Bei Weiwei's fashion sense in this movie is horrible. Xiao Nai isn't that good-looking. Even Meng Yiran's character is so different. In the show, Meng Yiran is a shy girl who is scared to go to Xiao Nai because she's scared of what he will think of her, Meng Yiran is also a rich girl. As the Meng Yiran in the movie has no sense in fashion either and she is straight-up obnoxious and is full of confidence and tries to get Xiao Nai's attention which I find very disturbing.
The biggest thing that makes me so mad is the settings. The movie looks like they didn't care for the setting at all. The backgrounds look like they didn't give enough effort. The Place where they had the dinner, when the characters all meet Weiwei for the first time in the show, that place looks super expensive. The one in the movie just looks like a small bar place.
I don't know why I even watched this. It was just a copy of the other show and overall wasn't good.

⚠ WARNING ⚠ Not Criticizing Just taking out my emotions ps: I wrote what I feel
From the day I started watching chinese korean thai taiwanish japanese dramas and movies I have never gave any movie/drama low rating even though I dropped the movie (when 40min movie was left) but while watching this movie I can't stop myself from giving such a hertbreaking negative review.. I always thought that the drama/movie is made by a lot of effords so we should respect the effords of the artists, crew, director, writer everyone. I have read the novel & watched loveO2O many times and its one of my favourite drama but this movie is total cringe...after watching this movie half way (till the basketball match) specially that basketball match between two departments my heart wasn't able to take it anymore..I mean YangYang was so amazing in loveO2O , every scene was so alive.. you understand what I mean ! but this movie is uhhhhhh I don't want to speak wrong or bad about anything but people who have watched love O2O can feel what i'm feeling right now .. Man seriously there was no need to make a movie about it.. the drama was sufficient no more than sufficient .. we love yangyang as xiao nie there was no need to spoil the storyline by making this movie. movie missed alot of scenes and the female lead's character doesn't match the character of weiwei as the drama/ novel , weiwei in movie is extrovert, talketive and outrageous but in drama/novel she was shy, innocent, introvert, silent, cute, reserved type of person and the male lead in movie was I don't know the right word but I was not able to connect with xiao nie. There was no need to make this movie ... Drama was sufficient no more than sufficient.. We loved the chemistry between the main leads in drama... There was no need to spoil the storyline by making this movie.. I'm not criticizing the movie or anyone but it's just that LoveO2O drama was a masterpiece and thus movie is like a 2minute incomplete recape oo the scenes of main leads in the drama.
It's that my heart feels nothing, it was empty while watching the movie I wasn't able to connect with the characters but the case was opposite when I watched Love O2O.. I was full of emotions.. My heart felt every emotion in the drama, when they cried my heart aches, whenever xiaonie smiled at weiwei my heart skipped a beat and I got butterflies in my stomach whenever I watch the drama Love O2O.
Sorry if anyone feels bad after reading my review about the movie I wrote what I feel sorry if my review hurt anyone really sorry. (╥_╥)

Comparison with Love O2O
I struggled to watch the entire drama all the way through but this movie was a breeze to watch. People said it was too rushed but that’s because they tried to squeeze everything into 1 hr 35 mins. However, I think they did quite well.Story: They did change the plot a lot but the main points and main lines were executed properly.
Acting/Cast: Personally, I didn’t like Zheng Shuang’s portrayal of Bei Wei Wei. Yes, she’s pretty but there was no depiction of her intelligence or quick wittedness ANYWHERE in the drama. It really was superficial and focused on how pretty she is and how hot her figure is. She also didn’t show how their love even developed. It was like she just fell in love immediately because he’s Xiao Nai and the master/hottie declares them as an official relationship lol. She’s too submissive. Angelababy’s portrayal was a bit too extroverted as I think Bei Wei Wei should be a lot more shy and conservative BUT it’s MUCH better than Zheng Shuang’s because Angela’s Version does show proof that she’s witty, smart, quick, pretty, and knows what she wants. Also we could clearly see why Xiao Nai likes her and how Angela started truly falling for him. I did enjoy Jing Boran’s portrayal of Xiao Nai since he smiled more and it gave off less of a robotic feel but Yang Yang suits the role better to me.
Overall: I think this is definitely worth the shot and worth viewing. I didn’t recommend the drama (unless you want to see Yang Yang hehe) but I recommend this movie.

I watched the tv series(love O2O) first big mistake.
Because now I feel like everything was really rushed when in reality it was not.
I already knew all the characters and the plot, so for me there wasn't anything interesting really.
I'm not sure if I should say watch the movie or drama first I would recommend watching the movie first and then the drama because in the drama they explain way more so if you didn't understand anything in the movie you could always watch the drama.
Or only watch one of them it helps you not compare the two.
(sorry if I made any grammar mistakes)

Wow just wow!
I watched the film as I was a little hesitant to watch the 30-episode series and it was just fantastic! This is the first review of mine and I just had to share how much fun I had watching this! It was fluffy, fun, hilarious and gooey and I loved it! NGL the kiss scene was a bit disappointing but you know I guess there had to be an issue somewhere! Side characters were fun too and there were some real points in the story where I was so invested I cringed and felt some serious second-hand embarrassment lol Love the game and the plot was so interesting and fun. Let's be honest though IRL people who play games like that do not look as good lol.All in all a fun watch will defo watch it again and I am going to watch the series next now

Watch movie before the series
This movie technically came out before the series, please watch this first if you can.The game designs, characters, costumes and hair are all impressively beautiful.
The main couple are warm and natural, Cao Guang/Zhen Shui did a good job at being the "villain". As much as I like Li Xian, his character is too small to stand out, even though he's the hot headed friend of Xiao Nai.
The love story was very rushed. In-game they barely interacted, unless it is all off screen. They met twice and he embraces her and tells her about everything he's working on. Yet again, if there were more time they spent together the audience doesn't really know... and 3rd time they kiss. WHOA! Down boy! Calm down! Even if it's hot and dreamy.
COMPARING the movie to the series.
Glad they got Ryan Zheng to be Zhen Shui, who was great at being the villain. Zhen Shao Xiang's over all story was really good.
Cao Guang becoming his own character was also amazing, "evil" in his own way. His story is also cute.
KO in both movie and story are too different and both are good. Series version of KO does feel like he's more cool, but so awkward.
Weiwei and Xiao Nai movie version takes the cake. If these actor and actress were the series, it would have been perfect. I remember watching the series and thinking, story's good but the actress looks too angular. The couple is cold and distant. Although the series gave more background story and build their relationship. Most people like Yang Yang, but maybe he didn't really click Zheng Shuang and vice versa.
Obviously, the series had more time to develop the characters, story and bonding. Watching the movie after the series might be more satisfying and might not feel like Xiao Nai is going too fast with Wei wei.

+ Acting by the cast was great, especially AngelaBaby, she portrayed the character of Bei WeiWei really well.
+ CG and design of the overall game world was very beautiful to the eyes.
+ Camera techniques was optimised very well, assisting in creating a warm, dreamy, lovely feel for a romantic high school drama.
+ The music was good.
Cons
- Because it was a remake from a drama into a movie, everything was limited to a 1.5 hr time frame, which along the way I thought lost a lot of drama, plot and storyline.
- Everything was moving so fast pace, there was not enough character development, storyline development or relationship development between the mains. So because everything was moving so fast I didn't feel the romantic connection of the characters in the movie. It felt like the movie was just jumping.
- The climax part of the movie was below average for me. I was waiting for the big drama part towards the end but was disappointed.
Overall
I would only recommend to watch this movie if you've completed the drama version (Love O2O) and want to see how it is portrayed in a movie version. But if you are looking for a good interesting movie to watch, I would not recommend this movie as your first choice.

I loved how they chose actors who really knew how to act, it definitely added more colour to the movie! The acting was definitely good unlike in Chinese dramas where the actors are stiff and awkward.

First off, if there's anything at all that you should watch this movie for, then it's the scenery. It's so breathtakingly beautiful, almost like a painting.
The plot is quite interesting, and kinda makes me wanting to get back into gaming. Not that I would actually do that though, since I've got my hands full with all these movies and dramas.
Bei Wei-Wei is a great character, and I love her sharp tongue. Xiao Nai is extremely sweet, but seems too perfect to be true. For some reason that's a flaw in my mind. His friends are pretty funny too, and so are Wei-Wei's, but I never actually learned their names.
Overall, it's a sweet story, but I don't see any plot twists so it seems a little plain.
I loved it though.

In the drama Wei Wei was so passive in outgoing, she hardly let him to kiss her. There was basically no chemo between ZHENG chuang & Yang Yang.
The Bromance not as strong as it was in the drama.
So a little bromance is OK, we are not watching River Chen Bromance.
On drama v Wei Wei pissed me off by being overly innocent not even letting him to kiss and when he tries to kiss behaving like he is raping her.
obviously not everyone was happy with the drama and same thing is valid for the movie.
In the drama I disliked the main lady Wei Wei and couldn't ship her ZHENG. Here we have a lot more chemo and they're matching. Also Xing Boran is not or doesn't look as cold- reserved as ZHENG.
In the drama Cao Guan was platonically in love with Wei Wei but than fell in love with Er Xi.
Before I forget Er Xi in the movie portrayed by another actress.
In the drama Wei Wei gets married with Xiao Nai through the end, in the movie they were not married yet when the movies finished.
Other than these it follows the same plot with few differences.
If you do not know the drama it would feel like everything is hanging in the air, so first watch the drama and watch the movie later on.
