their with your ups and down who really loves you....

FOUND MYSELF HEALING THRU THIS DRAMA

These days living was so hard & disappointed in a lot of things. I need to escape, find a space where I can forget the reality for a while and imagine some dreamy future. Hehehe~ Luckily I found this drama.

I just finished all 16 episodes yesterday. I just wanna say~ GOOD JOB TO ALL CASTS, PDs & the WRITER. I totally enjoyed the drama. Started watching because of HyeYoon-nim, been her fans since running man (with her as the guest). Her bright real life character do affected me. I found myself act like her sometimes. hahaha..

The story was written perfectly. Let me present to you some of my favorite parts:

1. Im Sol's character - Quite different from other dramas. She is not in love with the ML at the beginning, it's just purely love as a fan who supported her bias idol. Just like other kpop idol fans who are unconditionally supporting their idols, wishing for their best and so on. In addition, she only accepted SunJae's love after quite some times. She's not just blindly in love with the handsome ML. And I was super in love with her funny, clumsy little girl character. HyeYoon indeed portrays Im Sol character the best. I can't even imagine others being Im Sol.

2. SunJae's character - I know that he falls in love with Im Sol at the first sight. But to stay loving someone for 15 years without confessing is another level of love. There's no second FL also a plus point. Otherwise, it would be annoying. I also love his loserism character. Dramas always portrays the ML as perfect man, but this time is different. He's charming in his own way. And he loves in Im Sol in all timeline.

3. Taesung's character - The greenest second ML ever. I was crying a few times because of him. He wished for Im Sol's happiness sincerely. And he indeed the reason why at the end SunJae & ImSol can be together. I don't mind when the writer did not elaborate on his backstory. I just want to see Taesung as it is. No need his tragic/sad back story. Present Taesung is the best as portrays.

4. In Hyuk - Our cupid friend!!! His unconditionally supporting SunJae to confess the love to Im Sol was so funny. He's being the best friend of SunJae was a good character written ever. Thankfully he can be the artist at the end, hahaha ~ how can writer wrote him as a singer with bad vocal. In real life, he is really good in singing, our N.flying leader-nim.

5. Im Geum & Hyun Joo - Although these characters seem comic and unserious, at some point there are some life lessons that I get from both of them. Im Geum seems quite clumsy, but as I realized he is a protective brother. Hyun Joo seems unserious all the time, but her character developed after married was good too. They both delivers some good advice to Im Sol's - "In order to gain something, also be ready to lose something too. - Im Geum" "It would be nice if I can change my fate but if it caused to not get seeing my children, then I hope my fate unchanged. - Hyun Joo". Love these two.

Whatever it is, I do enjoy the drama & happy while watching. Smiling, kicking my blanket like crazy~ oh my~ it's been a while since I last watching Kdramas. Seriously looking forward to their next project, especially HyeYoon-nim. Hwaiting!!!
