Bad portrayed of Asperger behavior. The director did a lousy job in this drama. Grrr......

Fantastic Doctor is a medical drama focused on an Asperger's genius doctor. It is based on a Kdrama and American drama called "The Good Doctor," with Zhang Wan Yi and Jiang Pei Yao.

I am disappointed in this drama because the director, Lu Chuan, did not do justice to it. Zhang Wan Yi is a good actor, but the way he portrayed the Asperger's doctor was wrong in so many ways.

Asperger's has social anxiety and does not like affection. Still, in this drama, too many people hug him, and he does not react to it. Secondly, he came across as stupid with his facial demeanor instead of someone who was a genius.

The director and Zhang Wan Yi need to watch "The Good Doctor" and see how the actor portrayed the character or watch "Extraordinary Attorney Woo." to see how these two actors portray Asperger's.

The drama's title is "Fantastic Doctors," which is plural of multiple doctors and does not really focus on the genius doctor.

It is very frustrating to watch this drama, and the way Zhang Wan Yi portrayed this character was so bad. I don't think it is the actor's fault. I blame the director for doing a lousy job.

I gave it a 6.0 rating because the drama did not do justice to the Asperger community. I have a nephew who is Asperger, and he does not behave like what was portrayed in the drama.

Simple, Sweet, Excellent

What a calming watch this little show was.
The story is entirely driven by the complex inner lives of its main characters, two utterly ordinary people in more or less entirely ordinary circumstances, which are explored with such skill and deftness it renders the need for any outside conflict to their relationship entirely obsolete. It's a character-driven drama par excellence masquerading as a simple rom-com and for that alone I'd consider it worth watching.
Add to that the fact that the story and characters are absolutely delightful and deeply endearing, the editing and themes are cohesive and perfectly underscore the plot (the little dating sim-style vignettes of their time in high school in particular are brilliant), the performances are stellar, and the music is fantastic and has been stuck in my head since I first watched the show, well you essentially end up with a must-watch show, in my opinion.
It's a realistic, low-stakes drama with boundless charm and a great appreciation and understanding for love as a transformative force in all of human existence which very much resonated with me.
"Happy endings aren't guaranteed and might not even exist in real life", it says. "But choosing love every time? That's real. That's worthwhile."
And honestly, it couldn't be more right about that.

right dose of humor and mystery!

Hotel Del Luna is an incredible drama and has everything a good drama needs to have!

Starting with the story, which is extremely complex and full of layers, especially the protagonist's story, highlighting the way the story unfolds, the variations between past and present are incredible and leave us wanting more.

The performances are great and all the characters seem to have enough time to develop their stories, but the one that stands out the most for me is IU's performance, maybe it could be because this was the first time I saw her acting but her performance It was incredible and surprised me, it certainly deserved the starring role.

Therefore, Hotel Del Luna is a great drama to recommend, the doses of humor and mystery work great together.
It definitely made my list of best dramas!!

Interesting!

Bad buddy is one of the few universe bl series that has kept me hooked up form the first episode to the last one. It is not exactly like the novel but interesting in its own way! In the novel there where more nc parts but as always gmmtv tries to make series more child friendly. Well after "only friends" we can say that gmmtv used to do that. If some other company had the chance to remake this i am sure it will be better but until that i love bad buddy and will re-watch it any chance i get......
(Sorry for my bad English grammar)

Amazing!

The story ended on a very high note. The characters were well developed and the story made perfect sense. I just wish they had more episodes to flesh out more some of the side stories and characters in this great drama. If you want to watch a drama that doesn't insult your intelligence with stupid plots or characters, this is as good as it gets.

Jang Dong Gun (Tagon) and Kim Ok-Bin (Taealha) were simply amazing! Their charisma and acting were just incredible. Lee Joon Gi (Eunseom/Saya) was very good here too. He more than held his own as a replacement for Song Joong-ki. LJG and SJK were both good in these roles. Shin Sae Kyeong (Tanya) was not as good as Kim Ji-Won from the first season, whom she replaced for the role, but she was good enough and did a decent job. All in all the acting ranged from amazing to decent/good, and was definitely a big plus (+) for the show.

The writers of the Arthdal Chronicles are my favorite drama writers, and this is so whether it involves Korean dramas, Chinese dramas, or American dramas. And I have watched a lot of each set. These writers once again did not disappoint, and proved once again that they are among the best drama writers in the world, if not the best.

The director did a very good job too, even though he has not done much directing before.

So for those who have not seen either season of the Arthdal Chronicles, I highly recommend you watch both of them. Rarely will you find a drama season as good or better than them. If you have already seen the first season, don't wait and go see the second season ASAP. It will be time well spent!

This wonderful drama suffers from poor writing and poor chemistry

I wanted to love this drama so much. I do love major parts of it. The historical part of this story is fantastic. The slow burn, the looks, the evil dad, it's beautifully done. Kim Dae Young is a standout in this drama. He has such range. I don't know whether it was his choice or the director's choice to talk so slowly when he's Do Ha, but that choice aside, I loved him in this drama and I hope he gets a chance for another lead.

Pyo Ye Jin is a fantastic actress, but her character is so poorly written. She's so inconsistency written and made stupid or weak as a plot device, and that really bothers me. But also, I've seen Kim Dae Young in Sh**ting Stars, so I know he can have great chemistry with his leads, and kiss well. This drama's slow burn was amazing from his end, but I didn't quite believe Ye Jin's modern character. Also, the kiss scenes gave me major ick.

Honestly, it's a brilliant story, but I blame the directors and writers and editors for mangling it. There was no need for it to be so incredibly complicated, or for the multiple jumps back and forth. I think this would have done well as an 8 episode drama, with a tighter script it might have been better.

But I just loved the actual story and plot hidden underneath it all, and if you can manage it (I did by fast forwarding where they were just rehashing the same thing over and over again), there's a really great drama somewhere underneath the garbage piled on by the directors.

Fun to binge

Having never watched the anime, I went into this purely based off the trailer which caught my attention. This was simple to watch and had a lot of action packed into each episode. You can definitely see how they packed as much as they could, and each episode felt like a mini movie.
The stylistic choice of this show made this a fun weekend watch for me, and while I'm disappointed we only got 5 episodes, it has left it open to now see the friendships develop. Based on an anime, I know they'll have plenty of source material to take from, and I hope it gets renewed.

Time travel to a universe where you become the step mom

First of all i really like the actress. This is a mini drama with 24 episode that is around 10 mins each . Female lead is an actress and while she is reading her script in the bus she gets transported to another time because of a supermoon. She ends up being the step mom of the Li family. She has three step children, the oldest is a boy and two girls. She is the sole provider for the three kids and they learn to trust each other. The female lead is faced with annoying and scheming relatives trying to take advantage of the female lead and the three kids. The female lead is a bad ass because she was an martial artist actress. She stands up and defends her. and her children .No matter what the evil relatives do they dont prevail. I like that it brings comedy and humor.

There isnt much romance so dont expect it, but that is not the focus of the drama.

Recommend this drama :) give it a try

woof, that was ruff

Such a hard drama to watch. The last episode just came out, and man did I struggle to get here. The writing is shit, the acting is way overdone, the characters are terrible, why am I even here? ..honestly it's because I couldn't pass up a series with TutorYim as the MLs-- those poor babies-- boy did they do them dirty with this show.

Starting with the basics, nothing really wrong with the story except for the fact that there isn't much of one, just a sweet office romance between a mentor and intern, cute right? Not so much, the story itself is fine but has weird unnecessary drama points that don't make sense, creating drama just for the sake of it, which honestly is nothing new to Thai dramas in general. Except for the fact that the cute characters that are supposed to make the show are just trash.

These poor poor actors, after watching this group in Bed Friends and Cutie Pie, you know the extent of their acting skills, and you cast them in this??? This is a slapstick comedy, overexaggerated reactions, with dull shallow characters, and no redeeming story to save it. Jade (Yim) is a super weird and awkward character, and no not in a cute loveable way but in a wtf is wrong with your face way, on top of that he's insecure to a fault. His overdramatic reactions are even more emphasized with the slow motion scenes and awkward sound effects, seriously who wrote this? In comes our boy Mai (Tutor) who's this gorgeous little thing and he basically puppy dog follows Jade around and adores him to death. He has zero flaws and confidently pursues Jade who literally can't stop making trouble for himself and those around him. It's like a mess of a princess saved by the heroic prince, but even the prince is a shallow characters with zero depth, and as adorable as both of these actors are in real life and other shows, this one was almost impossible to enjoy. There were some scenes that were cute of course, but the amount of trash you have to dig through to get there.... not worth it at all.

Good lord why in the world would I keep watching this??? Only because I think Tutor & Yim are adorable and I can't help myself, but if you haven't watched the show, I'd say just look up a cute moments fanmade video and skip all the ridiculousness. If you're obsessed with TutorYim, then you might be able to push through otherwise, just skip to the next one. Feel free to find recs in my other reviews!

must a show be good? is it not enough to get silly with it?

To be totally honest, I watched Ai Long Nhai with a 102+ COVID fever and I think it rewired my brain chemistry. So while My Dear Gangster Oppa is certainly not a masterpiece of a show, I had a really fun time watching. It's silly, goofy, campy, and tropey, with not a lot of substance underneath. It probably didn't need to be as long as it was and Certainly should have spent some more budget on the sfx wounds. But it did make me laugh and smile, and I genuinely looked forward to watching each week. It's a pretty big step up from ALN all around, and I look forward to see what these guys work on next.

Head-scratcher as Japan is full of great writing - not this one

It's not feel-good, it's not cute, it's not sad, funny, mysterious, exciting, it doesn't even intend to anger although it ends up doing that. There is a toxic story that is clear on its intention, and then there is this that is lukewarm on every aspect. Just what is the purpose? It portrays yet another weak female who gets taken advantage of because she lacks opinions, and in the beginning she's encouraged to take a stand for herself only for that to later be used as the attractive point (no opinion, doesn't stand up for something = goes with anything = a guy's fantasy). With that you have the male who does with her whatever he wants from touching to kissing, while the female recoils, unsure, and most of all, he made her feel that his affection didn't belong to her. He made her a bigger liar than she already was. Did she enjoy? Yes, with pain and disgust. Did he enjoy? Yes, without realizing what he put her through, and without her realizing what he put her though.

Liars are given an easy pass. They get an ending that I don't think we need more of in fiction.

Toxic badass FL, Doormat ML ..

At the beginning I was so happy finally The FL has a Self_esteem, Dignity, freestyle
- I'm tired of Stupid, weak and Humiliated Girls who lose her mind, insults herself with Embarrassing acts for crush And love in C-Dramas ..
but Unfortunately, Good things never Complete ..The ML is a Doormat, keep insulting himself for Her. fr !!!!

I think Chinese Writers have some issues, I piss off of Thier writing, Either they create an Arrogant ML insults the stupid FL OR a toxic badass FL insults the dump ML . They have to know what DIGNITY and Healthy relationship means.
I bet no one of those writers were in a relationship Before that's why they don't know HOW to write a Light and creative Love story

I really can't handle FL , she keep hanging out with her Ex then blame ML for literally NOTHING and made him apologize !!!!!!!

FL take advantage of all Males around her (Her boyfriend, Ex , Firefighters.....etc) for her Damn store ..

I like ML's friend he's so cute and funny.. the decorations in drama are amazing as well , FL outfits are chef kiss .. this is the only things I like

for me I didn't see any romance scene made.me flutter or something ..
- let's see EP 14, hope it will get better but I don't think so

Casually good for a historical BL but felt bored from the lengthy episode

Not a big fan of time travel as the root cause of everything in a drama but seeing a historical Thai BL for the first time ticked my interest. Especially when a beautiful couple of handsome guys play the main characters. They have the right amount of chemistry and they did a pretty job of portraying their roles.

The overall distribution of the whole drama package was just a neutral rating for me. Yet, they created a memorable scene wherein they drive their uniqueness in flourishing the olive oil massage scene with matching orchestra music in the background. It gives a sensational and erotic feeling towards the time traveler guy.

With all these, I am happy to see them end up together in the present time. But with the special clip shown during the credit roll, maybe a second season is possible which will be going to focus on the more distant past and letting the audience witness once again, another historical love story from the two. Yet, I am not sure if I will watch it or not because honestly, I hate feeling so bored watching a specific show, which I felt during the airing period of this drama.
