not as bad as i expected but still disappointing

Assuming that this story is being told by some drunk university students (as seen in the very first scene) then this series may make some sense. The pacing was questionable to say the least and the scenario was very weak. Rak had no personality whatsoever and Dino was possessive even of the air that Rak was breathing. Chalam and his omelet were the only redeeming qualities in this whole show. Unfortunately for them, kissing scenes could not fill neither the script nor the plot holes. All in all, it was bad but I'm pretty sure I have seen worse.

back to the future in korea

everything is in the title, really. I loved back to the future, and I loved this remake. of course, so many things are different because it's in Korea, but there are a lot of similarities in the main lines. this being said, the last episode was rushed and it felt lacking. that was frustrating because all the drama is so well done it's a shame they didn't CODA it (wrap it beautifully). but it's a wonderful drama, just dive in!

when to watch? when you need some comfort story.
audience; anyone, it's a family friendly story.
have fun!

Decent story but something is off

The story was actually pretty decent, slightly different than most and with interesting twists. The casting was great but I guess there was just something with the pacing, chemistry, cinematography and something that I just can my put my fingre on that did not really get. me emotionally involved or interested in the plot...

I understand that that may sound like I am contradicting myself, but truth be told something here was off... which kept me from fully enjoying this show, though i liked the story including the ending. Maybe something a higher budget could cure, maybe more screen time to fully explore the twists or maybe it just wasn't as good as a story as my mind wants it to be.

Just another J-drama romanticizing cheating.

FL - 7 relationships in 25 years of age, multiple partners cheated on her doing two timing and making the other women pregnant. She's truly a great judge of character!! But it's not a surprise from her being so eager to get into relationships.

ML - scapegoat of writer

Unmarried friend of FL - an Idiot who will choose a Fu*k boy over a nice man just for the looks, the F boy sleeps with a married woman and makes her pregnant, the married woman is the senior friend of FL and this unmarried friend of FL

Married friend of FL - married woman who is adamant to have an affair with a F boy, gets pregnant then the F boy shows true color, pretends as if he wants her happiness and that's why want to leave her. She goes back to her husband proclaiming that her husband is the one for her to the viewers.

The F boy friend of ML - enough said already

The descent friend of ML - the only person who is saved from all these horrible women by the writer.

This writer and director should be banned from making any dramas or movies TBVH. It's a crime to show this crap on TV.

Just watch the original

This is a remake of the original that had the legendary Julian Cheung, Steven Ma, Charmaine Sheh and Nancy Sit. Here we have… yeah…

The remake sucks. This is the short version of the review. The best thing about the drama is the music, but this is only because it is a cover of the original song, sang by Hubert Wu. There is also a cover version where Hubert sang the cover with his co-stars Regina Ho and Joey Law, and let’s just say you should stick with the Hubert only version because those two cannot sing. Hot dang they cannot sing.

The story almost follows the original beat for beat except that it is based in Hong Kong and has a variety of changes to keep things “fresh”, but honestly it is terrible. Hubert does well as the mute Man Cho and Mai Suet was great as Sa Kiu, but holy crap what were the casting crew doing putting Regina Ho as Kwan Ho and Joey Law as Sito Lai Sun? They are just awful! Especially Joey Law, that guy has one expression that he uses in every role he has been in and it gets real old real fast. It is like watching a wooden board flopping in the wind every time he was onscreen; I’ve seen more emotion coming from a pomelo than from him.

I found Charmaine’s Kwan Ho annoying in the original series and put up with it because it was offset with the always charming Julian Cheung, but here Regina’s Kwan Ho was just goddamn unbearable. She was better outfitted than the original character for sure, but her high pitch whiney voice and acting just got on my nerves. She made Charmaine’s Kwan Ho look like a Goddess.

Some of the changes were things I wanted in the original like Kwan Ho not being with Sito Lai Sun and instead staying and being with Man Cho, but one of the changes was a massive sin against the original and I will never rewatch this drama again because of it. Man Cho manages to regain his ability to speak in the original, and he does so here as well with Hubert speaking about 2/3 the way through, but while the original kept his ability to speak, the remake decided to give Man Cho sudden throat cancer - wtf - so he had to go mute again. They did Man Cho real dirty here and I found it inexcusable. I think the TVB writers were trying to balance the “you get Kwan Ho but you must lose your voice” but I think that’s bullshit. Man Cho already had a tragic back story, he didn’t need that extra blow. No, this remake can get stuffed

Minus.

I'm not even going to compare this to the OG, because I refuse to count this as anything remotely connected to Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Strong Girl Namsoon is in a league of its own. One of the worst dramas I've seen.

I wanted to drop it post ep4, but damn, Ryu Shi Oh is one fine character who has me captivated; 10/10 for that role? Maybe because he was the only one with some story going for him. 0/10 for everything else happening in this show hence, I've come to a generous 1/10.

The story and acting deserves a MINUS. The amount of rubbish they've stuffed into this show is mind boggling.
Could have been a 4-6 episode mini series and called it a day, because everything else was just fillers.

Absolutely nothing worked about this show apart from the Bong-bong Min-min cameo ❤️ and Ryu Shi Oh's character because at least he had a backstory going for him.

Definitely a wonderful drama with a solid mixture of myths and legends.

The Legend tells the story of King Gwanggaeto the Great of Goguryeo, one of the Three Kingdoms of ancient Korea. It explores his life and reign, including military conquests; his relationships with the people around him; and the efforts to unify the Three Kingdoms and establish Goguryeo.

The plot, narration, and acting keep the viewer engrossed throughout the series and the visuals are spectacular and dreamy. Definitely a wonderful drama with a solid mixture of myths and legends—it’s nothing less than outstanding.

The OST is equally gorgeous with a music score by the genius Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi, who wrote many film scores for mighty animator Hayao Miyazaki.

The Legend remains one of my all-time favourites, a must-watch.

Perfect Drama

I watched a very good, high-quality series. Apart from simple mistakes, I watched an excellent series, without any errors or obstacles, everything was in its place. It's a particularly good story, well-constructed and excellently directed. I found little fault with the management. That may also be due to the player. For example; Elisa Ye failed to die. How bad was that? She was already good at playing the bad woman. It must be from there. Fang Yin's death scene affected me the most, perhaps because it was in the last episodes. Actress Melody Tang seems to have been specially chosen for this role. I really saw him as the personality that best suited his role. Such a pure and clean face, the way he played a game accordingly, his performance in the scene where he died impressed me a lot. Here, Melody Tang's and later Bai Lu's games were very effective. I also congratulate the director. I actually cried in this scene. It was a very, very extraordinary scene. The series was completely impressive and gripping. It was perhaps one of the best TV series of recent times. As I said, the story is solid, the editing is very well done, a good director and excellent actors, except for a few people. I liked Bai Lu very much. He's already a player I like. Zhang Ling He is one of the star actors of recent times that I like. Although Wang Xing Yue is young, he is rising rapidly. Zhou Jun Wei appeared little but played effectively. He was also successful in active scenes. It got into my eye. I found it good. I can't help but mention that I liked the veteran actors Huang Hai Bing, Liu Min, Zong Feng Yan. They are very good players. Congratulations. I also liked Wang Zi Teng in this role.
I recommend the series to everyone. You have to watch. You will be sorry if you don't watch it.

Nice series, with a catchy start, but then gets bogged down

PLOT: The FL, daughter of a rich fabric merchant, takes in the ML, a seriously injured and amnesiac prince. The FL's family is devastated by a competitor's plot and FL, the only survivor, joins an embroidery academy. She will then return to the capital, to clear her family's name and rebuild the Xie brand, with the help of the Prince.

PROS:
+ I like the ML (Bi Wen Jun) but I'm not a fan of the inexpressive FL. There are a lot of kisses but the chemistry is not really there.
+ The story is well constructed, quite coherent.
+ The production is dynamic.
+ There are many endearing characters

BUT:
- The coincidendes are much too obvious (the ML, amnesiac, becomes a child with 5 year old behavior? Seriously?)
- the childishness of the FL's character, annoys me until the assassination of her family (ep. 3 or 4?). Her stubbornness to expand the business before getting married is a bit excessive, and the ML's self-sacrifice borders on the ridiculous.
- The character of Mr. Gao is caricatural.
- AND ABOVE ALL, from episode 30 onwards, the pace slows down, the story gets bogged down and I only managed to finish the drama with my friend "the FF button"... The same tricks , the same behaviors, ... it's getting boring!!

=> Historical and romantic series, pleasant, but which will not be remembered.
**********************************************************************

REWATCH WORTHY!!

Where do I start? Okay, let’s start with the casting. Ohm especially is one of my favorite BL actors for his genuine personality and the chemistry between the two main leads is astonishing! They’re so personable, sweet and the slow burn but chase for each other is heart warming. The rooftop kiss tho….
This is a must watch!

The story line did not drag much and the “back and forth” was not annoying or overly played. It was tastefully done and you’re rooting for them through the entire time!

Justice for 2ML

It's not a bad bl, I'll give it that. It is pretty okay for 2021 idol drama when the bar was too low and the bl industry in korea was in it's infancy. Watching it in late 2023 is, well, boring.

The story is simple enough - a new guy moves into a full house and 2 friends fall for him but he likes only one of them. The love triangle was handled really well. At one point I was straight up hoping for a 3P..... I mean, if the contemporary Tinted With You could do it (Still waiting for S2 where they make it official). But I guess, I am not heartbroken over the main cp.

And that's it. While I didn't hate anything, there's also nothing much to write home about. The acting was bad, but it didn't affect me much. I guess was expecting something from 2 waiters but there was nothing. 2ML has his own love interest in the webtoon but that, thankfully, didn't happen here. We didn't really have time to explore a whole new CP in 15x8 format

?...

Be careful while watching this, it contains sex scenes so you might want to be alone and wear earphones while , which I expected, but some of them where SO OVER THE PLACE. That is not wrong, and i didn't get into the story enough because I only watched 1 episode and a half of episode 2.

i need the 500 so rest is spaces

WHAT WAS THAT ENDING???

The show is not as good as it could have been. However, I will say that each episode at least, builds off the next and it's a coherent story. Episode 6 is by far the best episode in the series and could have ended there IMO. But NO!! we have to deal with these 11th hour shenanigans of who actually did what. PISH TOSH!!

I must be the only one annoyed by the the treacle ending. Eveyone lives happliy ever after; I call BS. I am also pissed that Makiko did not get the comeuppance I wanted or needed. They tried to make Makiko sympathetic too. NO!!! Anyway, not terrble but a total let down.

The pluses of the series are the lead actresses are really good and I loved the young actress playing Anzu. I also, like the Claire character; she was a good friend.

I LOVE EVERYTHING!

At first, I was nervous, but wow, everyone delivered! The production, no doubt, was top-notch! The storyline is incredibly interesting, and the acting – OMG! Even the restaurant auntie can act! I knew Billy would deliver, but Babe, Tack and Poom, is this really their first time acting??!! There's no way!!! The visual effects are on point!!! The OST is incredible! P'Tachaya is the best, and the ending song by BillyBabe is beautiful ❤️ It's so captivating; I didn't think it was over! ?❤️
