GREAT CHEMISTRY

The chemistry is good

Gong Jung is really handsome, Yutong is also beautiful...
I hope they both play in the drama again together, very slick and the acting of the two leads is also good, the intimacy looks natural, the scenes that delulu from each other's minds are also very funny.

although there are some story spots that could have been better, but at least they explain why this and that, so it's not too confusing ...

It's a sweet and funny love story... worth watching.
For sure we will be showered by Gong Jun's extraordinary handsomeness.

selling artificial sugar

the writing of this drama is so so bad.... Obviously it's only relying on selling romantic slow motion scenes between main couple. Story wise, it's just a mess, unnecessarily drag the storyline just to make the drama longer, characters written so inconsistent. Financial journalist, acting so clueless and made very stupid choices all through the episodes. FL and her friends were all like high schoolers with googly eyes trying too hard to act as an adult. Why can't writers just write a normal independent modern woman that knows what they want and mature enough to make their own choices. Not gonna continue to waste my time on this...

Actually One of the Best Things I Watched This Year

I’M NOT EXAGGERATING WHEN I SAY I CRIED LIKE 12 TIMES DURING THE LAST EPISODE

Ok but fr, this show was actually so amazing and I’ve recommended it to almost everyone I know. There really is nothing I would change about it tbh. I’m really going to miss watching this show every week. If you’re thinking about if you should watch it or not, stop thinking and just watch it. You will not be disappointed I promise (if you are I think you might be a psychopath). Please, please, please watch it and give the actors lots of love because they all did an amazing job!!

A story about realizing about what's important in life

I found this drama to be one of the best I've ever watched. The plot starts slow and dragging with Mukai (Akaso) trying to be in a romantic relationship at all costs. However, he is not fulfilled even when he becomes able to date other female characters. I thought Mukai to be a silly character in this part. But, as the drama continues, I understood this happens because Mukai is lost. Something is clearly missing. He isn't able to identify what is important to him in life. Not only in respect with romantic relationships, but also with relationships in general. I think everyone faces this kind of existencial crisis once you enter your 20s or 30s. You feel devasted because your work does not fulfill you, even though you may be working with something you supposedly love. You feel confused because you start relationships that exist for the sake of not being alone. You realize that being independent is not all that matters. So what's life all about? I think Mukai is in this same journey (as we all are) searching for the answers to this question. As we see with the other characters, this answer is not unique. Actually, every person will need to figure out their own answer. For Mukai, though, I believe he finds an answer that generalizes well. He discovers that you need to properly face other people in order to live a life with meaning (hence the theme song always stating "mukaiatte"). He is able to discover that by having natural, fun, and sometimes profound conversations with Sakaido-san (Haru), that is, by properly facing her without preconceived social conventions. Then, his aura transforms and we see a whole different main character, much more confident and with personality. The ending is ambiguous and we don't know if Mukai ends with Sakaido-san. Personally, I believe this is a good ending, because this drama is not about relationships as an end in itself, but rather a lesson about relationships as a mean to live better. It is a shift in perspective. In all, I believe this drama brings an important reflection about facing relationships and life with a direct and honest attitude.

Youth Family Time Slip Drama

exceeded what I expected the story to be. I thought it would be a family Melo drama with lots of suffering, but nope I was completely wrong, this was a fun youth band drama.
The actors really embodied their characters really well and it really suits them.
The OSTs are all compliment the whole story really well.

Overall, it's a really fun drama when you thought that the 1st eps is a bit saddening.
A must watch to all K-drama lovers or maybe a start to someone new to k-drama world.

Murmurs of the Heart

By almost every objective metric, The Heart should have been one of the year’s best dramas. In truth it is the best medical drama I’ve seen so far coming out of the mainland. (Although I haven’t seen that many good ones truth be told) The script is meticulous, well-researched and the character arcs are brilliantly woven into the story. But tackling all 38 episodes is likely to be a marathon for many especially in the home stretch. It could have been China’s answer to Hospital Playlist but sadly lacks the latter’s impulse for economy as it inevitably gets bogged down by romances that it arguably doesn’t need. It’s a shame really because the series has a plenty of heart and the relationship among the three leads is one of the show’s bright spots. Moreover the patient stories and their unveiling within the show’s larger tapestry are among some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Mark Chao, Jin Shijia, Rachel Mao Xiaotong are the aforementioned leads in this slice-of-life drama a cardiology specialist centre as its backdrop. Mark Chao is Zhou Xiaofeng, a mild-mannered cardiology internist, Jin Shijia (from Under the Skin) is a cardiac surgeon Lin Yi and Rachel Mao plays Fang Xiaoran, an ICU doctor with surgical training. Xiaofeng and Lin Yi are polar opposites in temperament. Lin Yi though a talented surgeon is something of a loose canon and tends to run his mouth. Xiaofeng is a capable administrator but defers a little too much to his ethically challenged mentor. Xiaoran, on the other hand has the best bedside manner of the trio. Unknown to most of their colleagues, Xiaofeng and Xiaoran are half siblings. Their mother is a famous cardiologist Fang Zhuqing who divorced Xiaofeng’s dad when he was a boy. Mother and son are estranged from one another and part of Xiaofeng’s journey is to gradually reconcile with her.

As with all good camaraderie that is forged through fire, opposites clash at first but it doesn’t take long for them to appreciate the other’s skill set and even become a dynamic duo for more complex, multi-stage procedures. Lin Yi’s life is further complicated by the fact that he’s also the primary caregiver of an older brother who is living out the final stages of a genetic heart disease that could also afflict him at any time. It’s the sword that hangs over his head. There’s no cure for the condition but it is that which animates his embrace of medicine and his attitude towards patient needs.

A major chunk of the show is about the inner workings of the cardiology unit from the administrative side of things to inpatient consultations. It peels away the perceived glamour of the profession by featuring plausible predicaments related to short-term and long-term patients who wander around the hallowed corridors of the hospital. Right from the word “go”, it’s clear that the demand for medical services outstrip the supply. Medical staff with all their own personal baggage are overworked to the bone. Yet they are still expected to perform 110% once they put on the uniform. In that light, the drama highlights not only the limitations of medical science as it currently stands but also the enormous responsibility of clinical practice at every level. From inpatient visits to pre-surgery consults and post-operative recovery in the ICU.

In addition cardiac medicine also serves as a recurring metaphor and vehicle for a larger conversation about the importance of community not just among the medical professionals but the patients who temporarily find their place in that place. Medicine is more than a science. Everyone has a story. Strangers who occupy the same space for a period of time form a bond that have important consequences for the future. Some are pulled from the cusp of death while others never leave. But all leave indelible traces behind providing crucial life lessons.

There’s a part of me that is keen to recommend this. The production values are high. The cinematography is excellent and the casting is generally right on the money. However 38 episodes might be a slog for some and more importantly, there aren’t any good subs that I’m aware of. Still if you’re keen on a good heartwarming thoughtful drama, this could be the thing to hit the spot.

the best drama of 2023

I've never written a review before, actually, I have no idea how to write one... but this drama deserves to be honoured. many time travel dramas lack the necessary context behind them, however, I felt this drama perfectly captured the present, past and future and still somehow made it understandable.
i guess you could call this a melo-comedy... a drama has never made me laugh and cry so much throughout every episode. this really touched my heart even reminding me that our parents all have a story about their youth.
as for the casting, every actor was practically made for this role somehow.
the only issue I have with this drama is the rushed ending. the pacing throughout the drama is actually quite perfect and makes sense, however, in the end, it was a mess. this would have been perfect as a 20-episode.
all I can say is, you need to watch this to understand the hype, because for once I can understand why a drama is so hyped up. and go hug your mother.

Look the only reason I braved the storm was the supporting cast of Bourn and Prem as they were the ones carrying the show the main couple had nothing going for them at all as it seemed interactions were forced not any passion or drive. The only reason I started it was the ironic first episode that will always be the best first episode of any drama as it made me cry and wish there was a series on them being the main but glad to see little snippets of their life and how they ended up commuting suicide

Don't waste your time

I don't know why they created this as the blurb is accurate but was expecting so much more. In the first episode, it isn't clear the main character is just boring and his looks are just all wrong. I skipped most of it as I just couldn't endure it. Maybe it gets better in the next few dramas but I watched a few Korean bls as they can't seem to get it right. The whole going back home after 15 years. I get it not wanting to face the memories yet they are grown up now but that makes little sense. What was the peter pan tin all about as it hadn't shown yet and that was the only decent idea thrown it with messs

Way too long

The best part of this whole drama was Gwi and the 2nd FL. Both of them were so interesting and I wish, WISH they would've explored Gwi's backstory more because he was by far the most interesting character. While FL was already quite mid in the beginning, she quickly became annoying with her being constantly useless and a burden. At some point I couldn't stand her face anymore which always looked like she is about to cry and skipped most of her scenes - even the romance scenes. It says a lot when the lead couple are the least likeable characters in a show because they are just so damn weak and annoying. Gwi really saved the show for me - admittedly also because his visuals were just on fire.
The story itself was fine, it was just dragged for way too long. This whole drama would've worked with half as many episodes. Unlike other people have said, I don't think the show looks cheap. It has its moments but otherwise it's fine honestly. The bigger issue is by far the drama length and main leads.

the uncut is the better version

It's a good series in general, they do a pretty good job with the screenplay and the actors all them was good, the main and lead roles know how to act and they deserves a praise for this, but lets be honest if you watch in a 2.0x speed you dont lose anything because the series was sooooooooooooo sloooooooooooow, they have such a good scenes I totally agree but the suspect aura was not for me, the soundtrack was good and the rewatch value its like medium because every ep is 60min so you have to be a big wish to rewatch.

a good vibe but nothing new

Well, i just get sick at Minato's way of being, at some point I stop get it. Like in the first season was good because was new but at this season I was expecting a way of being more mature but everything goes around this and I found it very predictable and the lead role do not save like I was thinking that will be, I truly wish that they grown a little and makes another stories with less aegyo and that kinda stuff, the soundtrack was not that different from season one and the acting was good as usual.

At first, I hated it so much and honestly don't know why I kept at it and it eventually got a little better not by much though. It was the scoops that they were getting which was interesting enough and wished we learned more. The undercover onoe did was so unrealistic as it didn't take a few hours to get people's trust. It disappointed me this is the reason I don't watch Japanese nl as there is little drama and action interweaved in the romance. Knowing me I will forget all about this never to watch it again as no scene left a mark on me

lovely

being very honest this is just lovely and that's the true, This not authentic, looks more like a usual romance with straight people who is just boring and is just to you watch while eat, the soundtrack is like elevator songs but not in a bad way. The main point its the acting, the main and lead roles are talented and do a good job with that screenplay. But its lovely, the actors take care of the series very well you can watch when you want to watch something a little shallow or sweet.......

A bit of a feverdream

First things first: production and writing of this show is a mess. The first 3/4 of this show are nothing like the last part, it's like they are separate shows. And although I'm usually bored by court intrigues, I would've preferred that over this fantasy attempt that made my brain cells rot. Literally nothing made sense (I mean logic-wise, not the fantasy aspect) and at some points, the show felt like a fever dream. FL's actress was also quite bad. She is the kind of actress who needs to look pretty - she did not really cry but did this aesthetic crying which is so cringy to watch.
But in the beginning, I won't lie, this show had me hooked like meth for some reason. I could not stop watching and I liked that the relationship felt like how a married couple would behave. They did love each other and all misunderstandings were resolved quite fast, so you didn't have to suffer for too long.
