OK drama

As a fervent enthusiast of the BL genre, I have had the pleasure of immersing myself in both renditions of this particular series. It is not surprising that certain individuals who have experienced the original version may harbour a sense of discontentment towards this alteration, the modifications implemented in this adaptation are far from inconspicuous, leaving no room for ambiguity in their impact.
The diverse range of preferences among BL fans regarding the desired level of sexual content is clearly apparent. The product provides a diverse range of options to suit various preferences, including both explicit and PG-rated choices. This ensures a comprehensive and satisfying experience for all users.
The Thai adaptation of the show brilliantly highlights the characters Tutor and Fighter, making them the heart and soul of the story. Upon careful comparison, it becomes clear that the Korean adaptation skillfully highlights Woo Sun Woo and Ko Yoo Kyeom as the central figures, even though they were initially portrayed as supporting characters. The Korean adaptation of this show does a great job of focusing on the character development of Jung Lee Won and Kim Ji Oh. These two characters are quite similar to Zon and Saifah from the Thai version, and they play important roles as secondary leads.
I still don't understand what kind of story is that as it mixed, I try to over look the mixing story line from the leads and the second leads as it is very noticeable, but it hard to ignore specifically if you are expecting similarity from the Thai version minus the explicit scene
I found both versions to be enjoyable, but ultimately my preference remains with the Original version.

Amazing drama, engaging plot and great characters

Characters are constantly evolving and circumstances that befall them are shown to have an organic impact on their worldviews. Both characters are written with clear flaws and shows convincing growth throughout the drama. The drama allows the two main leads to develop from enemies to friends to lovers, instead of prematurely planting in 'romantic' scenes right after they were forced together by a series of coincidences. The narrative is not afraid to truly challenge the characters, and it is rewarding to see them persevere even as the odds are stacked against them.

Side characters such as the Emperor and the main character's servant are also written to be realistic human beings instead of caricatures, and the narrative ensures that no character is left with just the bare minimum.

On the diversity front, the drama does well in showing a variety of female characters who excels in various traditionally masculine roles.

Plot is pretty enjoyable. Not sure whether it's really realistic on the historical front, but in my opinion there's no significant plot holes that destroys the viewing experience. Interpersonal conflicts are motivated by real differences in perspectives or unfortunate circumstances forcing people's hand, instead of people being idiots. The main villain is nothing too special but he's executed rather well.

I feel like the drama kind of stalls near the end. The main leads developed the habit of long conversations into the night, which gets boring quick but unfortunately contains vital information. Some of the development becomes...contrived. But it's not too bad, and by this time everything that's good about the drama has more than convinced me to watch to the end.

Once upon a (badly executed) crime

It's a good movie if you want to pass some time and have nothing better to do.

It starts out very slow and it picks up the pace around 30 min mark.

It's a classic Cinderella story with a twist, instead of a love story, we get a murder story and Red Hood is a detective.

When they were discussing who is the murderer at the ball, it was so funny. He is the murderer because of that. She is the murderer because of that. One solid evidence and you are done even if you didn't do it. And at the end, the King just let them all go home even though they didn't catch the murderer.

What's the point of the story? Well, the story relies on this one plot twist at the end to carry the whole story. It's a good plot twist but something was lacking. The ending felt incomplete. Cinderella was bullied her whole life and then when she trusted one person, it turned out to be a creepy dude. I'm not saying what she did is not wrong but it should have been wrapped up differently. There was no message at the end, just a plot twist.

Beauty is not everything? If they wanted that to be a message, they did a really bad job.

Bum, plot twist, be surprised. They did decent with that.

Overall, it has some fun and interesting moments and the costumes are pretty.

Total waste of time! NOT RECOMMENDED!!

This is literally the worst drama I have ever watched.

There is no plot, actors are trying hard to justify their characters without a proper storyline, they weren't even given proper dialogs and then edited with voices in their heads, if you watch without subs you would not understand who says what.

The Main character, their Love interest, and those side characters trying to go with the plot BUT they don't have any dialog.... they doing random things without logic and just doing it.

It is the cheapest budget Thai drama I have ever watched, It's a total waste of time!!

"Unconsciously, and even consciously, you're all I can think about"

When was the last time a drama made you smile like an idiot?
I can only speak for myself, but it's been a long time. Sure, there are many romantic dramas that I have watched and loved in the last few years but the last time I held a pillow while watching a TV Show was when I was still into CW shows. But somehow I found myself squeezing a pillow a couple times thinking "damn, this is soo good!" while watching 'Fake It Till You Make It'.

Even as a somewhat drama veteran (thanks to excessive binge watching) I counted several "Firsts" and unique dialogue in this drama. The writing of the two leads, as their relationship grows as well as their individual character writing, is exceptionally good and ultimately what makes me rate this drama so highly.

A quote from Neil Blumenthal says "Details matter. They create depth, and depth creates authenticity."
I would say this, aside from superb acting and chemistry, makes it stand out.
These days many romantic dramas leave out details left and right.
It's all about Girl meets Boy in an awkward way, they go back and forth for a bit, she trips, he catches her - boom! They are in love (ofc there have to be some slo-mo shots too). - In the world of romantic tv dramas I would even go as far as to say it's acceptable because it's so cleary fiction.
However with FITYMI you get the realism of not just falling in love but also the uncertainty, the feeling of "what are we?" and the many details that ultimately lead a pair to decide to start a relationship together. The flirting in this drama is creme de la creme (hence the giggling I mentioned earlier) but also the daring moves are very exciting. Taking one step forward, which often is enough to become gf/bf in dramas, can be just a flirt in reality and here it's just that sometimes. A kiss is just a kiss as they say.

A few more things I loved about the couple:
- truly intellectual dialogue
- joking with each other a lot, without it being a plot device
- everyday talk and actions, laying on the couch playing some Nintendo switch - just people being people (4 dimensional characters)
- friendship rings, phone calls, texting - all the goodness of flirting!
- best confessions scenes ever

A little detail (among many) that I want to highlight so you get the idea of what I mean when I say it's a very real drama.
The ML scratches off his address from his mail and packages before throwing them away. This is just a normal scene, no explanation added nor does it spark any dialogue. Just something he does, like so many of us. THIS! That's how you create tangible characters.
Especially considering that the drama only has 14 episodes it's amazing how they fit so many details in that episode count. Thankfully that also meant there was no dragging. Yes, it's a slowburn love story but not in the way you are probably used to. Slowburn as in, we're actually going from encounter, flirting, friendship, some more flirting to testing each other, becoming more comfortable, many deep talks and then relationship. And even then, being in a relationship isn't the goal nor is it ever a goal in general. That's when the real work begins because you grow as a person and as pair. A relationship where everyone stays the same, is one doomed for failure.

ANYWAYS, I definitely got carried away here.. I could talk about what I think every move of the characters meant for hours (hit me up if you want to do the same, lol).

(big spoiler alert)
Moving on from the main couple, there is also a storyline earlier on that I think could have been easily dismissed but I want to mention it because it has, again, some very important context details that many other dramas lack. Lin Xin Zi and Xu Jia Bai's relationship and especially how it ended. Big city life dramas often have at least one pairing with an obviously toxic relationship that is bound to end. A guy that is slowly but surely getting more and more controlling. At some point (in dramas) they start to get physically violent and or verbally abusive. Sadly, this often serves as a plot device for the ML to swoop in and save the girl from the hands of her violent ex. Case closed. But is that what happens in reality? Rarely. Unfortunately being in a controlling relationship that start with things like, asking where you went (in a normal tone), to asking you not to wear revealing clothing is far more common. When the relationship ended, it was really heartbreaking because it was so obvious an unhealthy relationship, but on both sides. Someone that is deeply insecure and has a psychological problem needs treatment, not shaming and I liked that he was not painted as this "monster" but rather as someone with a problem, while still being responsible for his actions. That scene on the bridge was probably my favorite non-lead moment of the drama.
I wish other dramas could take a slice of this and at least stop portraying unhealthy relationships in one way only because the audience almost gets trained into black and white thinking. Either someone is good or bad, either they ship someone or not. Red Flag or Green Flag. Is that really how life works? I don't think so. We all have flaws, we learn to grow, we change, we mess up but we also take responsibility when it comes down it.

Now for the last part of this review / love letter, the more uncomfortable part. No drama is without flaw and although I want to state that the short comings of this drama did not negatively affect the main story of the leads, I still have to admit that it's not flawless. The business talk in the first half was somewhat too much for me, yes it was needed in a way and I liked the general writing too but it was just too much in my opinion.
The director, Li Mo, is also behind another MangoTV hit called "Remembrance of Past Things" and I can definitely see the similarities in realism, intellect and storytelling. But like with ROPT I wish he would focus a little less on the business side. I am patiently waiting for a drama of his, that is focused only on human connection and interpersonal relationships because I believe that would have massive potential. In case you have seen the 2021 Korean Drama "Lost", I believe he and the scriptwriters he works with could pull off something in that direction.

All in all this drama is just so FLIRTY and so good! And I loved every single bit of it! ... I was supposed to be on drama break while it was airing but I could not help but to sneak each episode in my full schedule and it was just like candy!
I also want to note that I left many things out my review (aka glorified long comment) but I decided to just focus on a few details :)

I will leave you with some quotes from the drama:

"Having you by my side is like having candy in my mouth.
No matter how bitter life gets, it always tastes sweet."

"if you can't solve something with a kiss,
try with more kisses."

"Tang Ying, you're not looking for someone out of your league,
You're waiting for a worthy rival."

"I've met many people in this city and they eventually taught me that
the word is big, too big to imagine, so walk your own path,
not according to the script.
Throw away the script and struggle to find your own life.
It's okay to fail, it's okay to take the wrong road.
Life freely.
Isn't that the most stylish thing?"

Skip it till they make it.. or just watch the main couple

To little good to make up for the bad but oh what a romance... as this is another one of those dramas that is just so hard to rate as it offers some of dramalands greatest pebbles of romance while boring the viewers by giving away the couples screen time to boring workplace plots...

9⭐️ for it's main couple who have great chemistry, fun interactions that balance the line of depth and playfulness. Watching these two flirt is a pleasure for the eye and soul. Watching them communicate and use underlining meanings is pure magic and joy... They are human, they are fun, they have issues and we the viewers get to watch them grow and so on.

7⭐️ For to the friendships, and the way they show issues with other men, offering us some good and important lessons but then ruining them by not really seeing them through and making them fall flat. No to mention how gold diggers are portrayed and the whole conversation there it feels like they wanted to say something progressive but ended up making a mess and shaming a bunch of women...

4 ⭐️ For the workplace whatever plots, not very interesting and wasting my time... between the parts that I actually did want to watch.

So what can I say watch it for the romance but feel free to skip all the stuff in between it really just takes up space and is a waist of time.

A Journey to be Remembered

From the beginning, this drama is different. The storyline is like a labyrinth. It takes you down the winding paths of scheming and deceit, and keeps you guessing at every turn if reality meets appearance. As the viewer, you sometimes wish you were perched up high upon the maze, so you can figure out the fate of those lost within it, yet you are made to walk alongside the characters until they reach the exit.

The dark hues of the lens, the riveting storyline, the elaborate costumes, the perfectly matched music and the daily dose of cliffhanger brings together a story that may not be perfectly executed, but is close enough.

The characters in this drama are multifaceted and the cast who play both the main and supporting roles all skilfully portray their respective parts with depth.

With much gratitude to the director, cast and staff for bringing its viewers on a very memorable journey.

Delightfully Sweet Romance Drama

Exclusive Fairytale is a sweet and delight romance drama- I wouldn’t say it’s a rom-com per se. It’s a genuine portrayal of friendship, love and relationships. The main leads deliver outstanding performances, love both the characters- bringing their chemistry to life on the screen.

Thankfully the drama didn’t have any unnecessary villains or melodramatic twists. Instead, it focuses on the pure essence of a sweet romance. It’s shows the journey from young-mature love..once they got together there were steamy kisses the last few episodes … it’s lovely to see the couple staying committed without any needless misunderstandings or breakups.

Excellent on-screen chemistry between the main leads &
if you're in the mood for a feel-good romance that will leave you with a smile, and into soft, sweet and cuddly romances this is for you.

a great romance, but i was expecting more

I confess that I waited a long time - really a long time - for a Portuguese subtitle for this cdrama, especially because I love the two main actors. When it finally came out complete and fully subtitled, I was full of expectations.

What I have to say is that "Exploration Method Of love" was everything I expected, and at the same time, it wasn't.

I expected a fun mess, and obviously, I got that, but I also got a more mature, adult relationship.

I was expecting a more adult romance, and yes, there was that, but at the same time I felt like they cut A LOT of things. This thing about China removing kiss scenes - which, btw, is fcking annoying - already happened with the drama that the same ML actor, Gao Han Yu, acted in, "Dine With Love", which had GREAT Kiss Scenes cut out. This ends up discouraging me a little, I confess. It becomes frustrating, especially when it comes to romance dramas with characters in their almost 30s. Makes no sense to me.

Anyway

Well, the drama has this more realistic aspect of a romantic relationship; without annoying SL or FL and without annoying and controlling families trying to control everything, but, from another perspective, the series starts to get a little stuck and gets a little lost in the sameness: we have this cycle of the female protagonist being a little too stubborn in owning your feelings, and this happens over and over again.

In my opinion, it's a reasonable cdrama that I expected - a little - more kissing scenes and a better development at the end. The ending was REALLY pretty weak.

A couple more episodes to close with a flourish would be more interesting.

Other than that, I would recommend it, despite the negative points; especially due to the super healthy relationship and the wonderful female lead.

PS; very good chemistry between the actors

Cute and sweetest drama ever

I really recommend everyone to watch this cute drama of 2 couples I enjoyed from beginning till end I understand we have very short duration may be that is why we couldn’t able to see more scenes and slow version of developing feelings but I think for main couple I could Abel to see starts from fighting then friendship then confused feelings finally they were together I think that was great script for them I enjoyed watching their story as for other couple it was cute but unfortunately a kind of silent relationship was between them kinda boring but last episode was good between them I’m not sure when they started to fell for each other it doesn’t even make sense too anyway I hope atleast we get some special episodes of this couple but I can’t give less ratings just because of this reason because I was fond of other couple already anyway hope to see them together again

it was a bit too short :(

The general concept is one that's really intriguing, but the run time per episode was just too short to really develop a nice plot with more facets to it. The characters lacked personality and really only existed to serve the plot. There wasn't much development in terms of getting to know the characters so they appeared very flat and boring. The first five episodes I had wondered if they forgot to put the comedy tag because the whole scenario and lack of explanation as well as the characters' demeanors with each other had me laughing my ass off. The last couple of episodes I did feel moved when Yudam remembered what happened in the past (loved the historical garb! they were so pretty <3) and then watched the love of his life die before his eyes again by the same person. But, other than that, there weren't very many high points to the show. Like others, I'm hopeful that there will be another season so that maybe they can be fleshed out a bit more, but I highly doubt there will be. It seems like that kind of show that's supposed to be left open-ended.

This one should be watch! I tried watching this just yesterday when I saw it in WeTV. I was really hooked since the beginning. It’s really worth watching. Not only did I like the ML but I’m liking the FL too. She’s really good at acting! You’ll be really touched. No doubt about that. I also like the way they dressed up and the production. You guys should try watching this. From the beginning till the end. Thumbs up to the TV Series and Actors/Actresses and the Director of course! ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍

Chemistry of the main leads

I kind of agree, I wish they didnt make it till 30 episode it could have ended about 25-26. Although I do like the lengthy romance. One thing to note is that the script can be better and the transitions after episode 15 or 16. Otherwise these 2 have a great chemistry. I really enjoy them together. I wish they would be in another drama again together! They both have so much potential to be popular in china and across the world :) Zhour Yiran is getting each and every drama he is getting. He deserve more praise.

Ep 1-8 was really good but the rest was mehh ?

I really like this drama, it's really fun and simple, but after episodes 9-10 for some reason I felt bored and when I watched it I got sleepy because I was bored, even though I forced myself to watch it. , but the exciting sensation is in episodes 1-8, I think the drama becomes boring. I feel that some of the characters are too forced to act and I don't know why it feels like something is missing after episodes 9-10, it's a bit disappointing even though I expected more because episodes 1-8 I think this drama is very good and I watched it with enjoyment but after episode 9 it feels empty and I feel bored.
