In short, the virtues of this show were Kim Sung Soo's beautiful face (playing Yoo Min Hyuk), Song Hye Kyo's adorableness (playing Han Ji Eun) and that amazing house they lived in. Faults? Just about everything else. The only reason I kept watching was in hope of a clever ending, a cute climax, something to make up for all the shouting and redundant plot devices. No such luck.
As Skye N Rain noted, it's really just good for passing a boring weekend with.

Some warnings:
->Absolutely no romantic scenes, still very cute to watch.
->Draaaagging after half of the episodes. (but by this time you would have fallen in love with this story,so you will enjoy watching no matter what)
->Other than the characters,I felt like music was the one that gave the feel of the story. As I said,it was dragging,so music had to fill the part.
One thing I like about this is, usually in all the dramas, although the main roles know how they feel about the other main role, they will not communicate their feelings properly (mainly to drag the drama). Here, the problem is a confused state of mind between 2 of the 4 roles. They are not sure what exactly they want, which I find very realistic.
Casts are perfect, though I felt rain was overacting in many places. may be his character was meant to be that way.
I haven't seen another korean drama with great music like this yet.
Can rewatch it after leaving a long gap.

Would you pick this man after all that abuse?
I found this to be an interesting series but a little awkward to watch. The acting was superb. Song Hye Kyo can light up a screen just by being there. She played the part well, as did the other main characters. This familiar story of two people who are not in love, living under a contract marriage is not new, and the effort to make it unique is what I found awkward. The two outside influences, one male and one female, were well placed and fit the part well. The cooking and cleaning arguments were repetitive and started wearing on my nerves. Who thinks screaming about cleaning the house contributes to the quality of a personal relationship? The amount of domestic abuse delivered reached way up on the misery index and frankly wasn’t funny. This show did have some funny moments, like Ji Eun carrying grandmother on her back, but domestic bullying wasn’t one of them. I wanted them to get divorced so bad, but I knew it wasn’t going to happen. Can a woman who receives that much abuse fall for this repulsive character? In my opinion, Lee Yeong Jae had very few redeeming qualities. After he looked like a raving idiot for so many episodes trying to make him look even partially normal in the end was a far stretch. I found myself rooting for Min Hyuk. Setting up Ji Eun to be a doormat for this guy was just way over the top. Taking all that verbal abuse and coming back for more felt like a battered woman going to the man who abuses her. For some reason, the writers think calling somebody dense, stupid, and other names is endearing or normal. I’ll accept the unique twist of two friends selling your house, emptying your bank account, and opening credit cards in your name, but remaining friends?
I’m not trying to tear this series apart, although it may seem like it. I watched every minute and rooted for Ji Eun the whole way. I wish I could have felt good about them at the end. I somehow thought they were with the wrong partners as the car drove away. Please watch and decide for yourself.

Story: I give it 9.5 because back then in 2004 this drama was so refreshing, entertaining and the story got high original value. Although so many people think the Thai version is better, I love the Korean version a lot more. This drama gave me so much feels in 2004, while when I watched the Thai version I found it kinda boring.
The casts are really good and I love the chemistry between Rain and Song Hye Kyo. They're so funny and sweet.
The music is just perfect!
I've watched this drama for so many times, the last one is two weeks ago, and I still found this drama so enjoyable. But I gotta admit that I cringe so much at the clothes they wore in this drama. They were so horrible right now.
Overall this drama was really good in its own era. If you watched this drama in 2004, it would probably become your favorite. But if you haven't watched it yet I'm not sure if you will like it or not. Maybe the Thai version is a better option for those who haven't watched any version of this drama.

Real Estate Scam
As per design, this is the usual love square quarrels from the 2000s, following the blueprint precisely but with one major unforgivable flaw. It's expected from this formula to have a loose story not adhering to reality, common sense or logic, in one way or another it blends and enhances its entertaining value to push forward the narrative and dynamics. However, this drama went beyond what the viewers may deem passable in that regard with how they snowballed the setup involving the FL's friends, and her friends existence in general, pure atrocity. I refuse to believe that the writer spent more than 1-2 minutes thinking about the initial setup. Admittedly, the cast is what kept it alive and watchable, from the main leads to the elder cast, absolutely excluding the duo friends. The resolution and the romance in general felt quite distant from the characters, probably because they held it off for too long before establishing a clear communication between the leads which only happened in the last episode. Overall, the drama was just alright. Was this review helpful to you?

This whole cycle is repeated in every 2-3 episode interval. This is what gets irritating. Now for a family audience who watch this on a TV, its still ok. But for binge watching, its horrible.
What I like about this is the music which is really great specially the song "Fate". I like Song Hye Kyo and sometimes even Rain though he gets on my nerves. It feels as if kids/teenagers are running the house. I like cohabitation/marriage stories, but this show doesn't really develop any element of cohabitation stories ( e.g. sexual tension)
Anyways I could recommend this to pre-teens, and early teenagers but not to adults.

Contract marriage grows into something more
8/10 is my rating. This is a 2004 South Korean television series spanning 16 (60 Minute) episodes and noted to be the pioneer of the Koreen “romantic comedy.” Han Ji-eun (Song Hye-kyo), an aspiring scriptwriter, lives in a house called "Full House" built by her late father. Her long time "friends" send her away on vacation and sell her house to scam the money. When she makes her way back to South Korea she finds that her beloved house now belongs to Lee Young-jae (Rain), a top South Korean actor. They strike a marriage contract and Ji-eun cooks and cleans to pay off her debt. Since it is not a "real" marriage Ji-eun and Yong-jae see other people. Young-jae finally has a chance at a girl he has loved since childhood and Ji-eun finds herself pursued by the man of her dreams. But living in such close proximity starts a growing love between the two housemates.Spoiler 🚨 I really liked both characters and their romance was actually perfect in its imperfection. It did, at times, feel like we were seeing and repeating the same cycles again and again and it got a little frustrating - that is why I did not rate it higher. I had comments on and noticed a lot of the comments were around that as well - that it repeated scenarios too much. I thought it took a deep look at love and what the heart wants. Someone can have all the right elements and your brain says pick that one but the heart may go a completely different direction. I thought it would be a simple, sweet, story and it really wasn't simple at all. It was also somewhat of a period piece as you can tell, based on some more recent dramas, that relationships are changing. He was almost obsessive compulsive about cleaning as it seemed they cleaned everything every day regardless.

I'm a huge fan of romantic comedies and I absolutely both side love interest in this. Kang Hye Won set the standard for dislikable second female lead. Just a terrible character, manipulative and a user. Yuck. Yu Min Hyuk is the same, just the worst.
This made me a fan of Song Hye Kyo and even though Rain's character is sort of a jerk, it doesn't stack up to the bad behavior of his terrible friends.
