A magnificent rollercoaster of multiple and tridimentional emotions

I couldn't believe my eyes when this masterpiece came out, out of a blue, when everybody had stop believing it will ever aired !
And, let me tell you : it didn't disapointed :

The actors were so wonderful in it ; it felt like I was absord in the screen, in the beautiful and profound world of the unknown. I thought before such beauty existed only in my mind but it turned my calm word in a full rainbow of hope, with a glimpse of faith in God.

The frame were exquisite, the special effect wonderful, the eyelashes of Chu Wanning stunning and even my cat was watching for two days in silence.

I was very surprise to see the mature scene between the two leads ; it was really moving considering the censorship...I guess the censors were amazed too by the accuracy of the adaptation and the perfect longing in the lovers eyes.

I was so pleased I force my 100 years old homophobic grandma to watch ; she didn't hear all the dialogue or could read the subtitles but she couldn't turn her eyes. It even cure her depression ; she is so energetic now that when she goes out for jogging, I can't follow her (I have two Olympic games gold medals in athletism)

Love & Ecology

Stay Like A Local is a short omnibus series featuring beautiful places and yummy local food in eastern part of Thailand. The first and the only criticism I have to voice is the lack of translation of local names from thai to latin script. Probably in order to find out WHERE they actually are, you should pause the episode and Google translate the thai script on screen. I did not do that because the episodes are too short (7min each) to pause.

The 6 places are showcased by 12 young bl actors: each couple has an individual story with the local sustainable economy as a background. Each story is a love story using the well know tropes:
1 Friend Zone - the title says it all: best friends meet after three years. Are they still friends or maybe more? The story is sweet, full of side looks and hesitant words.
2 Confession - how to come out to your parents while helping them develop business using local produce? Dealings with parents always make me feel a bit uncomfortable and I can feel for the characters.
3 He's Not Happy - boss / employee relationship that goes both ways. Fluke has the strangest hair colour but the story is cute.
4 Goes On A Trip - a couple of coworkers go on a business trip together. Will there be something more developing between them? The glances are rather telling!
5 Let's Say A Lover - a holiday fling or more? Move on or stay back and try to fix things that are maybe not meant to be fixed...the future is open!
6 Memories - friends and maybe more meet again after certain time had passed. Will they finally be honest with each other and their feelings?

There are some really lovely stories here told within some magnificent scenery. The acting is a bit all over the place, the worst being Fluke (ep. 3 and still playing the same kind of character like in UWMA). The hair styling as well (again Fluke in ep.3 and both actors ep.6).

Everything considered, this is a nice short series expertly promoting Thailand, its gastronomy and the efforts they are making in sustainable economy. It is probably produced with the target audience of young professionals in their twenties: fans of BLs and worried about ecology.

Intrigue & Love

Even though the official english title is very poetic, the other title on youtube videos is very fitting as it describes the plot precisely: intrigue, conspiracies, lies ...and love!

As usual with these short dramas, the plot is rushed with added unnecessary complexities.
The plot is rather simple: the FL takes the place of a princess in order to kill the king and avenge her father. Her plan goes awry and she actually gets married to the northern king with the help of the queen who needs a spy in the northern kingdom. But our FL falls in love with the ML and together they uncover a conspiracy by the queen and her evil brother to create mayhem and distrust between other countries: divide and conquer.

The series is quite good: it changes from the usual chinese palace setting to the grassy plains and deserts of the north and therefore it is new and refreshing. The scenery is beautiful, the costumes are different from the usual flimsy drapes floating in the wind, the hairstyles are less elaborate and particularly ML's hair decorations are beautiful. The main actor is handsome and talented while the actress was ok: there was something bothering me about her but I cannot quite figure out what!

Maybe it was her character which bothered me the most?!? She is supposed to be a trained fighter but her skills come and go, depending on a situation or, more precisely, on her costume: when she's dressed all in black she is an excellent fighter but whenever she puts other coloured clothing she seems to become a clumsy clutz and from what I saw it was not on purpose! The ML's character becomes a bit silly towards the end: he's so much in love that he keeps following her around like a faithfull puppy, eyes filled with adoration!

I have to rant a bit: youtube go to hell with your rules and regulations! I wanted to watch the full movie version on youtube because it is more convenient but the drama is half soundless: we are not allowed to hear the music, so I guess it is the usual youtube problem with chinese music rights. I found the drama elsewhere and the songs are really beautiful (performed by a duet M/F) so it is really a shame to miss out on it! And youtube keeps insisting we subscribe: never gonna happen!

Anyway, the drama is a good short watch, the editing is a bit choppy, the two main characters are not totally convincing and the rest are rather simple though they do grow a little when they realize their mistakes. Episode 18 looks like the usual drama ending: the main couple is finally together and walking happily while gazing into each other's eyes so the additional two episodes to wrap up the loose ends I had frankly forgotten about is a bit of a change of mood after the happy ending.

Great tv for everyone

There are many moments, i don't know what to do, i'm not happy. In these times, i would like to watch a few eps of this show, it's so beautiful, heart-warming, makes me feels alive again.

YiFei 's acting is perfect, she is not just a beautiful actress, but also a skilled one. She knows here character well, and know how to make the audience feels how she feels. I have watched some of the others show, like Mulan(2020), which is the most famous one maybe, she was a warrior in this moive, totally different from Xu Hongdou(In Meet yourself). Everytime, she will totally dive into the scence and the stories.

This show also present a beautiul please in China, which is the YunNan provience. It's in the southwest of china, near the border. People lives there are very happy, very different life compare to other places in china. Many of my friends would like to take a tour there after they watch this show.

Wish I could give it a lower score

This is one series that left me conflicted.
On one side, the acting was pretty decent (especially for a bl series) the story line was good and I liked the design of the characters, but on the other hand the characters do such f***d up s**t that by the end of it i didn't want them to have a happy ending, I wanted them to go to jail.
It's why I gave the rewatch value such a low rating, I cannot be objective about it and I wouldn't put myself through this again.
I guess my advice would be watch at your own discretion. If you know/think that scenes and themes depicting sexual violence abuse, grooming, rape and coercion will trigger you or make it unwatchable maybe skip this one.

Not bad but not good too its just okay

a story between a human and a cat, although I like the concept of this story, I don't like the love triangle genre. From the start, I skipped the story a lot for various reasons, such as the story of FL who couldn't forget SML and SML who didn't reveal he was leaving FL and the story about Kuncing who became human and loved FL, maybe I would have liked it better if it was like a romance drama with only ML and FL That's just because here the romance story doesn't really feel that approach when it's in the middle episode and the romance genre feels like during episodes 20-24, the rest is just like filler without any progress or setbacks. I did a lot of skipping from the beginning to the middle of the episode because the romance nuance wasn't really felt and it felt boring because FL was still looking for a way to forget about SML, but after being able to forget about SML, the story became quite exciting and yes, I watched it until the end for one day. For me, I give this drama a 7 rating.

A Cluttered Transmigrating Story

To be honest, I'm not sure where to start with this story. It begins with our main character, Lian Man'Er, entering a VR gaming world as a beta tester and gets stuck in the system. The only way out is to complete only one task, which takes an entire series. Another character, the male lead, Shen Nou, appears, hinting that he's in a game, but as the story progresses, it isn't clear. Its obvious he's from the real world.

What I appreciate about the story is the family relationships, which is the heart of the story. It explores favoritism, selfishness, healing and learning to get along with one another.

However, I dislike the story itself. It's unclear what the story wants to convey. I would have preferred the story as a period drama leaving out the random VR video game.

Joseph Zhang is a great actor, and I enjoyed his performances in other dramas like Fighter of Destiny, Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre, and Take My Brother Away. However, I the character he portrays as Shen Nou is his worst yet. I mainly watched this drama for him, but unfortunately, he was cast in such a disorganized story. This is my first time watching Tian Xi Wei's performance, and it's not bad. While the actresses and actors protraying the Lian family felt genuinely real, Man'Er and Shen Nou felt more like live action anime, webtoon characters.

So, I just wanted to say I have been waiting for this one since I watched the trailer. but I don't know what I was high on that I remember it looking like a toxic and taboo romance lol which obviously yes please!

but I started watching and at first I didn't know what to think about the fact that it's a horror plot with hex curses and all. I mean look I love all that too, especially ffs Win looks sooo gorgeous! even more so than anything he's in before at for me personally. because damn the way he looked especially in the red coat and the other ensembles !

but okay this one is very much symbolic and everything is either a metaphor for mental health, or toxic relationships, or even fears that people who are different frequently have to suffer.

the bullying from people that turns the victim into a villain themselves, that's what the "curse" on Namsine basically stands for and I love that nuance. The whole part of 'Enigma' is done so well, I just love it.

even though like I said I wasn't sure at the start if I was going to like it but dude I was hooked by the end of ep 1!

I love gross grotesque stuff so that ending reveal blew my mind (θ‿θ) even though I pretty much said it out loud to myself that if it is him that would be BADASS and it was! lol
it was exactly as badass as I thought! I can't wait for the next season

The BEST Kdrama I have watched in AGES!!!! ✨?

Before starting this kdrama I didn't know what I was getting into. I thought it would be just another drama with that clichè story of travelling back in time. And I swear I have never written review for any drama before but this drama is SOOOO GOOD I had to let people know what they're missing on if anyone hasn't watched it yet!

The casting has been done perfectly. The chemistry between the cast, their acting everything just feels so natural. All the funny scenes are so beautifully done it doesn't feel forced at all. It's a whole package it'll make you laugh, make you cry, make you get excited over the bromance and make you feel the romance.

The title fits perfectly this drama will actually make you feel refreshed like after eating a watermelon ?
It is one of those dramas that will lighten up your mood, give you that youthful feeling. I can't wait for my eun-se and chan-ah couple to end up together but at the same time I don't want this drama to end ?

Great Chinese-drama that causes me to anxiously chasing for the upcoming episodes to release...

This is indeed a very nice C-drama with suspense story plot that makes each episodes a mystery to watch. Everytime I thought the story is leading towards an outcome I predict, it ends up with a surprise tweak with the storyline and makes me to be anxiously wanting to watch the next episode like... right now! However, we have to follow the release time of the studio that broadcast this drama that we follow.

I like the overall story flow as it managed to show the details of the storyline for me. In each of the scenes, I find the lighting and props for this C-drama capture are well planned, and the acting expression of the actors and actresses are all very well executed. Hence, the cast of this C-drama indeed have shown their great acting skills to my level of liking. Best part for this C-drama is that at the ending of each episodes, it also comes with Bonus Footage that became the filler for viewers to better understand the storyline. I kind of like how the Director came out with this idea...

I highly recommends all to watch this C-drama, if you have not done so. It's indeed awesome and entertaining to watch with family together. Once you start watching it, you'll be anxiously watching until the last episode and only in the final episode, it will reveal the true mystery. I will classify this C-drama as semi happy ending with a nice closing, which many new recent drama failed to achieve this classification and left the viewers with cliff-hanging feeling.

P/S: The opening OST is very nice to listen as it comes with nice melody and the singer vocal is great too. Kudos to the singer for this opening OST.

If You're Into Red Flags I Guess...

Overall Rating: 5.5/10

For some weird, unimaginable reason, some people wish this series was longer. I just want to clarify that there was no plot whatsoever. People can argue that the plot is in the title; however, by the 2nd episode, that plot was essentially non existent. From then on we were completely stranded in the middle of a messy story with no plot and no direction and the most cliche tropes you can possibly imagine. It is honestly hard to believe that they could make more episodes out of this half baked story.

Let's begin with this - I had high hopes for the series. In fact, I was under the impression that it would be a lighthearted story of two teenagers falling in love - I was ready for lovey dovey cliches, tons of fluff and maybe a little bit of angst. What I was not ready for was tons of red flags being diminished for the sake of lightheartedness. Most characters and events in this story are toxic, yet the show does a great job of making that seem okay.

This series disappointed me on so many levels. I came here looking for a soothing, heal my soul type watch and I found this - red flag galore. So much toxicity left unattended and normalized. The title was barely the plot, the characters were scarily whitewashed and the story was predictable. I don't think I have ever watched a series that seemed rushed yet slow at the same time - Keep in mind that this is just 4 episodes with barely any storyline, way too many red flags, and a bore all the way through. I can't think of one thing I enjoyed. It's not worth anybody's time and I wasted too much of mine on this unsalvageable mess.

P.S: I was being generous with my 5.5

Check my feed for a more detailed description.

Worth watching, but a mixture of good and bad

I loved the general idea and follow-through of two of the three storylines. (hopefully not a spoiler) but I'm a huge fan of the "I'm in love with my straight, oblivious best friend who makes my life all miserable" and they did a pretty good job with it. I felt Min Woo's pain, but then it became a little choppy/rushed.
I loved Lee Hyun and Kim An's storyline because of Lee Hyun's unwavering devotion to Kim An despite all he had been through, slowly showing him he can let love in. But Kim Yong Seok was (rightly) just done with his character by episode 9. His character had seemed like a strong character who was fighting through so much sh*t, and was in reach of making it out the other side, and then, well that would be a spoiler, but in general, I feel like the "weakness" and dependence shown by the character later on was out of character, and Kim Yong Seok (and I) were not fans.
The last one was just ... present? I'm sure there was a story being told, but I can't really isolate it. Nevertheless, Jung Woo Jae was one of the best actors in the show. (I was surprised that J-min was the best actor. Should I be surprised that an idol is an incredible actor? Or am I being partial)
(other?) Complaints:
Like what was it with the boom mikes floating along the top of the screen at least two different times - the first time they were in front of Kim An's house, and the second was in Ep. 9. I don't know a lot about filming, but I Can't think of anything more unprofessional and easily fixed. Like, that seems like the biggest no-no.
While I enjoyed the individual storylines, the ending of each (especially Maru and Min Woo) seemed rushed, but then they stretched out the ending also known as who-even-knows-what-is-happening-after-everyone-got-together-but-let's-make-it-as-awkward-and-poinless-as-sh*t. i.e. Episode 10 should not exist. It was the epitome of awkward cringe. I watched it because the characters' stories and actors had brought me in and I wanted to stay with them until the end. There were still little cute moments in the mix, but it still was painful to watch. You could tell Gim An/Kim Yong Seok had had enough. (somewhat of a spoiler) Forcing all storylines to converge in a nonsensical way, and have six men sit and talk in a circle about each other and nothing while glamping together? Nah, man.

Where did the plot GO?

What is it with Netflix and these dumb-down dramas?
Whatever happened to the story? For the first half, it may have been silly but like good silly since it had a PLOT to follow. The spells and the curse were interesting. But then suddenly the plot disappeared and we were left with nothing to support this story other than the romance.
So by the end of it, I am left with nothing but confusion, disappointment, and a lot of questions left unanswered. For example:
Didn’t he like have a degenerative disease? What about the love spell, was that ever a thing? There was supposed to be a curse…what happened to it? The crazy stalker was present in both timelines did that mean something? How did he know how to make spells? Am I just missing something? did I miss a whole ass episode where all of this got explained??

Yeah, they were cute and had a ton of chemistry but by the end, there were 0 explanations. It’s like it was an entirely different drama in the second half.

Also, it felt like they had good actors who were terribly underused. Why have Lee Pilmo and Lee Taeri in your cast when they barely appear? They didn't even get proper storylines they were just there to fill space with some sublevel plotlines. Wasted talent in my opinion.

Other than that the other actors did fine. Jo Boah has a talent for obnoxious characters, she plays them too well really. Rowon we can agree, had that good scene at the beginning of ep 16, the rest he did what any other handsome idol/actor does well: play the perfect, cold, stone-faced character. He did have a lot of smiles and puppy eyes for Jo Boah in the end though. The rest of the cast was nothing but fillers since they did not add much to the story. Well maybe a little bit the second ML, I kinda want to see him do an ML gig soon, I saw him in Bad Prosecutor too and I liked him and his acting.

The OST was fine, the production great, the CGI was passable, and the budget was budgeting.
In conclusion, the drama was a letdown since I quite enjoyed the beginning. I don't know what is going around lately with these rom-coms that show on Netflix. Good-looking, popular leads with a high budget and good production will only get you so far. They need to step up their script game because, CHILD how can you spend so much money on something that's this lacking, underfinished, AND JUST SO BAD?

I enjoyed the version with sk subtitles from ŠK and I must say that the series belongs to the narrow top of the best.
As Extasy writes, beautiful Thai girls also star in the series this time. The creators bet on the physical - two actors with beautiful athletic muscular figures (both now play the main roles in the new series Manner Of Death). It had a plot, school was almost suppressed, there were also more mature issues (stories), more mature actors (Bright, Kavitra). The creators were not afraid to expose the actors here and there. The mutual bond between Korn and Knock was felt, but I also felt a lot that the main actors were heterosexuals in every inch, especially the clumsy (in a good way) Korn, who could go from a spot with his character to being a gym trainer. Memorable characters of the tattooed Phubet, the scoundrel Pleng, the doctor-seduced Pharma and others. Overall an excellent experience.
It's just a pity that the series connected to this one - Bad Romance and Together With Me: The Next Chapter are not translated into Czech or SK for a wider audience, maybe it's because these series were only released with English hard sub.

Vychutnal jsem si verzi s sk titulky od ŠK a musím říci, že seriál patří do užší špičky těch nejlepších.
Jak píše Extasy, v seriálu hrají tentokráte i krásné thajské dívky. Tvůrci vsadili na fyzično - dva herce s krásnými vysportovanými svalnatými postavami (oba nyní hrají hlavní role v novém seriálu Manner Of Death). Zapamatovatelné postavy tetovaného Phubeta, mrchy Pleng, lékařem svedeného Pharma a další. Jako celek výborný zážitek.
Škoda jen, že série spojené s touto - Bad Romance a Together With Me:The Next Chapter nejsou přeloženy do cz nebo sk pro širší množinu diváků, možná je to tím, že tyto seriály vyšly jen s eng hard sub.
