This drama is one of the Chinese dramas that I enjoyed watching. I love the character development and the scenes were quite exceptional. I fell for Xiao Nai and Wei Wei's relationship. The characters' personalities are quite good. I also love the plot for it's unique but there are also lots of scenes that are cliche and predictable. There were also lots of scenes that will make you roll over your bed or on the floor because the scenes are so sweet and Xio Nai is really attractive. It will also make you laugh for their peers are very entertaining and lovable.

Xiao Nai's acting was so good that I fell for his character. He is cold but he is warm towards the people that he cares about. Wei Wei on the other side, she is quite good. BUT I'm not that convinced by her acting at all. There are times that she is over acting and there are also times that her expressions are not that good. It would be better if they showed more depth to the characters of the story and such.

What I disliked about this drama is that there are some of the characters that are over acting and annoying. The kissing scenes are also not that good. Xiao Nai's approach is good but Wei Wei is like a stone whenever their lips touched. I can't feel any passion at all. I hoped that the romantic scenes were more mature.

As a conclusion, if you are looking for a light drama, you can watch this one. The early episodes are really enjoyable and lovely. If you are heartbroken or sad and you need a boost on your perspective about romance, I recommend you to watch this drama.

There is something about the perfect bubble that Bei Wei Wei and Xiao Nai live in that makes you want to escape to their world for a few days.

I recently re-watched Love O2O for the first time in 2 years. While I still enjoyed this drama, the small issues that I ignored in my first viewing were more pronounced this time around. I want to write a quick review while these thoughts are fresh~

Pros: This drama is easy to watch, with lovable characters and a charming slice-of-life storyline. I love Yang Yang as Xiao Nai, the bromance between his friends, and all of the gaming scenes. But most of all I love that once the leads become a couple, they never waver or are unnecessarily separated. All obstacles are tackled together and they truly trust one another, which is so refreshing in dramaland that it is one of the main reasons why I wanted to re-watched the series. The story's pace moves slowly, so don't expect any cliffhangers or big surprises, but that was something I personally enjoyed as well.

Cons: The biggest problem I had was with how unreal the entire drama felt. Now, you might be saying "well, duh?", and I know that when watching most dramas we need to suspend our disbelief... but in Love O2O it was impossible for me to ignore. The ML and FL were too perfect, good at everything they touched and so wholesome from the start that they didn't have any character development. Their lives were like a fairytale - they faced very few actual problems and when they did, they were all solved through their own brilliance while the supporting characters were just there as scenery. Their Mary-Sue personalities, coupled with the soft filters used throughout the drama sometimes made me feel like I was watching a dream sequence instead of a real show.
I would say that the whole series was just visual fanfiction, except that the romance felt very dated at the same time. Bei Wei Wei was so incredibly innocent that I could not believe she was a college student in 2015 (when the show takes place). And even though I liked their characters together, I did not feel romantic chemistry between Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang, and their few romantic scenes were uncomfortable to watch. Others may have loved some of these things and rated the show higher for it, but I noticed them so much that it took away from my viewing experience.

Despite my mini-rant in the 'Cons' section, I would still rate the show as average and may even re-watch this again in another few years. I really do like the easygoing plot and the gaming aspect, so I can look past the too-perfect leads. Love O2O has a very unique vibe and I would encourage any potential viewers to give it a try.

An easy love story, without any crazy melodrama to spoil it.

I really liked this drama. The relationship between the main leads is sweet and strong from the get go. Regardless of how many crazy things the other characters try to send their way, their love remains steadfast.

No crazy melodramatic twists and turns here, a pretty realistic and sweet love story with likable characters that will make you feel good overall.

The gaming aspect of it is big at the beginning but as the relationship develops in real life and they "grow up" the gaming takes a back-step in the story.

Highly recommended if you just want a relaxing love story.

Story: A sweet and light love story. The difference? The focus on online games which gave the drama some fantasy element and the interaction between friends living in the campus. If you are saturated with too many complicated love stories, this is the drama that will give you a breath of fresh air. You'll find yourself smiling most of the time. One smile = alluring. Many smiles = Excellent! My congratulations to the writer who also happened to author Shan Shan Comes to Eat - another nice sweet romance drama worth your time. I'm off to re-watch it now!

Acting/Cast: At first I was a bit worried when Zheng Shuan was cast in the role of Wei Wei. The novel described Wei Wei as a beautiful young woman with the perfect body and frankly speaking, Zheng Shuan's not the best around when it comes to having curves where curves should be. The movie version of this drama cast Angelababy as Wei Wei which was closer to the description of Wei Wei in the novel. So, having watched the movie first - I had to adjust to seeing a mediocre-looking Wei Wei in the drama but after a few episodes, it became a non-issue as the story took precedence. The shining star here is Yang Yang. His boyish charm shone through. He alone pulled through the chemistry with his leading lady when Zheng Shuan was a little stiff to start with. Watch out for those scenic and romantic scenes....and kisses! The dialogues were also excellent!

Music: Passable but it is not the music that attracts. It's the sweet love story.

Rewatch value: Highly re-watchable. Lots of sweet scenes.

Overall: Addictive. Sweet. Smile inducing. Makes me wanna re-live my younger days in Uni and fall in love again. Highly recommended.

Amazing and cute!

I really liked this c-drama. It was very refreshing and adorable. Loved the music and acting, especially when in the game. The actors were chosen very well, and played their roles fantastically. The storyline was very good. So happy I got the chance to watch this. I honestly loved it so much that I re-watched it at least 6 times. It is very hard for me to find a c-drama that I will be obsessed with forever, so I am very glad, again, for watching it. Highly recommend watching this cute rom-com c-drama!

The OST *praise emoji*

This show is a great one to get started on chinese dramas - it's simple, cute, well-produced, and involves a normal, college life and normal dating. There was a cliche love triangle, adorable main actors whose chemistry was very good, and the mean girls who spread rumors on campus.

In the end, my favorite part of this drama was the OST - I might be biased but I LOVE Silence Wang, and his style and voice just fit so perfectly with this drama. It felt so dreamy and beautiful along with the gorgeous set, production, and styling.

I'm quiet satisfied with this Drama

I watched so many modern dramas till date which had misunderstands or anger moments between leads but this actually seemed bit better compared to other dramas.
I felt the way ML trusting FL is really a good point in the drama. In most of the dramas I have watched, I've always seen that whenever there's something happens with FL, ML gets annoyed or shows distrust towards FL. Surely it's a re-watchable drama

Pros of watching Drama:
1) FL and ML are too good. Their appearances, performances are very nice.
2) I really liked the friends around ML and FL. Seeing them cheerful, enjoyable and trusting each other are very good to watch.
3) There are no big conspiracies involved unlike other dramas. It's a very cheerful drama to watch.
4) Luckily, this drama has no triangular love story. Though there were characters where they like ML and FL but it was shown in a lite way.

Cons:
1) Gaming part seemed boring but the interaction in game between ML and FL is not boring.

Hope my review helps!

the main lead is a god ...

actually.. yang yang acting was too good.. but i feel the female lead acting was not that satisfactory... also.. as many suggested.. the story is too perfect... like the fantasy types where both their lives are perfect.. male lead is so confident on female lead.. many times I felt that there should be a very nice male and female lead where there is no misunderstanding.. but I feel this was too unbelievable... I liked the story a lot but these things bothered.. like the second male and female lead realize their mistake so easily and so bluntly... there is no proper way of realization etc.. even if i give ratings 9.5 I feel yang yang played better in other roles than love 020's PERFECT GOD... this way of portrayal was not needed [ many Chinese dramas have this perfect god theme but this was too much ] the story would be interesting with no breakup , but small fights and little emotions to their love rather than only exaggerating the kiss scenes... overall the story is nice, acting of yangyang is very good .. cute, and very sweet love story,

I love this drama!!!

Story/Plot:
In my opinion Love 020 is a typical Campus Love Story. I don´t really like Youth dramas but this one got me.
They had done the fantasy part of this drama, which was the interaction between the characters in the online game, very good. I even tried some games after this drama, tho I was never interested in those things.
The story itselfs is not very complicated and you can easily understand what´s going on.

Acting/Cast:
At the beginning when I watched it, I was really worried that Zheng Shuang could break some bones during the fight with the monsters in the online game. She was so slim!!!
For me she was not the best suitable cast for Bei Wei Wei´s character. But she and Yang Yang were both as a couple an eye candy. I love the interaction between those two.
I never read the novel so I don´t know how the original author discribed her but I think she is more the kind of girls who are beautiful and directly. Tho Zheng Shuang played her role very good and was absolutely gorgeous, she doesn´t give me a feeling that I have a girl like this in front of me. She would suit a character who is quiet and clever more. (Just my opinion)
As for Yang Yang, he was an Outshining Star! He played his role also very good and yeah he was so Handsome XD
The support roles are too very good. And after you watched some episodes you´ll love every character no matter if they are bad or good!

Music:
Not my type of music but ok

Rewatch Value:
I highly recommend to rewatched it cuz yeah just for the cute scene you´ll want to watch it twice

I think the value of this series lies in the perfection embodied in the main characters. Xiao Nai is portrayed as a perfect, all-rounded boyfriend with almost no flaws. He builds his own empire and does not start off as a rich, entitled heir as typical of other dramas of the same genre.

The female lead is also perfect, which the right combination of looks, wits and intelligence, and the ability to maintain her relationship with her close friends and family.

Their relationship - is obviously perfect. No jealousy, no cheating and no uncertainty. It's a refreshing watch.

*Just a note that I purely only gave this drama a go because of the actor Yang Yang, I'd highly recommend that you check his other acting roles out!

Story/Plot: At first glance, this drama seemed amazing - opening with a fantasy fight scene set in a traditional Chinese RPG game. This theme ran throughout the drama, but it eventually levelled off later on and focused on the relationship between the two leads. The involvement of the game in the drama was a nice touch since it added a stronger plot, which Love o2o definitely lacks in many aspects because nothing major ever happens throughout each episode other than minor quarrels between characters.

Acting/Cast: Moving onto characters... uhh Zheng Shuang was definitely a let down. Although I hate to say it, her acting was terrible and she doesn't know how to kiss (Yang Yang carried every single kiss scene while ZS just kind of stood there and let it happen), plus she's way too skinny and it bothered me the whole time that I was watching, adding on I don't think that the two actors have much chemistry together; maybe they should've casted someone better for the role of Bei Wei Wei? However, mayhaps I have to say that the show was worth watching just to drool over Yang Yang the whole time ;)

Music: The OSTs used in the show were so fitting for every scene and you'll be giddy to know that two of them were even sung by the actors themselves hehe.. “有点甜” is a must listen!

Rewatch Value: Personally I'm not much of a rewatch kind of guy and it's up to the preference of the viewer I suppose. However, I wouldn't bother rewatching this drama seeing as there are plentiful other dramas with similar plots like 'Put Your Head On My Shoulder' or 'A Love So Beautiful'.

Overall: Honestly it wasn't that bad. Everything about the drama was quite generic and typical other than the incorporation of the online game. However, I'd definitely recommend other cdramas over this one.

Love O2O A look at Gaming World and Techie Personalities

I just finished watching the Series and the Movie on Netflix. The cinematography in the movie was much better than the series episodes which were inconsistent in quality. The movie accurately told the story but without the depth and detail about the character's lives. The long series satisfied me more because I am a person who likes to understand not just what happens in a story, but what makes the characters tick. If I had control of the movie and the series content, I would have changed the ending in the movie to Episode 30 of the series. I watched the thirtieth episode three times and I have NEVER done that after first watching a any series. Episode 30 depicted the male lead's sense of humor and confidence romantically after having navigated a 2+ year relationship with his first love. The female lead also seemed new to love saying, "no" to potential suitors to focus on school. Her character was written with a timid personality. A lot of her dialogue was "in her head" and showed me her insecurities. I loved how the couple were consistently candid throughout in their relationship inspite of insecurities.

The male lead was perfect as a high IQ techie who is in his head until he notices a girl for the first time in his life . I read one reviewer refer to him as arrogant and that was true in most of the series but his girlfriend didn't seem to mind. I say the writer did their job well because the actor's behavior was consistent with his genius personality. The writers wrote the fellow developers (employees) to hero-worship the lead a bit too much but the writers revealed why his employees/buddies were so loyal to him. The actor underplayed his feelings but was skilled in subtly showing his growing attraction to his girl with very small changes to his smile and eyes that showed he was enamored with her.

The female lead turned me both on and off by her personality throughout She made me feel hot and cold about her romance. The male lead's passionate kisses didn't look mutual. There was nothing in all of her study sessions that seemed challenging that she voiced. Off and on I wished another actress had been chosen for the part. The writers should have shown her to be more tech savy in her studies... she was majoring in computer science after all. She used her skills only briefly as an intern. The writers showed her dad's desire for her to do something with her education when he feared she would get married right out college.

In the real world, how influential is an unskilled newly-hired intern in directing a permanent employee to cut or hire other intern applicants at a company? That whole part seemed unrealistic unrealistically contrived to fit the purpose of the scene. The writer could have done better.

The story line about social media and jealous female students seemed to be written by a separate group of writers who maybe were male and did not have an understanding of the age group of college juniors and seniors, giving the supporting female characters little maturity. The writers seemed to rely on high school mentality perceptions rather than more sophisticated personalities in writing for the women obsessed with who is more beautiful; like beauty is all that matters in life... Maybe it was intended show that their behavior was based on what they thought the guys on campus were interested in. The maturity of the two leads overshadowed that of all of the supporting characters.

I would liked to have seen the writers include K.O. in some budding romance at the instigation of the female lead. K.O. was a lot like the male lead in his personality.

I loved the scenes with the parents, and the scenes at the game company during the days while trying to reach their development deadline . Having been married to an Electronics Engineer for many years I though the atmosphere and the synergy was spot on. I remember so many times getting some time away with my husband during a deadline push that resulted in lowering his stress, and having creativity and problem-solving pop into his head out of the blue.
