Great Cast, top notch acting, fast paced with some plot holes

THE GOOD
- Yoo Seung Ho delivered and so are his co actors. The show gave each of the three characters opportunity to shine . At times I even feel like yoo seung ho was outshined because his character was the most boring and naive one.
- Short and sweet. plot is simple and no unnecessary side stories
- If you can get past the plot holes and simply focus on the actors ever changing dynamic and emotions, then you will appreciate the value of this show.
- I love that this is a crime thriller drama that does not delve on the usual overused subjects. No accused main leads, prosecutor, profiler, cop etc. nothing about revenge or finding who killed who but simply about three young guys getting caught up into an unusual circumstance.

THE BAD
- just too many plot holes. I question the motivation behind the kidnapping as there is no strong back story to back up Jae hyo’s decision to go all the way.
- although this is supposed to be a change of image for yoo seung ho, his character was still too safe and stuck with this good guy roles. I can’t wait to see him grow and take on even more morally gray characters in the future.

Master calligraphy, you never know when you'll need to solve a supernatural mystery!

"Step aside, ordinary dramas, because this drama just crashed onto the scene like a comet. This show's got it all—coming-of-age charm, a sprinkle of fantasy, a dash of horror, some detective vibes, and a generous serving of family drama, all tied together with a quirky sense of humor.

Our main man, Pu Yiyong, goes from high school underachiever to supernatural superhero after a wild accident. And guess what? Now he can see invisible beings! Talk about upgrading your life skills.

What really steals the show? The trio – Yiyong, the reluctant hero, plus police officer Chen Chuying and med student Cao Guangyan. They're like the Avengers of solving mysteries, but with more laughs and fewer capes. The character development is on point, especially watching Yiyong go from high school troublemaker to supernatural Sherlock. And let's not forget the unexpected villainy of Derek Chang, who usually rocks the good-boy image. Plot twist!

What makes this drama a winner? It's not just about solving supernatural puzzles; it's about tackling real-life dilemmas, growing up, and proving that calligraphy skills are seriously underrated. Yiyong's character development is a rollercoaster of emotions, and Tseng Jinghua nails it with the right mix of confusion, frustration, and heartwarming compassion.

But it's not all serious business. Yiyong's mom and Guangyan's dad bring the hilarious vibes, turning the drama into a delightful rollercoaster ride. Life lessons sneak in too, reminding us to love ourselves, never give up, and avoid obsession—it's like a crash course in adulting with a side of the supernatural.

While the first two episodes might feel like a slow warm-up, trust me, it's the calm before the storm of emotional punches and plot twists. The finale is like the perfect bow on a gift—satisfying and leaving us wanting more (fingers crossed for a sequel).

In a nutshell, 'Pu Yiyong's Supernatural Cases' isn't just a drama; it's a binge-worthy, feel-good adventure. So, if you're in the mood for laughs, tears, and a quirky take on the supernatural, grab the popcorn and dive into this gem. You won't regret it!"

Nice drama

The plot revolves around the war god and a fairy born with demonic miasma.
Chang Chen as Jiu Chen really impressed me with his acting skills.Though not initially,in the latter episodes, his acting was excellent!
Ni Ni performed well in her role.
The scenes were well written.
Cinematography was very good.
CGI, costumes were good.
All the cast were apt.I felt the drama was executed smoothly without any unnecessary loopholes. Also,i liked how the different characters in the drama were connected to each other and how everything got into place after so many years.
A must watch costume drama.

Xing Fei couldnt save this one

This series never runss out of drama episode by episode. FL friend personality is laughable. FL mother personality is annoying. There were too many things happening in one day! I dont know why they made it with 40 ep when there was nothing to show anyway! I wonder if the scriptwriter willingly wrote this series with 40 ep in mind or if producers forced to make it 40 ep. You are not missing on anything if you decide not to watch this or if you decide to stop watching after few ep. I loved Xing Fei in Put Your Head on My Shoulders, im sad she accepted this material

A political military hilarious drama

This was my first time watching both Xu Kai and Bai Lu drama.
The story is set in Republican era of China showcasing both political and military tensions.
But the best part is the academy and fights between Gu yanzhen and Xie Xiang.
Xu Kai as Gu yanzhen acted very perfectly. He really made me laugh in some scenes.Gu yanzhen is very funny, teasing and humourous.
Bai Lu's acting as Xie Xiang is very good.
All the other cast outshined in their roles.
Overall it is a very good drama which make you laugh and ease your tensions.
I highly recommend this drama.

"Production house did justice to xukai "

Chemistry, acting ,ost ,visuals- perfect
Fight scenes - not that great ..
Plot- family feud,treason,love interest square
So to be frank it had everthing for a period drama,
If you ask me the main leads had too much Chemistry.. i haven't seen this much of a chemistry for a period drama in recent times. The opening and ending osts were great. Acting was great from both the leads , so being a drama were both the leads are capable on the field and of the field ?.. that was actually great... The chess game between the main leads were awesome..so overall its a quality drama with great chemistry and story line.. but not much of great fight scenes.. you know what i mean right.. it's surely better than his previous 3 dramas.. so go for it...

Nice costume drama

I watched this drama when it aired and also my first Ma tianyu and Angelababy drama. The story was fine.Ma tianyu acting was good
Angelababy also acted well. The costumes, production, locations,CGI were good. All the other actors were good and performed well.
The flow of the drama is also good.
You will not be disappointed after you watch this drama. We can watch it without any tensions on our mind.
If you are thinking to watch it,go for it without any hesitation though it has its own flaws.

A never ending struggle to the end and not just for them…

I'll apologise in advance, this isn't going to be my best review I simply can't find the enthusiasm to go into any depth.

I never thought it was going to finish. And by the time we did end up at the beach, I was less than interested and definitely not convinced. I felt like I’d been dragged kicking and screaming through a series of fragmented plot-lines, rushed developments and overused clichés. Amnesia once is unfortunate, twice is unforgivable and tbh I got to the point of hoping to be touched with it myself…

The actors battled hard against an ever loosening plot, but were unable to save it falling apart into a weird time-loop at the end. The costumes were very pretty and far too clean, and the cinematography was also pretty.

An attempt to be epic that simply became unmanageable.

A beautiful heartwarming drama

This drama was protrayed really well. There was many really heartwarming moments. From the friendship of the 5 of them to Guan Fang and his grandmother to Rang Rang n Lu Li. I also really like how they didn't just stop at university like many youth dramas. I was touched by many scenes and it was like each episode told a story by itself. They also shared the back stories of the 5 of them. What I really liked was the way the show portrayed 默默付出, it really touched me. I also need more of Gu Ran and Jiang Jia though, they were really cute. Overall, I really enjoyed this show and it only took me 2 days to complete it. It really warmed my heart as I watched them grow, I find I have grown a little as well through this show so I want to leave a review here. I really recommend it, it might not be the best but it is one of the best, especially under the youth genre. Thanks for reading if you did.

Humans are the most fearful beings.

Humans are the most fearful beings.

It's not easy to complete this series without feeling queasy, anxious and angry all at once.

It’s worth watching, but frankly speaking, is just overall, above average.

Its strong point is the tension built and maintained through misdirection and the manipulation of the twists, keeping the viewer guessing, uncertain about what's actually going on and where the story is headed.

The drama is often very slow and has an unnecessary, and overcomplicated (you need to rearrange the whole timeline on your own for a deeper understanding of the current events) storytelling.

However, the fun of this drama is not in figuring anything out, but in watching it unfold in its absolutely messy pacing; one of those white-knuckle, edge of your seat watch, where the story is broken up between the past and the present, as the time between those periods narrows, bringing them together.

Although its content is crawling with extremely twisted and bizarre insinuations, this story isn't the least bit graphic in what it reveals. It displays more mind-control and fear than anything else.

The sickening element is certainly present, but applied with a gentle hand and refrains from growing too dark or heavy.

It has a decent closure, but not the grand finale I, personally, expected it to have, specially considering the grand scheme of things.

I really enjoyed the series until the end, although it did have many flaws and plot holes, more so in the last episodes.

The music scores fit perfectly, and the acting was absolutely stellar.

well...

i was rly looking forward to this bc of all the leaks and bts but i was so disappointed... the last 6 eps were cute but not enough for me to forgive this mess. i only continued bc i like wang hedi and bai lu. honestly i would sue the production team and the director if i was them bc wtf is it with all the weird angles and the questionable script

the good: the ost is so good and catchy and whd and bl's chemistry is good + their visuals!!! and the second couple was so cute

this drama would've been a whole lot better if it was like 24~26 eps instead of 36 and if the third couple didn't exist like i'm sorry but i rly did not gaf about them ?

also i hate how you could literally see the 10 pounds of foundation on them and zsy's outfits were so disappointing and she (and her bff) was so annoying... shiyan and shiyue were the only likeable characters honestly

Good to watch

For EP 01
The toughest pressure in life is the expectations of those around us. Like a balloon that receives so heavy a load will eventually explode violently. "Humans influence each other. Sometimes it saddens, hurts each other, and even makes each other sick. But sometimes, the stones we throw to change ourselves make waves that reach out to others as well. Even small waves can scratch and injure us". Things we can learn from this episode.

For EP 02
Sometimes being ignorant is the best way to go through life. Without worrying, without fear, without having to feel inferior. "What we need is the courage to be hated. However, because we want to be loved and want to be recognized, we slice our soul with a knife, to make it beautiful in the eyes of others. That's why we always feel sick and unhappy."

For EP 03
The cinematography in episode 3 I think is good, the use of visual effects is good to depict the dramatization of the story and comedy scenes that are light and good.

Brace yourselves

This has to be one of the most heart breaking episodes. All his close friends and nanny GONE. And to face the fact that his brothers were not anything but garbage. This is what he wanted to avoid and escape far away from court palace. The loyalty of his friends to protect him and the way his brother was seeking his distruction, the rain and gray day, it all sums up to a very sad long scene. Great performances, a lot of sadness indeed.

Here we can see how the king is really just a clown. He is so darn scared, in the end he only cared about himself. Uncapable of being a good father for all his children, he now just shows what a big coward he is. Comming episodes will start closing this story, but this episode is truly sad among many other shows.
