Both male leads have had a very tough childhood. They have lived alone and in very poor conditions while they have been growing. Emotional pain that they have gone through during all years has made them somehow secluded.

Whilst The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is only four episodes in, I wanted to share this recommendation because I genuinely am getting so many reminders of Hello Monster (also called I Remember You) whilst watching this. I shall now list some similarities as well as differences without spoiling either the dramas.

SIMILARITIES
• Seo In Guk plays the main lead in both dramas
• They both have a dark undertone and lots of mystery
• Circled around police investigations and wrongful accusations
• Brilliant and talented cast
• Crimes which are tangled up with the main leads and their lives
• Both of Seo In Guk's characters have that sort of 'dark aura of mystery' but are soft babies on the inside whom we all must protect <333

DIFFERENCES
• The Smile Has Left Your Eyes clearly involves romance into its plot whilst you see this much less in Hello Monster. There is a bit of romance in the latter drama but it does not tangle into the plot quite like the former.
• The female leads are completely different in personality and careers.
• Hello Monster's plot is more heavily based on crimes and the police. Whilst this is seen in The Smile Has Left Your Eyes it is not as prominent.

Both are magnificent dramas which I both thoroughly enjoyed. I have high hopes for the rest of The Smile Has Left Your Eyes and once I have finished it, I will edit this post with my preference and reasoning (which will have both a spoiler and spoiler-free version).

"You only have one problem. You don't see yourself in the way I see you. I'll like you a lot from here on out. I'll be there for you. I'LL TEACH YOU EVERYTHING YOU DON'T KNOW. Then one day, things will change for you. You'd be surprised. " - Ji Won, Flower of Evil

The female lead in "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" tells the male lead almost the same thing. and it sure hits so heavy when they both do! The male leads in both drama have really low self-esteem and keep pushing away the female lead thinking they aren't good enough or so they won't get hurt!

The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is the adaption/remake to One Million Stars Falling From the Sky.
They are both dark in tone, and has a great premise. Both are recommended.

Both are well-acted and well written.

seo Jung Hoo is a special kind of night courier, known only as "Healer" by his clients. For the right price and with the help of a genius hacker, he gets his clients whatever they want, as long as it doesn't involve murder. His latest job leads him to a second-rate tabloid writer, Chae Young Shin, and the successful reporter, Kim Moon Ho. He begins to uncover the mystery of his own shared past with the two reporters, thus putting them all in danger.

Seo In Guk is in both of these and he does a darker role than he has done.
They both have similar tone ( The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is a bit more darker).

Another very intense series although the suspects for the murders are reverse here it's the fl nd ml investigates her nd end up protecting her by the end nd loves her the way she is at present nd vice versa both of these damn
In the million stars falling from the sky it was the ml who was the suspect but in ice world its the fl enjoy the good suspense both series have to give although ice world has more suspense elements than the smile has left your eyes one

ONLY IF YOU WANT TO SEE MORE OF SEO IN GUK.

This drama is completely different, and shows a really different side to Seo In Guk's acting (as well as shows you how well he fits into any role he plays).

You have to be ready for confusion, suspense and not your usual happy ending.

The plots aren't very similar, but the intensities of them were both alike. They both induce deep emotions and I actually felt scared by the characters , more so in Save Me. The tone and dark colors are the same too.

ML leads are simillar. They are handsome and know how to flirt. They are cold and manipulative and intentionally saduce women without deeper emotions.
Vibes of the dramas are simillar. They are dark yet realistic. I have impression that the acting and camera shots are also simillar, with many close ups of the faces.

both MLs are broken on some level, fall in love with FLs by chance encounter, try to find solace in relationship

Both have such jarred characters and are pretty dark emotion wise. Both also are presented in a very realistic way, not on a silver plate with all decorations and stuffs.
